The Garner Files: A Memoir
The Garner Files: A Memoir

Review:Wonderful read. He lived an American life much like the Wright Brothers a generation earlier. The current generation is less fortunate to be without virtues but greater material comfort. I was intrigued that he didn't like Republicans or as he said, "I don't understand how they think." I feel the same way about Democrats. Garner was a great movie and TV star and I will miss him. Bless you. Read more

The Best of Us: A Memoir
The Best of Us: A Memoir

Review:...particularly The Good Daughters, and after I read this memior, I read the novel she wrote during the time covered in the memoir: Under the Influence. It was a bit far-fetched, but I enjoyed it too.

That's why I heartily wish Maynard would stick to fiction.

There were so many things in this book I wish I didn't know! SPOILERS...: the slip and slide way she lives; the way she took over this man's life after she realized disappointing her was his worst fear; that she insisted on... Read more

Wind, Sand and Stars (Harvest Book)
Wind, Sand and Stars (Harvest Book)

Review:St.-Exupery led a life full of adventure and danger, and he chronicles it in an engaging way. And all the adventures and descriptions of people and things give rise to philosophizing or musing on life and the human condition. Wonderfully well-written to judge by the translation. Very glad to have read this book.

The Keys
The Keys

Review:They Really dont want you to read this book. Application of this book to your personal life will give you the key to open doors. The mind is very powerful. Khaled used his mind to drive him to never fail to push his talents inside those doors. I look at it as the "key" was in the slot but he bust the door down at times and it works because "they" didnt want him in. #Majorkey Read more

The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis
The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis

Review:Having been a professional photographer, my interest in Edward Curtis has always been keen, but this book is more than just another biography of yet another historic artist. You will be transported through a most ugly American era and it's treatment of the native americans. Edward Curtis endeavoured to bring light into this dark corner of history and was scarcely recognized for his incredible life's work. Read more

and Other Four-Letter Words - A Memoir of Love
and Other Four-Letter Words - A Memoir of Love

Review:I am a regular visitor to Ausiello's site 'TVLine.com', and this book really endeared me to him. He shares openly and honestly about his life and major events in it. And he does it in a way that is funny, witty, and then very poignant. I felt enriched after reading it, and grateful that Mr. Ausiello was willing to share his life in such an intimate way with us. Surprised by Joy Revised edition

Review:To one knowledgeable in literature this would be a fascinating book. I missed a lot by my lack of knowledge and unwillingness to take the time to do related research. Hope to read this again when I can spend more time enjoying the process of conversion. Read more

Oprah: A Biography
Oprah: A Biography

Review:Many of the same events, issues, discussions appeared more than once and for most of the book, once was enough. Although my opinion of her may be changed as the result of reading this biography, and the information depicted was interesting, my attention waned as it seemed the events were rehashed again and again; book probably could have been condensed by half as a result. Not one for the "must read again" list. Read more

Strong Looks Better Naked
Strong Looks Better Naked

Review:I thought from the beginning to the middle was great advice as to what the reader is looking for, insights for weight loss. After that it just got really boring and went down hill for me. Lots of common sense. But I do love the sections on actual tips for weight loss, goals, etc. Read more
