Review:This wonderful book truly captures the essence of all the Mass Effect games. It gives you a more in-depth look into how the characters, their species, and worlds are developed. It is truly an in-depth and must have for any Mass Effect fans! Read more
Review:Like many of my fellow feline enthusiasts, I have followed Simon's Cat on the internet for some time. When I found out that there was a book prepared in his honour, I was more than a little interested. After reviewing several pages, I was hooked. You may think that something is lost in translation ~~ a video clip type of approach to a stop action book approach, but Simon's Cat is just as wonderful in print as he is on internet. One of the best books I have purchased in quite some time. Read more
Review:i love this alphabet book. it is to progressive social activism what bible-based board books are to christian religious education: an age-appropriate way to indoctrinate your child in the dogma of your choice. the images are gorgeous (as one would expect - the author is a graphic designer), the short rhymes are clever, and the hunt for the black cat is a cute touch. Review:A graphic novel has the creative freedom to do some time travel along the narrative arc of our story. At a time when Euro-Americans feel discomfort while watching mob violence by people given sanction to throw gasoline and plant bombs, this history forces us to see exactly how dangerous it was to become a Freedom Rider--and how necessary that choice was. White supremacists still murder African-American ministers and Bible students. As a result of many generations of pushing social evolution, we ... Read more
Review:Like many Avatar: the Last Airbender fans, I was distressed when Nick Magazine went out-of-print- thus removing the chance to read several comics that were promised us. This book contains not only those lost comics-which contain some pretty amazing stores-but all other NickMag comics as well. It also has a few pages of concept art, and information on the crew of the show, and the people involved in the comics (which was pretty much the crew of the show :P). This is definitely a great buy for fan... Read more
Review:This is yet another New 52 re launch. This story being of the Greatest Hero ever created! Marvel and DC both agreed, this character named Superman deserves the very Best! and he does here. BUY THIS! Read more
Review:Straczynski's second volume picks up nicely where the first leaves off, both humanizing and distancing the Kryptonian in such a unique fashion, it's almost stunning to think that is hasn't been down before now. Truly a great read. Kudos to Straczynski for making the Man of Steel relevant again. Read more
Review:Overall good storyline that shows us what Superman's upbringing would be like in a more modern context. It is clear that this is a new Superman, not the same one we are familiar with from decades prior.
Some minor quibbles still arise: the glasses-only disguise for Clark Kent, for example, but they don't diminish the storyline's entertainment value. Read more
Review:If you just like to see superheros punching things, Birthright isn't for you.
However, Of the origin/year one comics I've read, this one has a special place in my heart.
The pre-Superman experiences really capture the character, but it was about 1/3 the way through that I realized Birthright is a Superman collection must; as Clark is about to make his debut as Superman, he says to himself, "God... please don't let me look ridiculous." Clark Kent is fleshed out as a real person, no... Read more
Review:Book arrived early and in great condition.
I was recommended this book by a comic artist, despite his high regard of the book I was still surprised at it's quality. It is a wonderful reference that even includes exercises to help drive home the concepts in each chapter. Most useful to comic artists, regardless of format, but also a good reference for sequential art in general. Read more
