John Lennon: The Life
John Lennon: The Life

Review:This biography begins with John's childhood, family and friends. It follows him through school and into his career with the Beatles and afterwards. Anecdotes from dozens of close friends and acquaintances along the way give insight into how he was feeling at a given time. There are new details of common knowledge, new perspectives of well known stories and new bits of info that could shock you. Some fans might find certain parts hard to accept.

This book neither glorifies nor bastardiz... Read more

A Story from the New Testament World - The Lost Letters of Pergamum
A Story from the New Testament World - The Lost Letters of Pergamum

Review:This book was recommended as a look into the ancient life of the early Christians. It was a ridiculous farce of 'letters' written between men that would never have happened. The letters were very short and superficial whereas any effort to communicate in writing in ancient times would have been worthy of the effort to deliver the letter, not trivia bouncing back and forth. I Am Brian Wilson: A Memoir
I Am Brian Wilson: A Memoir

Review:Brian's story was very interesting as a lifelong Beach Boys fan, but the storytelling jumps around chronologically quite a bit. It might be the way Brian thinks, which is cool, but I found it tough at times to know where we were at. Read more

Conversations About Life and Comedy - Sick in the Head
Conversations About Life and Comedy - Sick in the Head

Review:Loved the timespan and perspectives-amazing how Judd, even at a young age, was able to engage in such a personal way. His interviews remind me of why Howard Stern's interviews really work-personal and engaging -they are both truly interested in what makes people tick. Thanks for a great read! Read more

Punk Rock Blitzkrieg: My Life as a Ramone
Punk Rock Blitzkrieg: My Life as a Ramone

Review:This is an absolute wonderful read. Marky Ramone gives great detail of his life as a Ramone, and before he became part of the legendary punk band. For me, as a younger listener, who was born in the 80's, and can vaguely remember the videos, it's great to read about his life then and now and see what it was like to experience the punk era and to work with people like Dee Dee, Joey, and Johnny, whose personalities seemed to clash. Marky seemed to be the person to calm everyone down.

The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Best-Kept Secret
The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Best-Kept Secret

Review:Interesting book about 60's studio musicians, The Wrecking Crew, in LA making hits for many groups. Had a chance to take Bass lessons from Carol Kaye, what a great and talented lady! Glad all these studio musicians are finally getting some credit for all the hits they created and the music that touched so many people's lives. Read more
