Review:On January 2nd my husband passed away. I know he is with the Lord, but had a question for my pastor. His response was to do a Bible Study on this book. It has been very helpful for me and so I ordered the book for Kindle and the work book in print. I am sorry to say, I haven't finished the book although I have read a lot of it, because I also have several other books I am reading for homework. But I fully intend to finish the reading and then go back to do the work book as well. It is very... Read more
Review:Basically a repeat of everything I've read on the blog, at least in message. I don't read his blog often either. Less arrogant than other minimalists although he has a religious bent that may be bother some. Read his blog first, or any blogger/author to see if their style appeals to you, or check your library. I found I remove this book from my house with no trouble at all. Read more
Review:"Why Evolution Is True" is a well written, informative, very convincing defense of the truth and accuracy of evolution. The author, Jerry Coyne, does an excellent job of presenting a complex subject in a readable and understandable fashion. The book is filled with innumerable examples, which clarify and support the positions the author has taken.
The book is also quite persuasive of the author's position. Unlike many of the readers, who appear quite educated in this subject, I come to ... Read more
Review:This was the first book I finished. I never enjoyed reading but I just couldn't put this book down. I've read several books since and this is at the top of my list. Read it ask God for guidence and let the Holy Spirit lead you to victory through prayer. I also recommed the Three battle grounds by Francis Frangipane , and How to listen to God by Charles Stanley. Review:The McGraths purported to write a rational criticism of Dawkins' book. That would be a laudable aim if only they applied the same rationality to their proposition that "Not only is God not dead...he never seems to be more alive" to themselves. If the devices they used against Dawkins were turned against themselves, this book would be exposed as an utter failure. The authors criticised Dawkins'attempt to prove his point that science has discredited religion by the claim that there are many scient... Read more
Review:I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was the first book that I read by Os Guinness. I really enjoyed his discussion about the "poles of unbelief." People who are outside the Christian worldview and who seek to understand the worldview (as they may any religious worldview) vary to one pole or another (dilemma verse diversion). I thought this was a keen insight by Os. It's apparent that he has interviewed and interacted with those who have questions (and not opinions) about Christianity. He he... Read more
Review:This book was pretty amazing! GOD wanted this guy to live! It shows U GOD knows exactly where each of us is at all times! It was also pretty amazing that he didn't remember his visit to heaven until later. It changed his life that is for sure!? Read more
Review:This whole series was a great experience. I read all 13 & only the last one, Kingdom Come, was not as good as the first 12. It was not really needed, however it was good to find out some of the endings. Read more
Review:Geat that Pastor Jakes insists you read the book and then do the exercises in the workbook; if you don't then you will only wind up confusing yourself and hurting yourself because at 1st glance forgiving someone who really hurt you can appear that you are saying you deserved what they did. Read the book; work the exercises. It is working for me! Read more
Review:Certain books at the right time in personal development are worth their weight in Gold. This book reframes an understanding of the Christ so as to more clearly understand the true spiritual nature of the Christ and the path to walk. An amazing book at the right time. Read more
