Review:I have now read four Diskworld books and I'm still waiting to see what it is the people love so much about this series. Each book is cute enough, but Mort and also Equal Rites seems almost more like children's books to me (the first two I actually enjoyed more). I know people like to compare Pratchett to Douglas Adams, but really, rather than being a fantasy world Adams, he seems more like an English Piers Anthony. Blasphemy to some, I know, though Anthony has his moments. Read more
Review:I've read about a dozen of the Discworld books and this is my least favorite. I had come to expect great books from Terry Pratchett and this one was disappointing. It was OK, but it was lacking much of the humor of the other books. Read more
Review:The book is funny and carries the unique Pratchett charm. It is classic Discworld, but the characters and story are not as thrilling as some of the others in the series. I prefer Death, Rincewind, the wizards and other classic Ankh-Morpork characters to the witches. Discworld fans read this book! Starting on the series, or perhaps haven't read many of them? Skip this until you find a character group you really like. Read more
Review:There are some books that make you rethink things in a massive way. This one is one of them. The book opened my mind to the boundaries between faith, religion, and the religious. It shaped my understanding in this matter in a way that still holds today, nearly 20 years after I first picked it up. Heck, I even referenced it during my university studies, much to the awe and surprise of the lecturer who heard it (He never expected this sort of thinking from an undergrad).
But even if you don't n... Read more
Review:If you enjoy Sci-Fi and love to laugh this is a great series for you. Thief of time is part of the Discworld Series. It's full of chuckles and makes fun, tongue-in-cheek, of all the elments of Sci-Fi. This is the first book in the many available books in the Discworld Series that I've read. I can't wait to get my hands on the others! Read more
Review:Once again Terry Pratchett has written a masterpiece. This time it is about the commander of the watch going back in time trying to catch a killer and running into himself as a young copper. Because he has gone back into time, Vimes has to set the past right again or risk damaging the future. The reader gets to meet many of the beloved cast of characters that have emerged from the diskworld series over the last twenty years. The reader meets everyone from Nobby to the Patrician as a young ma... Read more
Review:This book (though there are three there is no need to split them up, they should have been one) reads plot point for plot point like twilight fan fiction, just replace vampire with Norse god. Hard to believe but the writing was even worse. That being said, I felt compelled to read the whole thing so I gave it two stars instead of one. Read more
Review:This was so good, the strong female character who was fascinating bitchy .Love K.N. Lee world! The amazing story held my attention from the first word to the last. I look forward to reading more by this author.Really excited and anxious for the next installment! Read more
Review:I discovered this series. I made the mistake of showing another otaku because my screen had the Japanese version on my desktop. In logic class I had shown another person, and then suddenly this manga exploded. I found that everyone was reading it because it was listed as no. 1. So now I am supporting the english translation officially by purchasing a copy.
I liked the storyline because the characters seem real. I don't want to spoil the story but there's moments comparable to clannad, but... Read more
Review:I enjoyed reading both Awaken and Dance.
They are both such a fresh telling of the old stories that I was enthralled by every word. Definitely not the standard that I was used to and expected.
Thank you for sharing your imagination with us and improving on the Disney versions that we all grew up on. Read more
