Review:I had the fortunate experience of meeting Mr. Alex Pattakos on a return business trip lately. We struck up a conversation on a very full plane. I have to admit that I was exhausted from a one day out and in trip to the east coast from the midwest. He mentioned his book and his line of expertise. It would have been very easy for me to be a 'Prisoner of my own thoughts' and just try to sleep, but you see, I have been going through some very interesting decision points in my life and lo and beh... Dr. Jung has hit the truth, the problem with modern man is his creed's lack Energy or vitality
"We cannot reason ourselves out of our basic irrationality, we can only go about being irrational in a reasonable way " Aldous Huxley
Our spiritual journey is a constant look into ourselves; it is also a constant concern for others as well.

Review:This is not just a book about Dr. Frankl's experiences as a concentration camp (Auschwitz) survivor. It is an inspiring explanation of how a person's outlook on any situation is not subjective, but instead, objective. One's purpose in life and meaning on this world does not have to be defined by society's measure of success. Very inspiring, to say the least. Read more
Review:I simply find it amazing that such a poor book (booklet) would get such a number of higher star rating! Friends or fans of the author? Or simply that many ignorant people?
Not only is there nothing new here, but much of it has been disproved or shown to have minimal improvement value! And how about addressing the fact that people shouldn't assume a higher BP level or that they will get high BP one day? Many people have low BP in general (like my adult niece) or due to changes later in lif... Read more
Review:I think that this is an IMPORTANT book... But the most important part, the specific clinical reasoning and dosage guidelines, are understated and hard-to-find. The vast majority of the book is anecdote by the author. This probably makes for a more INTERESTING book, but somewhat defeats the purpose of writing it. Read more

Review:Once again Professor Grant excites the audience by introducing and challenging the familiar and turns them on to provide a different illuminating perspective. I love the part about procrastination and the strategies to avoid group think. Read more
Review:For years, I used erotica books as surrogate fantasy material, believing that I was incapable of fantasizing during sex, that I had no fantasies of my own and had to use other people's. Reading "My Secret Garden" changed my perception of myself drastically. Those horrid, disturbing thoughts that floated into my brain, that I would shove down quickly as "sick," were indeed fantasies. The brave women who contributed their fantasies and feelings showed me that even if what I was drawn to was "si... Read more
Review:"Flow" is a book about improving both performance and satisfaction in most pursuits.
If awareness is required for improvement, than the analysis presented in "Flow" is helpful in both regards.
The book provides a general description of the pleasant sensation described as "Flow."
Based on people's descriptions of positive experiences, the author identifies the shared characteristics of the experiences that correspond to the respective experiences being characterized as positi... Read more
Review:The whole planet is getting fat, each cow uses over 2000 gallons of water, cows and chickens produce a huge amount of methane and global warming, and animal fats cause heart attacks (read the story about Norway in WW2). I'm curious: Is there ANY benefit to eating a high calorie, non-plant based diet?
If you can't just do it, this book makes it doable. Read more
