Chris Kyle was a living legend who will continue to be talked about for years to come. Right now with the country in such disarray we need a hero that we can believe in. Chris was such a man. There are many like him still out there trying to protect us. Honor them all. Chris would say and I believe, they are All Heroes. God Bless Him and his family.

This book gives insight to the struggle that families of our professional warriors experience as they live dual lives. From all accounts Mr. Kyle truly believed in the greatness of the United States of America and felt that he was "called" to protect his country and it's soldiers with his special skills.

I feel like I knew Chris personally after reading the book. He was an amazing and blessed man. America needs to see, read, and learn what a true hero is. We live in such a make believe world where extreme is the normal, and entitlement is okay. We really need to revisit our morals and see if we're on the right path. Chris Kyle had his priorities right most of his life and thank God he did. Buy this book.

Amazing how well the author explains how Kyle was "The Legend". I felt like I was listening to an old friend tell the story. I am grateful and proud to have had a fellow Texan serve so well for our country. God bless his family, Texas and the USA.

Great short read. In these times we throw around words like Genius or Hero far to often. People idolize other people for simply being on TV or catching a ball. We should reserve these labels for people who truly deserve them. For people like Chris Kyle and so many other service men and woman. Thank you to all that served at any time in this nations history.

I read American Sniper this past week, saw the movie last night (and cried at the end) and have been devouring the Internet to learn more about Chris Kyle since. This book had many good stories and insights not seen in Chris's book. Unfortunately I would guess that 80% of the content of this book already existed in various articles and stories in the Internet. So out of 70 pages, only perhaps 15 of them had something that I had not already read. The author took what seems like half the book from his own magazine articles in D Magazine. You can read them on line. I don't want to sound too critical because you can tell the author really thinks the world of Chris and wants us to see that too. I did. Thank you.

This book is amazing. I read his other book American Sniper and it was a good read about him and the war. This book was more personal. It told about his life away from the war and what he tried to do.

Bought this book just after reading Chris Kyle's American Sniper. What a sad day for the Navy SEAL family!! Anyway, this book serves Chris Kyle's legend very well. Wish it didn't need to be written.....

Very good book from someone outside the Kyle camp. Personally I think there could have been a little more detail. But, I've read a lot on Chris so someone else might enjoy the way it is without the extra. I have recommended others to read this as a great and direct overview.

I had previously read Chris' autobiography "American Sniper", I was deeply moved by his murder while trying to help a sick veteran. He was a true hero who was able to "reset his mind" so to speak, and adapt to life after the horrors of war. His beautiful wife Taya and their children will always have a special place in my heart. How sad to lose a hero like Chris. Especially at a time when our country needs men like him so badly.

Having read American Sniper I wanted to look at his life from another perspective. Michael Mooney allowed us to view Chris Kyle through the eyes and hearts of those who knew and loved him. We got to see the "soft" and "loving" side of a husband, father, son, brother and friend. Yes, he led a violent life serving his country, but you saw in this book the depth of his love for this nation and willingness to go to any length to protect her and his brothers in arms. Although his time here on earth was relatively short, his impact was indeed legendary. God bless you Chris. You are sorely missed and won't be forgotten.

The word hero is thrown around casually. Anyone who lives through a disaster is given that label. Chris Kyle was the real deal and this book gives you a look inside hills life. The world is a lesser place...

After watching the movie, American Sniper, I wanted to read the book. It did not disappoint. During these difficult times in our country, it is good to know we still have heroes and true patriotic Americans.

I enjoyed this book, It is a good introduction by Michael J. Mooney to read before Chris Kyle's book "American Sniper" which I will be ordering after reading Taya's book "American Wife". This book sets the stage for Chris growing up and his ambitions as a youth.
