Creed was one of my favorite groups to listen to. When they stopped performing and creating music was a sad day. This audio bio was touching. So many times I would shout out loud "Scott what were you thinking!" but at the end I realized that he too like many of us had his ups and his downs. He too was learning about himself, the business, his friends and how to deal with everyday life. I think he finally discovered that without Christ he would fail and his walk became stronger and this is what keeps him going daily. I recommend this to anyone who feels their life has no meaning, for those who struggle with everyday life and for those who need to find peace with their inner demons.

This was an inspiring and refreshingly transparent account of deep and sincere spiritual struggles and God's relentless pursuit. And finally the humbled redemption of one who recognizes God's profound grace, deeper than the lowest pit of abuse or human failures. .

This was a really good book! It held my attention all of the way through the book. It is an amazing thing for rock stars to find and hang on to faith with all of the battles that they face every day.

Scott Stall wrote this book from the heart. I have enjoyed the music of Creed for a long time. His words have helped me through some tough times. Thank you for being so honest. His voice is very amazing but the words touched my heart.

This story could be the story of many people ... Scott's story shows where God's love never let's go of His children. This is a story of redemption. I had a hard time putting down the book. Thank you for sharing your story Scott

What a heart rending story of a life almost destroyed by those closest to him but saved by his continually running toward God and all the time God had His hand on him. Lived through some of this with my son who was rescued by God. Praise for Scott's story.

Liking the group Creed I opted to purchase this book. Scott tells his life story in his words. It's a walk with him on his journey through some of the best and worst times of his life. Regardless of one's own status, everyone can relate to Scott's story.

Refreshingly honest. Scott Stapp tells an inspirational and utterly compelling story about his own life. Working in the mental health field, I was drawn to how Mr. Stapp describes his thought processes and his emotional state. He should be applauded for sharing a deeply personal story in a way that may help others who find themselves in similar circumstances. The writing style is concise and makes you want to keep reading to find out what comes next. Kudos to a brilliant songwriter and now author.

He is honest and reveals some of his struggles with his life and his fame. I saw him in concert and he is very talented! Great voice. Hopefully, he has gotten his past under control and given his heart to God for safe keeping. Well written book.

Found the book interesting but wondered if the author had taken an objective look at why his band mates were so against him. Although he admits mistakes he did not seem to take ownership of his own part in the breakup of the band. I did feel sad for his upbringing i.e. being beaten for not much provocation .

Very interesting & moving book about Scott's life story. As I read his story it was easy to see why he was so confused & guilt ridden throughout his life about God & trying to be perfect at all things. He has great talent & from his lyrics he was able to show how he felt. What a great gift from God. So glad he found his way back to Him.

I saw Scott talking about this book, in an online interview. Being a fan of Creed, interested me. I always am interested to hear about people's stories, and what made them who they are. It was the same with this book. He told his story.

I believe Scott lived by the following Bible verse:
Phil 4:13: "I can do everything through him who gives me strength".
And that if he can go through all that he did and still held onto his faith-somewhere deep deep down inside him... he is an inspiration!
I liked the book, although it wasn't what I expected. It was much more personal than I anticipated. I love his songs even more now!!

Story Scott 's childhood very eye opening. Music was his release / salvation/ destruction. Seems to have found even keel now while being realistic @ demons ever patient to rebook you. Blessings to this very talented man.

Good book ,written from the heart from Scott Stapp. Fast read, Recommend even if you are not a creed fan-he admits what it took to reach stardom and the demons he fights along the way and the ones that still won't leave him alone.

Well, this is a well constructed hard cover book that sufficiently survives drops to the bathroom floor when reading. The content of the book is completely ridiculous and full of lies. This book is Scott Stapp justifying (song title pun intended) his fall into addiction and failure to recognize it until after it was too late for the band. It is a sorry read and testament to a rock god not owning his addiction. A sad read when one realizes this book does not represent an individual going through recovery. He lives a life in the public eye and should own his tribulations as well as his success. I'd leave this book alone unless you want to read a litany of excuses and lies of an addict who obviously has (at the time of his writing) a long road ahead in recovery. He should not profit off of any book until he writes one that comes clean about the issues he very poorly addresses during this diatribe. It is a good read concerning his early life leading up to Creed, but after that, it is tongue in cheek at best.

Loved this book, the most interesting book I have ever read so far, honest and bold, many things I have learned in dealing with frustrations and depression! Scott is always there to forgive and reconcile, maybe I need beyond practice to do the same or even close to it, but I'm up to do it. Thank you for this so inspirational book Mr. Scott! I've been a fan since day one!

I never knew what happened to Creed, although lived the music...and lead singer vocals. This memoir was heart wrenching...wish I could hug Scott. wish I could write to him for support. We all have baggage....amazing to learn the path of this talented soul.

Raised in a strict fundamental Christian home, Scott Stapp recounts his years growing up under the heavy hand of his father, his self abusing years on the road with his band Creed and how God has worked in his life throughout his life never letting go of him and drawing him closer to himself. An excellent read. Made me a fan.

Amazing story of redemption. To read about such a hard journey, that so many people struggle through, from the perspective of someone so famous. They are people too. Their struggle is almost harder in some ways, because everything is on display. They can't fight their demons privately. This man is an amazing testimony of God's unending grace and strength.

For anyone who feels that you are alone in questioning what you believe, this book is for you! It shows that no one is immune to doubt and sin. Even someone whose songs speak to so many who struggle spiritually, has questioned God at least once in his life. Once I started reading, I couldn't put this book down. I didn't think I could love the band Creed anymore until I read Sinner's Creed and learned more about the struggles of the band and many of the deep meanings of their AWESOME songs.

I love Scott Stapp! He shows his humanity by writing with honesty and sincerity. I love the music of Creed. This book helps you to better understand where the lyrics came from and the emotions behind them.
I think this book would be especially encouraging to those who are dealing with addiction and with spiritual identity issues.

I choose this rating 'cause I descovered many things about Stapp and his life that I never imagined.

Even I do not finished this book yet, I liked when I read about his tried to suicide, about his faith in God, he turned his life and when was downing, the reason to change his name ('cause his stepfather), and another things.

I would recommend this book to whom are Creed's fan, or likes Stapp, or who has a life with many problems and ever thought to kill yourself.
