Review:Dr. Kissinger has written a book that will be appealing to foreign policy experts and enthusiasts, those interested in China and decision makers who feel compelled to keep abreast of the big picture.
Through 40 years of direct experience with the country, Dr. Kissinger lays out important points about China. 1) It is a major power in the world economically and politically and will be #1 or #2 throughout the 21st century. 2) Chinese politicians are obsessed with internal order given its l... Review:Ah! Such a fabulous tale of the lying and deceitful acts that takes place among the honored, titled and wealthy! They are all such honorable men ...and women. The good and the bad actions done in our lives all considered, we are all just people. Read more
Review:This book does a great job of explaining the beginnings, course, and outcome of the war in an enlightening way that doesn’t feel tedious. Along the way there are mini-chapters that explain various elements of background to give context to the people and events being discussed in the main chapters. I have read many books on WWI and this is probably the best to start with as it really does help the reader to make sense of all of the disparate elements inherent in a telling of a worldwide war. Review:An account of the characteristics of past fascists, rhymes with what is in the world today. M Albright’s background gives her great insight to the dangers of Fascism. The signs of Fascism. How it infiltrates a free democracy. Read more
Review:The title of this book is misleading in that this is not a copy of Mary Astor's diary. It is a book about the custody trial of her daughter, in which the diaries figured prominently, in that her husband threatened to use the diaries against her in order to show that she was unfit to have custody of their daughter. Review:I’ve thoroughly enjoyed traveling back to the Titanic with this book! This spin on the happenings on board and after sinking are totally relatable, giving readers the “first person” perspective that draws them in and keeps them hooked. Highly recommend! Read more
Review:I was interested at first - the history of Cortes' path through the Aztec lands was intriguing at first, but I didn't like ANY of the characters in this novel, and found it repetitious. I gave up about halfway through. Read more
Review:Lots of details about Hillary' s early life that are not generally known. These details and interesting information flesh out and humanize this great lady, and it's a pity that so many young people don't know her.. I hope many people had the opportunity to read the book. Read more
Review:This book amazingly does justice to the enduring and generous life of Benjamin Franklin. The advice that is given is not intended in a formal sense, but a byproduct of the way Franklin lived. May the positive outlook on Benjamin Franklin’s life bring us more wisdom than we had before reading this small masterpiece. Read more
Review:I did like this book. It was entertaining and even a little suspenseful. However, it really doesn't stand alone as a book. It only takes you through the first part of the Grand Tour. It would be quite educational to go on a Grand Tour, but not so much fun to keep spoiled rich heirs in line. Read more
