Review:If you’re interested in social sciences and how people relate with government, this is a great read for you. This was one of the sources I used to write my college thesis.
Easy to read through and has a great political background. The authors tend to place themselves as observers without trying to influence the reader to a certain ideology. Read more
Review:An excellent analysis of political order and the structural processes required to provide a society with an effective government. Lamentably, it is also depressing for those from countries which have already ingrained noxious processes which are very difficult to remove. Read more
Review:lots of good points and calls for political action. Not the easiest book to read though (it was a slog to finish it).
But a note for those reading it on Kindle, the last third of the book is references, so don't drop it
if you're 50% of the way through and have no idea how he can go on for the rest of the book, you're almost at the end. Read more
Review:Andersen does it great job of historically detailing how we have arived at the position we are in today, especially the political. He walks the reader through what led to the American love affair with relativism. Read more
Review:Thomas Sowell's "The Quest for Cosmic Justice" consists of four extensive essays. The first of these four gives its title to that of the book. The other three essays are: "The Mirage of Equality," "The Tyranny of Visions," and "The Quiet Repeal of the American Revolution." You may agree or disagree with the analyses that Sowell provides in these essays. But you will be unable to deny that Sowell provides a great deal of food for thought. These essays are Sowell at his best. They were originally ... Read more
Review:I lack necessary intellectual capacity and courage to judge or review such an amazing narrative and book, however, this book taught me more and more and proofed that some of the critical , social, political and philosophical questions were answered long time ago. This book adds to the answers to my own personal questions such as why Europ for example was able to reform while other nations and ethnicities were unable to do so and describe the kind of debate that was going on some 150 years ago th... Review:This book sits in an uncomfortable position. It is largely anecdote driven, which makes it hard to justify the lengthy page count. It is largely an explanation of how things work in Scandinavia with relatively superficial suggestions of how to transplant them to the US. To a certain extent that is okay: just having a better explanation of how other countries do things can open the eyes of Americans who, like all people everywhere, assume that their policies, choices, and way of live is universal... Review:Zeihan is a great geopolitical thinker and this book distills his work in a very concise, readable and entertaining way. More then that, the last 12 months have really showed the relevancy of his predictions, coming on even faster then he had anticipated (more on that in The Absent Superpower, another must read).
If you are interested in the larger view about what is happening in the world, where we are going and why someone like Trump was going to be the next president regardless of the ... Read more

Review:Very easy reading, has some technicals points that can get a little tedious at points but repetition is the best way to learn. Wish I would have read this with my first born and so happy that I read it before the second one gets here. It really helped me to understand the 'nursing system' and how you and your baby work together. I feel really confident to nurse with the second and hope to go longer then 7months like I did with my first. The best part is, the book has an index to help reference f... Read more
