Review:The Blank Slate is a brilliant synthesis of biology, psychology and humanism, composed by a polymath who is also a gifted writer. Perhaps the highest compliment I can give it is that in the future it will be regarded as boringly obvious. Today, however, it is a presentation of insights that, singly, are recognized by only few, and combined, by practically no one.
Drawing to a considerable extent on the work of R. Trivers and E. O. Wilson, The Blank Slate carries their thinking further, con... Read more
Review:Didn't fully understand the meaning behind it being an mp3, although the packaging said it played like a CD. Only, it doesn't. Stuck it in my player and I hear nothing. Not their fault I guess but I wish the packaging had been a little more clear. Read more
Review:We see and interact with this world the way our
central nervous system allows us to. And this form
may be completely altered or shattered by a neurologic disease.
In "An Anthropologist on Mars", sensitive Oliver

Review:With enthusiasm I began reading this book. Immediately I soaked in all the information and began applying it in my daily life while interacting with the opposite sex and with the same sex. I noticed that others noticed a difference in me. My confidence exploded within days. I am currently communicating with 4 different women. As long as you do not abuse the hidden secrets in how to become a better man, you'll be fine. I highly recommend this book. I love this book, and I continue to study the bo... Read more
Review:Like most workbooks on anxiety (and I've read and worked with many), anxiety is relieved through distraction of tasks and such. Not much lasting progress made at the end of it. But it's written better than most with a kind and compassionate voice. I enjoyed it. Read more
Review:Very interesting and very clear. My only criticism is that the author tends to go into the stupidities of the "other side," who see animals as unfeeling and as life-like automata, at more length than they merit. Read more
Review:I picked up this book after listening to the podcast. This is so much better! Insightful, and never condescending, this book really is great even if neither you nor your partner has contemplated infidelity (as far as you know, anyway!). Would recommend to anyone married. Read more
Review:A good introduction to getting in touch with one's feelings and coping techniques. These are messages we think children get at home or in school, but sometimes these messages don't get through. Because it is branded by American Girl it has instant credibility. Very easy read. Read more
Review:Our company is rabidly enjoying coherence and flow state business coaching, and this is one of the books we read together. I read the hardcopy and listened to the audio book. Since then, I've also purchased two copies for friends and recommended it to others. Challenge your notions of what makes you tick and why you're on this planet. What will you do with your life? How will you do it, and what is the impact on those around you? This book has encouraged me to push my limits -and relish it- in... Read more
