Review:Let me preface by saying I didn't open the gift set. I'm giving this 3 stars because the book itself is somewhat a miniature version of the original, size-wise. Look at the dimensions carefully. I had assumed it would be the same as the regular book, with the added bonus of a CD, but this was not the case. Review:The title is misleading. The stories, if read aloud, feel like an eternity...my just turned three year old gets bored of them after 5 minutes, and we are not through with the story. Also, the pictures on the cover don't match up with the pictures in the story so that's frustrating when your child wants you to read "that one," referring to a picture. Read more

Review:Great characters in this book. Bellairs gives the reader enough of their quirky and endearing personalities, but doesn't burden the flow of the story with unnecessary amounts of detail. It's appropriate for young readers since the plot moves right along with intriguing developments without too many complex details to mire them. Read more

Review:This book arrived in perfect time, perfect condition, and perfect content. Everything as it should be. The only issue is a two inch wide one inch tall addition to the cover proclaiming it earth friendly and printed on recycled paper. While I'm all in favor of this project, especially for this book, it's not a sticker, so it cannot be removed. It very much detracts from the classic cover of a wonderful book. Read more
