Review:Absolutely beautiful. I love the illustrations. The CD is a bonus and I will be reading this book to my grandchild while the CD plays in the background. This song has always brought tears to my eyes and I treasure this book. Read more
Review:Contains all of the lyrics. The annotations are brief and the style of organization is not a narrative one per se, although it is arranged in chronological order of when they were performed. There are over 500 pages but it's not a "read". Robert Hunter shines through nicely throughout as a writer and person, and of course some Jerry quotes are there and these both help to warm the book. I just thought that the annotations would be a lot more interesting with quotes from people who knew or played... Read more
Review:Great, insightful book. Some of it is common sense, while other parts are eye-opening realities that as the author, Mr. Simmons states - are politically incorrect, but nevertheless the way business works sometimes. I highly recommend any aspiring entrepreneur to read this book. Read more
Review:A very straightforward approach that is easy to understand.
Keep in mind that just because you can tell one note from another doesn't mean you can just play any tune.
You still have to practice, practice, practice!
I wish I could get a hard copy to have handy. Using the IPAD is a pain. Read more
Review:Although this book has potential, I found the writing to be stilted, the characters needed more development, and the plot developed slowly. I would have continued reading to see whether it grew on me, but decided to stop after three instances of objectionable language in only three chapters. Read more
Review:For lovers of the musical "Wicked", this book is a must-have! The look of the book from the padded, distressed appearance of the cover, the foxing on the pages, the photos, the history of the show... it all adds up to a wonderful read and a great addition to other theatre books. Read more
Review:Nice intermediate arrangements. Many of the songs keep changing keys which is good for my brain and makes it extra fun (but sometimes tricky). Some are hard (one has 5 sharps!) but the arrangements are so well done it's worth the work! Read more
Review:I am enjoying this book. It's more about encounters with people. If looking for a mixing tutorial this is not it, but if you are interested in the career steps of Glyn Johns and who he worked with its worth reading. Read more
Review:Outstanding background and history of a true music legend. Being a fan, I thought I know everything about Charlie Daniels. As the book proved, I was wrong. Charlie provides insight on his early days of music in the 50's and 60's. It is hard to believe a musician that cannot read tables or music sheets can be a sought after session musician. Charlie plays from the heart with a vast knowledge of his instruments and whole lot of soul. Charlie is a family man that treats all of his long time employe... Read more
Review:Not eloquently written, but full of many details about Travis that most people wouldn't know. The in depth recollection of his past put on paper really brings it to life for the reader. Much more respect for Travis as a drummer and a human being after reading this! Read more
