Review:Anne Lamott has an easy manner that makes you feel like you're having a heated conversation with your best buddy sitting at the kitchen counter drinking coffee; her writing is honest, caring, and fun, even talking about grace and faith.
You will find this book to be a great read because it will make you look within yourself and think things through. I love writing that surprises me with simplicity and originality. "Grace (Eventually)" shows a softer side of Anne, a maturing and acceptan... Read more
Review:Ben Carson is a wonderful man. Everything about him is worthy of attention. This book is inspiring as well as informative about a man who is alive and well and living in the USA! You can feel his humble nature through the words written about him as well as the remarkable obstacles he has risen above in his life. Read more
Review:THe book is yet another wonderful publication to be handed out to new and future Ben Carson admirers and voters. I am going to order more to pass out to my neighbors, several of which are highly educated black families. I also am going to show the 2 CD films of Dr Carson. I will wait after the Iowa vote, where I am hoping and believe that Dr Carson's vote tallies will come in very high.
Then when Dr Carson's name comes to the forefront, new voters will be more curious about him, and t... Read more
Review:We just got the book yesterday and we have already read it all the way through! It is a great story of a life well lived and you can't put the book down once you get started. It is a great insight into an already great view from the outside of a family that cares deeply about the direction our nation is going. We will be watching to see the outcome of the coming election events and we are hopeful that a man of this character will go in to the White House. It is a very refreshing and in some ... Read more
Review:Great biographic of president who new how to get things done domestically by effectively working across party lines. Tragically, Vietnam pulled him into the swamp. However, we sure could use his skills today. Read more
Review:There was a book published by Ominbus Press in 1977 called Clint Eastwood: All American Anti-HeroClint Eastwood, All-American Anti-Hero: A Critical Appraisal of the World's Top Box Office Star and His Films. This fan book traces Eastwood's career up to the Gauntlet in 1977. Although Marc Eliot's book American Rebel takes Eastwood up to present date, we as fans and readers, don't really glean any more insight into Cli... Read more
Review:Great, quick read - as a follower of Force12, St. Martins, and the SOFREP crew, Irving's book is fun and lives up to his reputation. Don't get this if you're expecting technical / tactical knowledge - while it does encompass some training aspects of the Rangers/SOF, etc., The Reaper is the story of him; how and why Irving became what he is/was. Review:Chris Kyle was a living legend who will continue to be talked about for years to come. Right now with the country in such disarray we need a hero that we can believe in. Chris was such a man. There are many like him still out there trying to protect us. Honor them all. Chris would say and I believe, they are All Heroes. God Bless Him and his family. Read more
Review:Charles Henderson must have had a difficult time weeding through years of information ,stories and documented deeds. The author presented the story in a technical but interesting way. Carlos was always a good man and an exceptional Marine. This book is an excellent biography and just a great story Read more
Review:It came extremely recommended and I just found it alright. The famous lobster essay, was second to the essay on the bit of new journalism he did in his coverage of the porno Oscars in Las Vegas. A very crafty writer who doesn't mind coming up out of the text and challenging the reader. He's also not afraid to write with flair. I'll read him again. Read more
