Review:This book speaks to our generation of war fighters, particularly our operators. The insight provided gives voice to "our" war. I had the pleasure of being a POG that served with a recon company (ps, I'm writing this from my wife's account) of some of the most outstanding Marines I have ever known. For those that have never served, this book can provide a little bit of understanding as to why our nations best fighters answered the call, and why so many have a hard time once they're out. The book,... Read more
Review:I really like Erika Jayne, but this book was incredibly uninteresting (for a book about someone interesting). I had extremely high expectations for this book that totally collapsed after the first 3 dreary chapters. Save your money and just watch RHOBH. Read more
Review:This book is interesting; however, to brief. The author claims he will discuss issues later, but doesn't. The sources he used to write the book are good. Most people don't know that Hamilton laid the foundation of our economic system, our judicial branch of government and many other things. Read more
Review:I'm still reading this book. Because the author includes so much detail it isn't a fast reading book. Nonetheless, it full of information about Hamilton that you aren't likely to find in general history books. If you're willing to plow through all the details, it's a good source of info about one of the Nation's Founding Fathers. Read more
Review:SEAL of Honor is an excellent book, especially if you are looking for in depth background of SEAL training and the type of things you have to go through to get to the point of Lt Murphy. I kind of wish they got more into the life of Murphy, because as we all know, he is a true hero. I would not hesitate to recommend the book, however. If you are looking for a book about Operation Red Wings, I highly recommend "Lone Survivor", which was amazing ! Read more
Review:Excellent book. Well written in Naval terminology. As a NAVY brat I understood most of it. My father was onboard Carrier's fixing the shot up air craft. The USS Princeton was one of the Carrier's he was on. He never spoke of his time on board, so I love to read books such as this one to find out what it was really like. Thank you for the insight. Ralph G./ Read more
Review:A great first hand look from the front lines before the media was "embedded" by the militaries of the world. Read this after it was recommended in the Junior Officers Read Club and it was was a pleasant recommendation. A real look into the Heart of Darkness that was the Vietnam war. Read more
Review:A touching, funny, poignant personal account of Biden's long public service, from his point of view as a family man. I've been stringing this along as a "reading treat" whenever I need a pick-me-up at the end of a day. Makes one contemplate one's own life, and what's worth while. Read more
