Review:I absolutely love this series! Its been forever since I've found books I cannot put down. I love the mystical stories of these elemental women. And perhaps designed for young readers I am well into adulthood. Perhaps I am just young at heart and these stories help rekindle my imagination. Read more
Review:I began reading Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout just after finishing Obsidian, which was a stellar read. I have to say that while I did enjoy reading this book, I was somewhat disappointed with the similarities between Half-Blood and the Vampire Academy series. As a new fan of Richelle Mead, I was pretty dumbfounded with the obvious similarities.
Half-Blood tells the story of a sort of demigod race. Pure Hematoi have exceeding strength and powers. The offspring of Hematoi and Humans ... Read more
Review:The first half of this book was amazing. The wording was beautiful, the scenery awe-inspiring, and the characters vivid and unique. But then about 50-75% of the way through, the romance decided to rear its ugly head.
I don’t mind a good romance, but over the corse of two or three days, lazlo and Sarai go from friends to lovers, and once they passed that point, kissing was all they could do. It’s unrealistic, and annoying. Read more
Review:Held my interest. Loved the characters, especially Sip, the werewolf and Lisabelle, the dark mage. Their back and forth is hilarious. Overall, the book seems to parallel the Harry Potter series plots, but I loved Harry Potter, so I don't really mind. Read more
Review:I received a free copy of this novel from Librarything in exchange for an honest review. Like most YA books I was pretty sure I knew what was going to happen from the first few chapters, this one did have different things that I didn't see coming but still I expected a lot of it. While this book had it's moments it ultimately wasn't for me.
Different is based in a world where everyone has an element, one element, like fire or water, but there are weaker sub-elements like mist or whirlwind... Read more
Review:I read Lucy Grealy's "Autobiography of a Face" and liked it; I was moved by her suffering, as I had endured taunts by my schoolmates about my appearance all throughout my childhood, too. I read Ann Patchett's article about Grealy in New York magazine, and was shocked at how unstable Grealy really was. This book is a longer version of the article, and it is even more shocking in its details of how truly mentally ill Grealy was. But what is really appalling to me is the promoting of this book as a... Read more
Review:and yet again, another wonderful novel and it touches on people we all loved form other series, if you miss Dex and Perry you will catch a glimpse of them here and there. It was well worth it and it went by way too fast. Read more
Review:Synopsis (unspoiled): This omniscient point-of-view story is a head-hopping trip into British boarding school sexual politics. While there are many characters, the main plot line involves nearly fifteen y/o Ellie attempting to thwart 17 y/o Nate from realizing his sexual conquest of Ellie's naive cousin, Rose.
At first, Nate isn't interested in Ellie. She's too young for sex (apparently 16 is the minimum age of consent in England) but he becomes intrigued nonetheless--she's a sassy, sexy ... Read more
Review:My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Hmmm...I was super excited to hear that Ms. Kagawa was going to continue the Iron Fey series but have Ethan as the MC this time around. I was especially happy when the publisher through NetGalley approved me for an early copy. Thank you HarlequinTeen and NetGalley!
I loved seeing my favorite characters, Grimalkin and Puck, along with Meghan, Ash, and Razor, come together again for another fun dangerous adventure. The action is truly non-stop while keeping yo... Read more
Review:Very clever melding of witch and demon lore. Fun romp through high school drama as in making the cheer squad, homecoming, homework and oh yea........people are dying !! Enough meat to the story and levels to the characters that you are glad there are more books in the series. Enjoy! Read more
