Humor & Satire
Review:In a departure from her many forensic thriller books, Patricia Cornwell has written in 'Isle of Dogs' a silly satire of the Commonwealth of Virginia, including Tangier Island. She skewers the First Family and the state police among others. 'Dogs' is the third book that features Andy Brazil, now a state trooper, and Judy Hammer, now superintendent of the Virginia State Police. (They were also in 'Southern Cross' and 'The Hornet's Nest.') It took me several days to finish this overlong book, unlik... Read more
Review:Great sexy story with well developed main and supporting characters. Topped off with just enough drama and a small dash of angst! Favorite line..." I would kiss you, but I don't want our beards to tangle" ! Funny and sweet! Read more
Review:I was enjoying this book right up until the party at the end, and then WTAF?! Nothing -- NO THING -- about that party scene is remotely realistic or even normal, even in the world of adult romance novels where nearly anything goes. It's left me feeling disappointed and kind of disgusted. What a shame. This was the first and last book I'll read by this author. Read more
Review:1. I love how Penny Reid writes. Her characters and dialogue never disappoint.
2. I was hooked from scene one - very clever and entertaining.
3. I should have waited for all the books in the series to have been released before reading. I knew this!!
4. My weakness for Penny has left me annoyed with an incomplete story.
5. I'm going to re-review after I've finished all three books. I can't give higher rating now based on 1/3 of a story.
6. Penny's books are at the top of my list in... Read more
Review:Penny is right on. This is real, in-character conflict. (Albeit on a GRAND scale.). This is believable interpersonal devastation. Way to go, Reid. Let's get another early release, shall we? Say, tomorrow? Read more
Review:I smiled like a giddy Cheshire cat, laughed aloud and chuckled in my scarf over this book. At work, I glanced at the Kindle app on my mobile when no one was looking – well, maybe they were looking, but I was just ‘checking my messages’, all right!?!
I luuuurve books about people who have a shared past, and who run into each other after having been out of contact with each other for several years. Especially if one of them is an über-hot Italian with gorgeous green eyes and a body to die f... Read more

Review:This series just got better and better as it went. Normally the opposite is the norm, but in this case each book outdoes the other. I loved how the characters evolved and grew throughout the story. Wonderfully well written and balanced between erotic, funny, heartwarming and romantic. I loved it! Read more
Review:I have really enjoyed the Knitting in the City series by Penny Reid with her strong characters and clever plots. I find myself laughing and even crying at times during each of these stories. Ninja at First Sight is a wonderful introduction to Fiona and Greg's story. I pre-ordered Happily Ever Ninja and waited impatiently for its release. Read more
Review:Anyone who is married for more than five years will totally get the dynamics of the struggle of making a marriage work, but Penny Reid is the first author I've read that was able bring to life a story about real marriage and still make it into an enjoyable romance novel. Highly recommend!! Read more
