7 Comedy Habits to Become a Better (and Funnier) Public Speaker
7 Comedy Habits to Become a Better (and Funnier) Public Speaker

Review:Seriously, it's great to finally get a practical guide to combine comedy and business. I take improv classes and see huge benefits (applied to presentations, speeches, and communication in general). Your insights on joke structure and other "insider view" perspectives were extremely helpful. And it didn't hurt that you entertained us with Guatemalan-house-ruining-via-beer-funnels stories sprinkled in. You definitely practice what you preach. Bravo. Read more

A Parent's Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse
A Parent's Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

Review:As a parent I absolutely loved this book and will cherish its wisdom in the event of a zombie crisis so I can keep my kids safe, lol. I plan to stock up on legos and jacks to sprinkle around the floor so they really can be used as a defense mechanism but I draw the line at getting a minivan. I have REFUSED for years to be a Minivan Mom, I’ll stick to my SUV.

It really is very tongue in cheek while providing survival tips but it somehow still came off as a good parenting book which I didn’... Read more

The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks
The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks

Review:If you are expecting an expansion on or a similar title to World War Z (which i loved), do not purchase this book. This is a graphic novel with extremely little dialouge /plot / story. Most of the stories start and end the same way:
Step 1: Zombies?
Step 2: Zombies!
Step 3: What zombies? / They were never heard from again (Dun Dun Dunnnnnn!)

The pictures were interesting to look at (and from what i can tell, good for a graphic novel), but i honestly read this book in it's ent... Read more

Men Are Better Than Women
Men Are Better Than Women

Review:An interesting read... but having a daughter and two sons my reaction was mixed. My sons brought it to my attention and my teenage daughter thought it was hillarious - which suprised me. Masterson is an entertaining writer and although the book seems to be satirical, it makes a lot of good points (according to my children). I'm a little alarmed at the brutality of the content... but I had difficulty finding ways to discredit what Masterson says in general. I believe if women would start inve... Read more

A Horse Walks into a Bar
A Horse Walks into a Bar

Review:This is almost two hundred pages of repetitive stand up boring comic chatter. . Like the audience that finally walks out I wish I had closed the book much earlier. A good concept and maybe a good short story. Certainly not a long endless novel. Read more

Wildflower
Wildflower

Review:The grammar in this book is awful.
And the stories literally jump all over the place, with no rhyme or reason as to why.

Yet...it's endearing.
You can literally hear Drew, in our valley girl-esque voice, whispering these stories to you as you read.

And because I happen to love Drew Barrymore (we're even the same age), I really enjoyed her off-the-wall stories. This book makes her seem less "daughter of the great Barrymore legacy" and more "stay at home mom with a wild past."<... Read more

or Too Naughty for The New Yorker - 293 Cartoons That Were Too Dumb

Review:I can now easily see why these cartoons were rejected. Too drunk htey may have been, htey were actually mostly not too dark and some of them were naughtier than others BUT the primary reason was probably thatt hey were really not very good and should have been rejected anyway. Read more

The Complete Cartoons of the New Yorker (Book & CD)

Review:If you have read the New Yorker Magazine then you really will need no prodding in purchasing this fine set...for those of you who have never experienced New Yorker cartoons, I have two words for you...CHARLES ADDAMS....Charles Addams, the creator of the ADDAMS FAMILY, has many of his finest cartoons housed within this book and CDs....His brand of macabre humor served as the foundation, which Larson, Wilson, Kliban, and the rest, built their careers upon....this intro to Charles Addams work is on...
