I loved the story line! I completely fell in love with Drake. He wasn't a domineering jerk, but was still a tough guy. I skimmed the sex scenes, apparently I really don't care for the bdsm aspect, but I didn't want to put it down because I really wanted to know what happened with the characters. It was one that I really wasn't positive that they would end up together in the end.

Right down to the sex on her period...but despite the similarities it was still a good book on its own. I hate Kate's friend! What a b$#@h! How could you claim to be someone's best friend and blackmail them? She was a real piece of work.
Dr. Drake sounds yummy. I do like the storyline but the storyline could go a little deeper into each aspect of the relationship.

Usually I devour these kinds of books in one sitting. For some reason this one I had to force myself to continue reading. Only got to mid 200 before giving up. There are just too many good and enjoyable books to spend time on not enjoyable ones
Bound to Submit (Blasphemy) :: Deliverance (NYC Doms) :: Love Another Day (Masters and Mercenaries Book 14) :: Protecting His Own (Masters of the Shadowlands Book 11) :: Servicing the Target (Masters of the Shadowlands) (Volume 10)

Talk about a Great book boyfriend..He had so many layers.. but Kate peeled all those layers one by one and underneath it all was a handsome, sexy and an incredible man.. loved it and can't wait to read the next book

Kind of a silly book. The protagonists, dom & sub, are probably destined to fall in love. There's no tension, and really nothing other than a formulaic plot. Who cares whether they fall in love? Not I. This is not much more than a come on to buy the rest of the series. Sorry, but it's not that interesting.

I'd never read this author before but enjoyed the book thoroughly. A sweet love story with a little darkness just enough to keep it interesting. No pain. No humiliation. Very tame actually. I liked the characters and their backstories. And a little bit of danger to keep me wondering.

Normally I enjoy longer books but this one dragged on with redundant sex scenes very similar to 50 Shades except he didn't seem to be a very good dominant. She was curious about the doctor and his lifestyle but her friend was fearful and threatened to expose her and him. There was a lot of preaching the lifestyle and I was disappointed in the resolution with her friend.

I was really surprised by this book. I keep thinking, here we go again with another FSOG. I was wrong about that. There was a nice story to it and not consummated by sex. Oh there is that and it HOT!!! I was happy to see that the book gave Drake and Kate a story beyond that. I also liked how they didn't make them get all sexual every few pages. They didn't' feel the need to constantly repeat the same thing over and over. If you want a nice hot read that isn't overly sexed than this is your book.

Ok, who needs Dr McDreamy when there is Dr Drake!!!!! Let me you if the neurosurgeons that I used to work with were anything like him I'd still be in the OR:) . This book had me hooked from page one, I stayed up way too late on a work night......loved both the story and the characters......know what I'll be doing tonight.....book two, Dr Drake and a bottle of red wine!

Not the worst book I have read, but nothing about it stands out for me. While Drake certain likes his kink, his dominance just did not feel genuine for me, it felt more like him playing a role. There were several plot points that came and went with no resolution.

Good not great. Had some steamy scenes but the plot was a little bit predictable and at times seemed to just be the same thing over and over again. I am an avid reader so I thought it was worth a read but not on my list of books I would read again.

This book is a treasure. Beautifully written, with potentially prickly issues sensitively explored. The resolution scene/conversation at the end? One of the best I've ever read; oh, the words that came out of Drake's mouth...scrumptious!

The premise of the book was good - grad student looking to write thesis on the lifestyle finds a dom to help her understand. However, the thesis doesn't ever get written, and she really isn't all that interested in immersing herself in the lifestyle - she want the hot doctor for a boyfriend so she is willing to dabble. He isn't really that deep into the lifestyle, either, so it really comes off as BDSM for high schoolers. I'd skip this unless you get it for free.

Kate and Drake are wonderful, sexy and sweet. I appreciate the author's time to explain their past and explain the sources of their insecurities. She utilized her secondary characters well. I would have love to learn more about their fathers, those relationships and their relationships with their children. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book was a fun, mature read. Dawn, the supportive friend of Katherine, went a bit far (even for someone who's been through something awful in her past and has never worked through it) and I have to wonder if she might become her best friend's stalker in the future. I loved the two main characters, and will probably check out what else this author has written (when I finally have my list of books under better control than I have recently.

I usually read thriller/espionage genre but thought I'd try something different. However I found the erotic passages became redundant and almost gave up at about 80 percent of the novel. The ending provided some redemption as one of the main characters realized love is more important than titillating bdsm .

I thoroughly loved this book. It took a long time for them to meet. Then they had a lot of obstacles to overcome. It was sexy, romantic, funny, and I disliked her friend for trying to stop them from seeing each other. I understood why she felt the way she did, but I thought she was being unreasonable. I didn't want to put it down until I seen how it was going to end. Now I want to continue to read the rest of their story. I would recommend this for anyone who likes a great sexy, romantic book that is intense and keeps you reading till the end

This story was a little of everything....Romantic, sweet and definitely sexy...Light BDSM made it even more interesting...Really liked the main characters, Drake and Kate. He is a surgeon who is a Dem and she is a student who starts out doing research on the Dem/sub lifestyle and gets hooked up with Drake for the research project. Research turns into a personal journey for Katie and Drake and it was fun experiencing it with them.

"The Agreement" is "Drake Restrained" from Kate's point of view. Drake breaks down her barriers while she instigates the erosion of his. If you read both, I would recommend reading Drake's version first. His back story informs Kate's journey throughout; and, I think, gives "The Agreement" more color.

