Paranormal
Review:Writing is very good, as would be expected from this author. But the plot feels contrived in some places, and the ending comes way too soon and without clean-up details. There is little consolidation with her other vampire novels. Disappointing since this could have been more.
I'm annoyed because I couldn't find it at the library and had to pay $4.00, and it wasn't worth it. Would have been a good candidate for Kindle Unlimited. Read more
Review:I am new to JR Ward and just choose one of her books on a whim. The first one I read was Dark Lover. From there I was hooked on the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Now with the new series I was kind of skeptical because in the past other authors had disappointed me with starting new series. However, I can not say the same for JR Ward. Covet is awesome, this new series is going to be great. It is a far cry from the usual vampires stories but with angels and demons. Although she does sneak i... Read more
Review:This is a breathtaking tale of Brundar and Calyspo's journey into love. Brundar is such a complex being with a sense of devotion to the order and a cold dark exterior. The author lets us into his head and we see so much more. Calyspo is rescued from a dangerous spouse and a loveless marriage by Brundar. The story unfolds and the sexual attraction has some surprises and very hot steamy sex. The side story is about Roni, a dormant who is trying to transition into an immortal. This has some twists ... Review:I randomly picked up book one and have now finished book 11. Heart was broken to find out I would have to wait until July 2017 for the next in this series. I was captivated at book one and had weeks of enjoyable reading. Great books. I'll read from this author for as long as there are more coming out. Read more
Review:Amazing addition to the BDB world. If J.R. Ward could crank one of these out every month in addition to the Brotherhood and Trainee books, that would be great (no biggie, right?). Fast easy read that totally sucked me in. Read more
Review:This book was listed under Award Winners by Amazon. What award did it win? I read this book and it was entertaining but I wouldn't guess it won any award. I hope to everything that Amazon's recommendations are independent. If not, trust is broken. Read more
Review:I love Nora and I have loved so many of her trilogies. But, I never expected to encounter vampires in her books. It just never occurred to me. I wasted $23.95 because I purchased the trilogy expecting Boonsbury, Dream trilogy or one of he others I have loved and found something that just turned my stomach.
Now I will need to research before I purchase. Sorry, not for me. Read more
Review:As much as I like the way Laurell Hamilton writes I've started to avoid reading her work. I'm not a prude, but I don't think scenes that are steamier than what could be found in the 'dirty books' section of the drug store (that's where you snuck off to when I was 13) add tons to the plot, or to the character development. A little is good, but a lot just becomes tedious. With Cerulean Sins out in paperback I decided it was time to test the water again.
For 135 pages I thought I was in l... Read more
Review:In this fourth Anita Blake novel our heroine no longer bears the marks of Jean-Claude or any other master vampire and is exploring a relationship with Richard, the middle school teacher. Of course there are problems: Richard is a werewolf whose pack leader is threatening to kill him, Jean-Claude will not take "no" for an answer and has a female vampire who wants to kill Anita, and Dolph wants help identifying the something that is killing lycanthropes (shapeshifters). "The Lunatic Cafe" is the... Read more
Review:I have reread this series several times. Yet I have not been able to bring myself to reread Incubus Dreams. I enjoy many of the characters that are not as beloved by many other fans, but even Nathaniel, who is my favorite and is given much page time, is shorted. His story is slopped down without seeming thought as to how this newest development heightens or helps the main character within LKH's world.
The book seems like it is a neverending rough draft. I am a reader who skims over spelli... Read more
