Hysterically true tales from a comedian's haywire life (COMEDY

Review:I loved it! Laughed so hard I cried. Rodney takes eveyday things, that happens to most of us, and turns them into something hilarious! I have to say his sense of humor is a little warped but it's been great getting a little glimpse of what's goning on in Rodney's mind. Can't wait for the next book! Read more

Just A FEW People I Want to Punch in the Throat (Vol #1)
Just A FEW People I Want to Punch in the Throat (Vol #1)

Review:I love funny reads and I yearn to punch people in the throat constantly throughout my day so this seemed like a great quick fix for my morning commute but I feel like I want to ask for 20 minutes of my life back. The story telling is great but the content was boring and I found myself skimming through the chapters to skip to the "funny" parts. Read more

We Are Never Meeting in Real Life.: Essays
We Are Never Meeting in Real Life.: Essays

Review:I found a few of the blog entries funny. Most of the rest just seemed to depict the cynicism and sadness the author appears to suffer from. And I'm not sure why so many authors feel the more vulgar words and descriptions they have the better. In my humble opinion, that is a poor substitute for quality writing. There are many ways to get a point across without having to use excessive amounts of poor language. I'm amazed by glowing reviews by people who profess to have a good command of the E... Read more

Underwood, Scotch, and Wry
Underwood, Scotch, and Wry

Review:I got the book because it was free and other reviews were good for it. It looked funny with a grumpy professor as the endearing main character. It started off good, but by the end I just wanted him to pay for all his consciousness and stupid mistakes. That would give me more satisfaction than having him walk out of the court yelling to all his students "drinks are on me!". I just couldn't take the rock star professor when I was all done. It was a short read though so I didn't have to take him to... Read more

Slightly Profane and Entirely Logical Answers to Modern Etiquette Dilemmas
Slightly Profane and Entirely Logical Answers to Modern Etiquette Dilemmas

Review:Not a good as her other books. This is her take on an etiquette books and really it's a bit lack luster (sorry Celia). Also she gets into politics a little more than I'd like and it's a bit off putting. I bought this book as a good read for after a surgery and 100 pages in I just couldn't go any further. Maybe it ends in a spectacular way, but I doubt it. That said... I think I am going to force myself to finish this not so good book. Read more

One Reality Television Addict's Attempt to Discover If Not Being A Dumb Ass Is t he New Black; Or

Review:A lot has changed for Jen Lancaster since she first started writing, and in "My Fair Lazy" she realizes that not all of it is for the better. In a world overrun with reality television, is it really acceptable to just be less stupid than those people on TV? Not so much. In her new memoir, Jen shares her antics and adventures while working to become more cultured and escaping the comfort zone into which she has fallen. It's not always sunshine and roses, but it's always witty, insightful, and... Read more

A Useful and Improving Almanack of Information Including Astonishing Recipes from Terry Pratchett's Discworld (Discworld Series)

Thud!: A Novel of Discworld
Thud!: A Novel of Discworld

Review:If you are starting with Pratchett, you should not start with this one, as the references to previous novels will be difficult to understand. It has its fair share of wisdom and phrases you will wish you had come up with yourself. Read more

The Switch
The Switch

Review:In my research to discover which books are considered the best of the best, using the star rating system reviews written by the wonderful readers of the world on Amazon, I came across this book "The Switch", by Lynsay Sands. This book appealed to my tastes and after many months of attempting to track it down, in person (because the hunt is the fun part!), I finely found my quarry in a used book store. Wow, was it a shock to finely find it! It was very hard to find because it's one of those belov... Read more

The LawDog Files
The LawDog Files

Review:Overall good collection of stories and exploits posted on the internet by of the Lawdog, a Sheriff's Deputy in a rural Texas town. Very funny and a good look at all the stuff law enforcement puts up with. My favorites were anything about Big Mama and her family and the Pogonip. Interesting that he says women make excellent peace officers, as long as an officer with draggy knuckles is close by. But what if the draggy knuckles officer needs similar backup? Read more