The underlying story is kind of sweet, but nothing about this book is particularly good. The H is not much of an alpha. The h is not unusually engaging. The BFF is miserable. There is too much dragging on and detail. This would be a better short story than a full length novel.

This book was very well written. You fall in love with Kate. Get angry with Dawn and then feel for her. Drake becomes this fantasy man most submissive women want imbedded into every inch of them. But when the two come together the book explodes into a story line you can not put Down.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a true romance, yes graphic, as expected, but many unexpected twists kept me reading. This is a very well written book. The story is engaging not just explicit. You feel like you know the characters. They are easy to relate to. If you like erotic romance I highly recommend this story

Hot & romantic story. I had a hard time putting the book down. Drake is such a sexy guy who has everything. Everything except a whole relationship with Kate. Their behind closed doors rendezvous satisfies both their D/s roles but Kate wants more & can't get it. To top it off, her so called best friend wants to expose their relationship. This is a must read for all you closet & not so closet D/s fans like me.

Was disappointed by another short story or partial story that passes itself off as a book leaving you hanging to try to get you to buy more stories. I didn't like if enough to invest in finding out the rest of the story.

At first I thought that this book was just another knock off of fifty shades of grey. Once I got a little way into it i was pleasantly surprised. Although there are shades of grey, it is a nice original story.

I absolutely loved this story of Drake and Kate. Her feminist ways trying to be a good "Catholic girl" in her sexual experiences and his nature to control things but at the same time not wanting to blend his 2 lifestyles together, made this a wonderful match of characters. He is this strong neurosurgeon not to mention HOT. I like the elements of BDSM but it didn't go into hardcore BDSM. I do have to add... I did not like the best friend, just because well, she is a bitch. :) I love S.E. Lund's Dominion Series, but I have to say this was a very strong start at her Contemporary Romance writing abilities.

This was a very enjoyable read. The story carries you through the journey Kate and Drake go through to get to their happily ever after. I liked that he was a Dom but not into all the hard core kink. Kate took a while to truly understand what it was exactly that she needed. I enjoyed their story and the author did a great job of delivering what the reader needed to stay interested. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful way to be introduced to BDSM. Drake, a well off surgeon, band singer, and player of guitars, philanthropist, and into bedroom games meets Kate at one of her fathers fund raisers. You'll be on edge waiting to read what's happening next.

average quality of writing, average storyline. Just not a very interesting book. Its erotic literature so I did not expect it to be award winning fiction but even the erotic stuff was just so so. I will not be purchasing book 2.

Good book, good story line, not so much interested in reading the other books in this series. After starting this book I keep looking to see how much more I had until it was over and sometimes skipping ahead. Whilst it was not terrible, it was not great either.

Doctor chasing after a girl who wants to "learn" about BDSM. They fall for each other despite wanting to keep this part of his life separate from work, leisure, etc. Ok story. It was too long for my taste. I was losing interest. I wanted to finish this book so I could say that I finished it. The back and forth relationship/off and on again relationship didn't appeal to me. The reason this got the 3 rating was because the main male character was so dang sexy.
I could not relate to the main female character Katherine. She started to become what I dislike in a character. She acted like a 12 year old that hadn't had sex before. She was asking too many freaking questions and talking at the most inopportune time. That is what gets a story a one star. She brought nothing to the book to me. And once she did agree to be the submissive to the fine Dr. Drake she act like she didn't know what was going on. Like she didn't research anything and didn't know what to expect and this was her first time around the block. That sickened me!!! One everything happened she couldn't put this type of activity under the disguise of research because once Drake put in down on her she didn't even talk about her paper anymore. Katherine just tried to seem moral and innocent, like a good Catholic girl. She just didn't want her image in her father's eyes (or anyone else's) to be tarnished. Hypocrite!!!
Katherine played games with Drake. She had a man who had his stuff together, who was hot, who was CONTINUALLY voiced that he wanted her, and was a good...great...excellent...extraordinary in bed. What else could she want? He tried to open up to his whole experience with him. He was trying to make her comfortable in her own skin. That's the kind of man any woman would want.
Drake is a man!!! I really didn't get a dominate vibe from him. He knows how to make a woman feel like a woman. Drake liked Katherine from the get-go. He broke a lot of rules for her. At times he even became desperate. He basically chased her. A man doesn't chase sex. If he just wanted sex then he would have left her alone and moved to the next willing woman. A man doesn't chase a hole (unless it's made of gold...which I doubt) but chases someone or something that can bring value to him or is whole in herself/itself. He always showed Katherine he was serious about her. He didn't play games. I loved when he talked to her about what he would do to her; he was straight to the point.
I liked how he kept offering himself to her. He made himself available to her over and over again. When he sensed something was wrong he was on his way to her. He had me when he came to her place in his work scrubs. He was saying she was just that important. He told her, "I'm still all yours, if you want me."
The other female character that got under my skin was Katherine's so called friend Dawn. She was a total hater. I understand what she was doing and where she was coming from but it is too far when you threaten that friendship. She also tells Katherine that if she lets Drake do this to her that something is wrong with her. That's not what you are supposed to tell your best friend, especially if you think she has lost her mind over a dude.
One thing that irked me (other than the female characters) was that the author referred to the relationship and what Drake and Katherine was doing to a kink. I really didn't like that word. A kink is defined as a quirk in behavior or an unusual sexual preference. There is nothing unusual about sex between a man and a woman. This was normal for them. That word just turned me off.
I wouldn't read the second book. I was surprised there was one.
