This book had me in stitches bright from the start. I felt secondhand embarrassment for Laura. Luke and Laura are so great together though they don't start out that way. When it rains it pours for Laura, but soon rainbow is going to come. I loved this whole book from beginning to end. If you want a feel good hilarious book then I highly recommend reading this one. Review:A football player is found murdered and the suspect, Kenny, is asking for Andy. Andy gathers his team together to start defending Kenny. Was Troy killed because of a drug deal gone bad? Or did it have something to do with a secret pact that Kenny, Troy and others made when they were in high school?
In the meantime, Hollywood wants to make a movie of Willie's story (he spent seven years in prison and was on death's row for a murder he didn't commit until Andy won his freedom in a retria... Read more
Review:Andy Carpenter is my ideal man: funny, loves sports, smart, caring, rich :). Love reading this series of books and especially like trying to guess who the "bad guy" is...even when I figure out, it does not matter, the fun is in the journey. Read more
Review:Andy is trying to move on after Laurie, his investigator and girlfriend, moved four months ago to become a police officer in a small town in Wisconsin she grew up in. Then he gets a call from her ... a young local has been arrested for murdering his ex-girlfriend and her friend and Laurie wants him to be his lawyer. Andy and his dog, Tara, head to Findlay to see what he can do.
The two women who had been murdered were from a religious neighbouring town that likes to keep their affairs p... Read more
Review:The plot consisted of a double mystery that gradually coalesced and I enjoyed the humorous tone. The author concentrated on the mystery and didn't dwell on gore, violence or torture. Though there were some elements that seemed unlikely (can lawyers really get away with some of these shenanigans in the courtroom?), it was generally well-written and I will read more of Rosenfelt's stories. Review:I very much enjoyed this entertaining and delightful collection of lectures, talks and essays by the world-renown and sorely missed Professor Feynman, Nobel Prize winning physicist, idiosyncratic genius and one of the great men of the twentieth century.
I particularly enjoyed the subtle yet unmistakable way he scolded the people at NASA for putting their political butts before the safety of the space program they were managing in his famous "Minority Report to the Space Shuttle Challenger... Read more
Review:I love Dostoyevsky. I studied most of his books at the university. So the two stars are not for Dostoevsky, I just want to be clear on this. The two stars are for the poor translation of Eva Martin. It's so bad I did not even finish the book. Strange sentences, poorly constructed, unsophisticated language - at least in my opinion. Will try again with a different digital translation. Read more
Review:I absolutely loved this book. It was engaging, interesting and easy to read. I felt like I was a part of all the fun of the daily show and interesting characters without having to do any work. If you love the daily show it is an absolutely fascinating read. A few controversies were glossed over and I would have liked to learn more but overall I loved learning about all the characters. I loved the format with quotes from each relevant character professing the plot. Love love love this book (and t... Read more
Review:Chance, the mentally handicapped hero of this story, has spent all his life working in the garden. Having never been on the other side of the wall surrounding the house he is living in, he has learned everything he knows about the world and its people from TV. Suddenly launched into the real world, dominated by money and power, Chance accidentally becomes a media superstar. Due to his metaphorical speeches about nature, wrongly interpreted as political statements by everybody, he becomes very po... Read more
