The stories in this book are very short and limite. “Good Night Stories of Rebel Girls” is a similar book but better. It covers girls from all over the world and different periods of time. My girls and I have fun reading it.

I pre-ordered two copies: one for myself and another for my 8-year-old. I've since purchased three additional copies for my daughter to take as gifts to her friends' birthday parties. The illustrations are lovely, and the women featured within are well-chosen representatives of "13 American women who changed the world." Some, like Harriet Tubman, are well-known and expected, but others, like Maria Tallchief, I had never heard of. From doctors to activists, I appreciate the diversity and believe each young girl reading will find someone with whom they can identify.
