Fairy Tales, Folk Tales & Myths
Review:D'Aulaires' Book of Norse Myths is one of the best books of Norse mythology that I've ever read. While it is intended for young readers, adults will be equally charmed with its clear, concise writing and unsophisticated (yet memorable) illustrations. My kids hung on every word as I read this too them, and loved looking at the illustrations. The only flaw this book contains is a rather tacked on ending that trys to reconcile Norse mythology and Christianity. A great companion to this book is D'Au... Read more
Review:I was a little shocked, I didn't think that George RR Martin did anything in less than 150 pages. it's an interesting story, but it doesn't really seem to fit with any of his other works. All in all, a good purchase I'd say. Read more
Review:Definitely worth the read. The book was a great set up to a great story. I hope that it continues to be just as good as the promise of this first book. I really enjoyed how it juxtaposed our current society and the problems therein. The philosophical questions and statements were lovely and the set up of the fantasy world was bang on. It was a bit convoluted to begin with but I got the hang of the style pretty quickly. I liked how I was sucked into the story and just wanted to know what happened... Read more

Review:While it is difficult for any author to measure up to the original, my son and I were disappointed when we read the sequel. We read Dragons Love Tacos over and over again, but we do not get the same enjoyment with the sequel. Read more
Review:I really like ST Bendes books about the norse gods.
Well written with a plot that captures your imagination.
The only reason I only give 4 stars is that I'm Swedish, and it's kind of annoying to read that Malmö is a small fishing village. It's actually Swedens 3 largest city. There are a couple more things that are innaccurate through all books, and I do suggest taking a Swede or Norse in for proofreading about local Nordic stuff.
But I recommend all books by this author. Read more
Review:Creative and interactive, This book captures the heart and thoughts of a child. It makes for a great read aloud. There are lots of small letters and slips of paper slipped inside this book so, do not turn your children or student's loose with this book alone. 1st through 3rd grades would really love it. Review:This book is super adorable as are all the Pinkalicious books are. My little one is fascinated with all things marine life lately and this book arrived just in time for this current obsession of hers. She was also so excited to see the stickers as they are now apart of her sticker collection. It has a good storyline and the drawings are adorable. I love this book and my daughter does also!!
