A New Adult Urban Fantasy Novel (The Colin McCool Paranormal Suspense Series Book 1)
A New Adult Urban Fantasy Novel (The Colin McCool Paranormal Suspense Series Book 1)

Review:I didn't expect to like this book. By the time I finished it, I wanted more. There were lots of reminders of the Iron Druid books by Kevin Hearne. The book was easy enough to read the pace kept me turning pages. The "druid" in this story is likable, while trying to distance himself from his heritage in a world where no one will let him. This book has an aged mentor, werewolves, Fae, and gnomes. What could go wrong? Well, how about an inner demon? Read more

The Collected Works of Joseph Campbell - Myths to Live By

Review:I'd love to say this book is a good one but I can't because the illustrations overwrite the text. Whoever formatted this for ebook didn't bother to read their own work. I'll muddle through. Publishers like this are either lazy, uninformed or greedy. Read more

The Power of Myth
The Power of Myth

Review:Disappointing because the conversation bunches from place to place and it never seems a line of thought is finished. I am not really seeing what is suppose to be so great about this Campbell guy. Seems like somewhere along the line someone said he was great and the lemmings follow. Perhaps I will give him a third strike but this book and a DVD did nothing for me. Read more

The Fairy Tale Bride (Once Upon a Wedding Book 1)
The Fairy Tale Bride (Once Upon a Wedding Book 1)

Review:The girl in this book made me want to weep for females everywhere. Without going into too much detail, in the beginning she was strong willed which was good, then by the end I wondered who was this idiot girl. The guy I had absolutely no respect for. Good read If you like you're "heroines" docile and submissive. Read more

An Adult Fairytale Romance (Once Upon a Spell Book 1)
An Adult Fairytale Romance (Once Upon a Spell Book 1)

Review:* I received this free in exchange for an honest review
I did like this story. It's a classic take on the “Beauty & Beast” story written in a traditional “fairy tale style” with characters that have big emotions, and a plot that nearly ties up everything. Feels very classic, but with a princess who can fight her own battles. Read more

The Seventh Bride

Review:Not really feeling this one. I put this book down so many times but I just wanted to know how this situation would be fixed so I finally fished it. Just seems lacking in details and descriptions. I couldn't actually incision what I was reading. More imagery would do a world of good. Read more

Defender (The Sanctuary Series Book 1)
Defender (The Sanctuary Series Book 1)

Review:Reading Defender was like falling in love with RA Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden novels all over again. Crane tells a captivating story, full of action, character growth, and ridiculous jokes. Fantasy novels have a tendency to focus too heavily on certain elements of a story (like a character's religious journey, how they feel about their family, an inner monologue, love interests, or just plain combat mechanics) but Defender is well-balanced and plot development is natural. I hate it when you can ... Read more

A Red-Rose Chain (October Daye Series Book 9)

Review:The latest book in the series and I loved it! It seems that I'm torn between wanting the book to last as long as possible and yet I want to hurry and devour it quickly. You need to get this book and each and everyone in the series because they're that good! Read more

Rise of Gods (The Paternus Trilogy Book 1)
Rise of Gods (The Paternus Trilogy Book 1)

Review:I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. It's one of the SPFBO finalists. If you don't know what that is then, (seriously, where have you been???) you should take a look at Mark Lawrence's website.

I had heard a few things about it beforehand but I like to think I have a reasonably open mind.

After a rocky opening chapter Ashton settles down to the business of reminding me why I read so many of Dean Koontz's books. This is urban fantasy done right. Not a sparkly vampire or shir... Read more

Journey to Ixtlan: The Lessons of Don Juan

Review:Did you ever try to find your hands in your dreams? I tried. And succeeded. All by myself, without any fancy workshops. And now I am thinking - if this technique works, could all the rest in Castaneda books be true? What do you think? Read more
