Review:This review has nothing to do with the writings of Spurgeon. I was very disappointed in the very small font size of the book. It looks like it was just copied from something else. I haven't been motivated to read it yet because of this. Read more
Review:A really great book that helps you think more deeply about God, Jesus, and the Purpose and Hope of Life. I do not agree with everything, but I do test scripture "to see if those things are so." I do not doubt John MacArthur's sincerity and find much enlightenment and depth of understanding in his writings. However, I disagree with him on Trinitarianism. I believe in One God, One Son of God, the Messiah, Jesus Christ. That is a major disagreement, I know, but I believe in the infallible Word... Read more
Review:Grace, I've come to believe can not be described. Like the limitations of physics where we can only know space or time of an atom, so grace is inexorable.
Strobel brings forth an incredible array of anecdotes and stores to exemplify and encapsulate a part of grace. Some are typical rock bottom redemption stories, others are what happens to the "good son" in the prodigal son story.
Every story touched me profoundly and I found myself literally weeping at several. That grace can caus... Read more
Review:Great book. Challenging as well. I've read all of Mr Batterson's books and find his writing style engaging and he has a way simplifying questionable Biblical issues.
Can't wait for his next one. Get to work Mark??? Read more
Review:I thought this book had some interesting perspectives although I have a problem with the author calling Mormons satanic. The practicing Mormons that I know are some of the most loving, kind, and Christlike people I have ever met. (Read Matthew 7:16 “You shall know them by their fruits.”) If you go to one of their services, you will find that everything that is taught there leads a person to Jesus Christ. I feel there are some truths mixed in with inaccuracies in this book. Other than that, I fin... Read more
Review:When Pigs Move In is a book everyone should read. Many people's lives are affected by demonic oppression and Don Dickerman gives a very Biblical perspective on the Power of the Holy Spirit to free people. His personal experience of being used by God to free thousands of people (including the Son of Sam Killer, David Berkowitz) from demonic influence is an unforgettable read. This book is a great example of how a Christian can use their God-given authority to change the lives of those oppressed... Read more
Review:Excellent! I give it to anyone desiring to better know who Jesus is, what He had to say on life issues we deal with every day and to see, (though He was God), His humanity and understand that He actually DID walk in our shoes. Thank you! Read more
Review:A combination of two of the most powerfully anointed books written in recent Christian history. A humbeling experience to say the least and one that will make you go... "Hummmmm..." Fall in love with the Savior all over again, learn to love all over again, learn! The words of this text will remain with you and continue to mend your heart probably for the rest of your life! Review:This is very informative and obviously a lot of research went into it. But, The Introduction is so convoluted I had to read it twice and It's still not clear. Once you get past the Introduction It's better except the author jumps all over the place and makes his ideas harder to follow. Read more
Review:Mr Youssef spends the first several chapters exploring our dilemma that Islam seems to be winning its thirteen-hundred-year campaign of world domination by conquering Christians, Jews and other infidels... exactly as God commanded Muhammad. ....and then (his solution) he uses the remaining 80 percent of his pages giving us a Sunday morning sermon telling us to be better Christians! I should have smelled a rat when the first thing I read in chapter one was an apology for his choice of words in... Read more
