Time of Contempt (The Witcher)
Time of Contempt (The Witcher)

Review:Great style of writing with rich detail and very "fleshy" characters. If you're looking for a 1000 page epic then keep looking but if you're looking for a quick read with an interesting and mature world full of memorable characters and stuffed with heart pumping action scenes then pick it up and enjoy.

Note: If you haven't read the previous entry you will find yourself pretty lost. Read more

Ignited (The Ignited Series Book 1)
Ignited (The Ignited Series Book 1)

Review:I have been struggling for the last couple of months to find books that start great and finish great. I have brought so many lately that have fizzled half way though I can say this was definely not the case with this book. The characters were great and Nathan is wow but I do like Alec. Cant wait to see the outcome between those three but hope it is Nathan as I am team Nathan. I hope that Alec can have some one as well though.

I can wait to for the next book to come out. My only hope... Read more

The Incarnations
The Incarnations

Review:Reluctant to review Susan Barker’s The Incarnations: A Novel without knowing another of her three publications. This work is so laden with negativity regarding China in all its covered historical periods that I wondered whether it flows from her generic mode of story telling or just what the subject had promoted in her artistic rendering? On completion of the story comes a biographical note: “Susan Barker grew up in East London. While writing The Incarnations she spent several years living in Be... Read more

Martial God Asura: Volume 1: 修罗武神
Martial God Asura: Volume 1: 修罗武神

Review:This series is Xianxia, which is an offshoot of the wuxia genre. Many people, may recall chinese action films as an example of wuxia. Martial God Asura is one of my favorite Xianxia and it really establishes a strong baseline for the genre in general as all the tropes are present.

This series is a Martial Arts Fantasy story that follows a young boy who goes from the weak, unwanted bastard child of his clan, to transform into a force that shakes his entire world. It's very entertaining. Read more

Book 2). (A Gothic Romance Based On A Norwegian Legend.)
Book 2). (A Gothic Romance Based On A Norwegian Legend.)

Review:This story is well thought, but there are certain areas that drag out too long while the ending was too abrupt. For all the great action in this book, the ending seemed unfinished. In comparison the the rest of the book where some of the details and sappy moments are over done. I enjoyed getting to know the story, but I'm not completely satisfied with the outcome Read more

AlterWorld: Play to Live. A LitRPG Series (Book 1)

Review:This was my first experience of RPG literature and I was very pleasantly surprised about the author's style, entertainment value and (normally my pet peeve) grammar. I wasn't sure what this was all about, but thoroughly enjoyed the story and could really relate, especially since I am an avid gamer (WOW) myself. The idea of delving into the game forever has crossed my mind, too :-) Read more

The Last Continent: A Novel of Discworld
The Last Continent: A Novel of Discworld

Review:I was happy to see the wizards back in action in this always entertaining Discworld series. I have always thought the wizards (along with the witches) are among the funniest characters. Pratchett has crafted an interesting story set in the land-down-under, a story about gods and creation and the blending of past and present, as Rincewind tries to save the continent from a massive drought. As usual, Rincewind falls into things (literally and figuratively), but despite the familiar Rincewind an... Read more
