Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters

Review:Very few people know about this book! I bought it for gifts and have my very own copy.

The Seamstress
The Seamstress

Review:I purchased this book after talking to someone at a car dealership!! She had told me about it and I thought it sounded interesting. It was better than I had thought it would be. This is a first hand account from a surviver. Some of the areas were glossed over but enough detail was given to get a good picture of what was happening and what these people lived through. A New History of the Second World War - The Storm of War
A New History of the Second World War - The Storm of War

Review:Outstanding on all counts. A finely detailed summary of all the decisions as to why Hitler lost the war. Plus the Japanese fiascos that gave us the upper hand early in the war. The atomic bomb was necessary but we would have won regardless. And I was just about to get drafted into the Pacific battles. Read more

Thank you, Ms. Lake, for sharing your story. A must read! Read more

Mary Astor and the Most Sensational Hollywood Scandal of the 1930s
Mary Astor and the Most Sensational Hollywood Scandal of the 1930s

Review:The title of this book is misleading in that this is not a copy of Mary Astor's diary. It is a book about the custody trial of her daughter, in which the diaries figured prominently, in that her husband threatened to use the diaries against her in order to show that she was unfit to have custody of their daughter. So the book is interesting, but the title is quite misleading.
As a vignette of old Hollywood, it is not bad. It makes Mary Aster look very human, not particularly good, not at a... Read more
