People often speak of an author's "first book." Usually they mean the first book written by the author that became well-known, more appropriately called the au... Read more
Review:I was reluctant to try Debbie Macomber because I thought her books were just "romance" novels and they've never been a favorite. But my mom and sister love her stories and I've grown tired of my usual genre of mystery and fantasy. This was a lovely story that emphasized day-to-day living. The characters are really engaging and the story is very readable. I've been struggling with insomnia for several months now and this book is a nice to read before bed because it's calming, but I can put it dow... Read more
Review:I love stories about forbidden love or surprise romances and I love this writer! I bought a boxed set of Romance novels that had the first book in it. When that story was over I had to have more! So I bought this book and it was just as good, if not better! I will read all of what this author has to write. I enjoy Danelle Harmon books very much! Review:Not enough premise for a relationship- the groom's best friend chases after his fiance to try to get her back to the wedding. And of course, along the way, both parties start having more romantic feeling towards each other ( no surprise there). I couldn't really see a reason for these 2 to come together when the bride should of spent more time w/ her fiance, instead of his best friend. Then mayb she wouldn't have felt compelled to flee. Review:I cannot provide spoilers on this one as it is sooo short I would practically ruin the whole thing for anyone else to read , so I will just say ,

Review:I was extremely disappointed in this book. When I heard that Lisa Kleypas was writing a romance with Sebastian and Evie's son, I was thrilled and breathlessly waited in anticipation for its release.
Instead, she wasted him--and a huge literary opportunity to spotlight the Devil in Winter's son--in a mundane romance in which he was a supporting character. It should have been titled "Pandora in Spring".
I I would not have minded as much if it had been a interesting romance, but it wa... Read more
Review:I don't think I've cracked up this hard over a book in a while. It pokes fun at everything silly and nonsensical about the fantasy realm video game style. Definitely a worthwhile read if you're looking for some quick laughs throughout the book. Read more
Review:Excellently organized and written, this book covers most of the reasons I myself, left religion and became an Athiest. I would put this book alongside "The God Delusion" by Dawkins and "god is not Great" by Hitchins as must reads for the undecided and unenlightened. Barker provides a well-written expose on why he left religion and to my thinking, joins Dawkins and Hitchins in carrying forward the ideas and reasoning of Paine and Ingersoll. Read more
Review:I am a great admirer of Dawkins and his lucid writing, but was curious to see wether this applied to writing for youngsters (having a 15 year old grandson). Happily this turned out to be the case. A minor point: as a MD I thought the medical part a little bit weak. Read more
