Review:Eric was prompt to replace the copy that was sent in error. It came in great shape and better than expected. Thank you for making my son's purchase a good one. We will continue to look here for more books of interest. Read more
Review:Summary:
So Loki’s on the loose and hooked up with the crew of the Ship of the Dead to start Ragnarok. Now, Magnus and every other demi god knows this is coming…. eventually. But not yet- there’s stuff to do. Percy and Magnus’ cousin Annabeth have to be allowed to go to college, Sam has to be allowed to marry her true love, Alex…. has to be allowed to be Alex. To hold off Rangarok and gain a (hopefully long) reprieve, Magnus must cross an ocean, and defeat and im... Read more
Review:Although I'm a big fan of the first three books of the Earthsea series, I think that this latest book (as was the case with Tehanu), was both overrated and underwhelming. It weighed in at just over 200 pages, which is somewhat anemic, and the book plods along at a slow pace ... and is unfortunately somewhat dreary and predictable.
IMHO, this series should have remained the trilogy that the author first envisioned it as ... books 4 and 5 are just anemic tack-on stories that lack the magest... Read more

Review:I stumbled upon this and thought it might be appropriate for my 10-year-old. As I read it, I was pleased to learn that not only was it a sweet story but it incorporated some of those Avengers characters that she loves and talked about them in a more traditional way (not modern, HD comic-book-hero action story). We both enjoyed it. It's always nice to find good books for kids in the Kindle version and that are inexpensive. Read more
Review:Was gifted this off my wishlist <3 I used to read these books when I was little and absolutely loved the idea of a princess that wasn't your typical girl and characters who didn't fit stereotypes. The whole series is about breaking out of the mold and doing what's unexpected <3 Great read, and i'm super glad to have the whole collection now that i'm older, so that i'll have them for my own kids in the future :D Read more
Review:If you enjoyed Percy Jackson's sense of humour than you will love Magnus. He is witty, funny and chalk full of pop culture references. All of these attributes making him an ideal and wonderful narrator.
To digress, "The hammer of Thor," is even better than "the sword of summer" introducing more characters and consequences that bring these teens closer to ragnarok. Unlike the first novel in this series we get to dive right into the action, skipping all of the world building and information... Read more
Review:SPOILER FREE:
Young fans of the Percy Jackson series may find themselves a bit slower to warm up to this one. Not impossible, mind you, and I think all of them will still thoroughly enjoy these books. However, I noticed that my ten-year-old was taking longer to read this one, just as he had with book one, The Red Pyramid.
I think the reason for this is not that the books are less well-written, or the characters less well-drawn. These books are every bit as exciting and character... Read more
Review:My 1st grade class was into it for the most part but the overall book itself was pretty boring and predictable even for a group of 6-7 year olds. The printing was messed up as well, each page with a picture had nothing on the page behind it so it really threw me off when we all sat down for read aloud, I thought the book was maybe missing pages. I recommend a different book if possible, it is a cool concept, but not engaging enough for an entire book "cool concept", more like a short discussion ... Read more
Review:Who knew a goldfish could set Minli on the adventure of a lifetime?
Minli’s family works hard but are very poor. Yet Minli still finds joy in her life. She is captivated by the stories her father, Ba, tells every night. While Minli delights in her father’s tales, her mother, Ma, does not. Ma sees little use in telling stories of magic and treasure when their life is so dull and dreary. I found it extremely sad to watch Ma’s bitterness taint the happiness Minli found in the stories. In an ... Read more
