Review:excellent book
this book helps a person figure out if he was anger issues that he himself does not know about
once a person can acknowledge these anger issues, there are some helpful treatment methods
this book is a heavy read for anyone that has anger issues, the english is easy but the emotional quantity is huge, read it with a beer. Read more
Review:I work in the addiction field, and have been looking for a book that simplifies the issues, and provides an action plan for change. This is it. It covers everything and explains it, too. It is incredible. Read more
Review:My wonderful caring school principal recommended this book to the staff as we have a population that is rather heavily burdened with poverty and other stresses. The book details the lives of several children, their histories and what Dr. Perry did to treat each child. What is incredible is the effect of poverty, neglect and abuse on the brain development. You need to read this if you work with children or parent them.... Read more
Review:I originally bought this for a friend of mine who gets pretty down in the dumps. She has a lot of challenges in her life, so I thought this workbook might be something she could use to try to feel a little less down on her bad days. After thumbing through it, I've decided to order a second copy for myself!! It is witty, clever, and thoughtful but down to earth and realistic. I get blue from time to time and stress out over things (don't we all!!) and think this book could help see me through tho... Read more
Review:The book arrived on time and was generally as described. However, upon reading it, the pages are now separating from the spine, which to me is a little more than "cosmetic". I have to be careful when opening and reading the chapters. Other than that, it's as described. Read more
Review:I am a psychotherapist working at a mental health agency. Working with many teen-age girls who are swept up by the media and their peers, only to fall and be hurt causes me to go further. In a group setting, we are working on self esteem without making Narcissistic personalities to improve the self-esteem. Core Self is most important, not the external. Forming the Core Self is more difficult in a society that says otherwise. It's a great book. Read more
Review:this book provides simple but effective ways of using mindfulness as a way to achieve inner happiness and self confidence. As a relatively absent minded person, I really appreciate the insights here and the effect I feel after just three weeks of meditation and mindfulness. though nowhere near a Zen aster yet, I feel more confident in myself, and know that there are more benefits to be reaped by making this a lifelong practice Read more
Review:I have read some really harsh reviews of this book but I say "it is not our job to judge". No one knows whatbthey would do unless they have actually been in the situation themselves. I think the author is being brutally honest in this book. He could have left out the unflattering parts but he did not. I was captivated by the overwhelming challenges this family is faced with every single day. I think this book gives a good look into this child's illness and daily life. Read more
Review:I lost my only child, my son, to schizoaffective disorder after years of trying to find the help he so desperately needed. He died from over-sedation in a state run mental health crisis unit. Maybe there is hope for others. This book should be required reading for every US citizen. Read more
Review:Pretty good book, feel like all single women need to read. It really helps you realize you need self-respect for a man to be able to respect you. Not really meaning BITCHES, but women who don't take nothing off nobody. Read more
