Review:The decent middle and end made up for the terrible beginning.

Spoilers!

Firstly: The character's mother was in a terrible relationship yet she's pushing her teenage daughter into getting into a serious relationship at an early age. Seems a little unlikely but also what kind of mother is freaking out over her 17 year old daughter still being single. If she were in her 30s or even late 20s, I'd kind of understand but what message are you sending to young girls out there? If you don't... Read more

Isla and the Happily Ever After
Isla and the Happily Ever After

Review:This, personally, is my favorite Stephanie Perkins book. I liked it far better than Anna And The French Kiss and Lola And The Boy Next Door. Perhaps it's because I felt more of a connection with Isla.
This book is genuinely amazing. It had me laughing out loud and then sniveling in the sad scenes. Being 22, I don't think that I was the target audience for IATHEA, but regardless, I think people of all ages will enjoy it.
So, basically this book follows Isla Martin who has been in love with ... Read more

Book 1 of The Edge of Nowhere Series - The Edge of Nowhere

Review:This book is for a younger audience than myself, however, I found Georges's style replicated exceptionally well, resounded and articulated to all audiences in the manner of not only looking for more but happy to engage similar mysteries. A sensitive and engaging novel for all. Read more

Falling Kingdoms: A Falling Kingdoms Novel
Falling Kingdoms: A Falling Kingdoms Novel

Review:Although the book has four main characters, it mostly focuses on Princess Cleo°s growth and development. While in the book`s beginning Cleo is no more than a headstrong, spoiled girl, she progresses to a level of pride and determination, displayed at the ending of the story, that is found within the depths of a true queen even in the worst of times. Princess Cleo`s character is in many ways much like that of the heroine of the Seven Realms series, so for readers of the Seven realms, I strongly r... Read more

Bad Blood (A Virgil Flowers Novel)
Bad Blood (A Virgil Flowers Novel)

Review:That effin' Flowers is simply a joy to read. Sandford writes books that are too short. They are over too soon. Then I have to wait until the next one, usually with great impatience.I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys being entertained. Sandford is like a super cold beer on a really hot summers day. It goes down easy. Read more

Mortal Prey (Lucas Davenport, No. 13)

Review:This book brings back Clara Rinker and closes loose ends from a previous book. I loved it and was kind of sorry for Clara. John Standford did it again, great book with real suspense and what is going to happen next questions to be answered. Read more

Review:Wow!!! Incredible!!! I can’t explain what this book did to me. It hurt to read it. My anxiety went through the roof. It was a simply incredible. I can’t say it was her best book, because all Tijan’s book are incredible, but it’s definitely up there. The last line of the book through me for a loop. Can’t say I saw that coming.

This book did remind me of Sam and Mason, so if you love their story, you’ll love this one too. The male characters aren’t as hard core and the girls aren’t as ruthl... Read more

Review:My son read this book for 7th grade assignment. The book deals with slavery, rape, and abuse which were disturbing and not age appropriate for 7th grade. I would wait to read this book until high school at least. Book was well written, but disturbing for younger readers. Read more

An Epic Fantasy Novel (The Black Witch Chronicles)
An Epic Fantasy Novel (The Black Witch Chronicles)

Review:Don't believe the negative hype. This book is fierce in its lessons and understanding of racism and prejudice. It narrates the growth and philosophical insight of a privileged youth as she learns that peace, compassion, and understanding are much more important than power and privilege. Read more

The Treemakers (The Treemakers Trilogy) (Volume 1)
The Treemakers (The Treemakers Trilogy) (Volume 1)

Review:Read on recommendation from a friend. Well written, full of action and believable characters. A bit too dark for my personal taste but if you are into dystopian type stories you'll likely love it. I wish there were a rating system for books that included a level of dark/horor/etc. Read more
