Scandalous (Sinners of Saint Book 4)

Scandalous is the third book in Shen’s Sinners of Saint series and can be read as a stand-alone, though I would recommend reading the first few books before this! You don’t want to miss out on the greatness of Vicious and Dean’s books!

Lovers of forbidden romance… this is the book in the series for you! Not only were these two ‘forbidden’ because Trent and Evie’s dad are business partners, but Evie is half of Trent’s age and only just legal. What I loved about this book is that both of the main characters were broken. Both of them had a lot to lose by being together, and both of them were fighting for something bigger than themselves.

Trent was not the typical hothole. He’s more quiet and broody. He’s called the mute for a reason, but Evie brings out a different side of him. Evie is young, but she’s grown up in a way that has made her older than her years. She wasn’t immature or too young for Trent personality wise, so the age-gap didn’t bother me one bit.

This has been an addictive series, and this book was no exception. Trent’s book was different than I expected, but one thing that was consistent was the fact that it was captivating, sexy, and had a lot of feeling. I loved that Trent was a single dad. It was an original story-line. Dean’s book (Rukus) is still my favorite, but this was a great addition to the series!

Scandalous started off pretty slow for me. Then BAM. Trent caught my attention like lightning. This story was GOOD! Very, very good. I loved Edie and Luna. I loved how Trent KNEW she was gathering info against him. Trying to ruin him (for a very good cause). Beautiful writing. Captivating characters. I simply loved and adored this book and its characters. I will have to read the others and hope there is more Edie and Trent. Highly recommend everyone read this book!

The thing is that when you are ruthless like him, you'll stop at nothing in order to get the life that you have dreamed of, destroying people close to you, enemies even your own daughter Edie. He manipulated her but what he got in the end, never saw it coming. Trent is the man that will do anything for his little daughter and that includes eliminating threats even on the inside especially when Luna's absentee mother gets back. Edie has fallen for Trent and one of the reasons is his upbringing that made him a true man, someone to look up to and that made Scandalous a beautiful story!

Alright. Here is the baddest HotHole there is. Vic is still my number one. But Trent. Let me tell you. He is in a league of his own. The roughest and the dirtiest words. But it only makes you want him more. To be his "tide" and he your "seahorse". Loooved it. L.J. did another great one.

To be 100% honest with everyone, I had a secret crush on Trent since I read Vicious, Book 1. He seemed so sexy. When he got caught up with an oops baby, I knew his story was going to be a good one.
Trent’s oops baby, Luna is the most beautiful, heartbreaking part of this entire story to me. As we learned from the previous book, Luna’s mother ran out on her when she was only a one year old baby. Painfully, she hasn’t spoken a word since.
Edie is 18 and adorable! I loved getting to know her and watching her life unfold.
This is the perfect enemies to lovers story that you are sure to enjoy!

What he lacked in words he made up in actions. Manwhore, a-whole to the core but with a heart of gold.
When he meets Edie it's insta-lust...insta love... eh... a stretch. Their chemistry was combustible and tempestuous. Edie's character was ok but kudos to her for bringing him to his knees.
Scorching hot, fast paced and overall entertaining read.

Scandalous is book 4 in the Sinners of Saints series, and just like the others, LJ Shen delivers another amazing book. I was excited to read Trent’s story because he was known as “The Mute” and knew that his story would be intriguing.

The first time Trent laid eyes on Edie was at a barbecue, and their second encounter was when Edie is trying to steal Trent’s mother’s purse. Trent recognizes who she is because her father is a business partner. Shortly after, Edie’s father has her go work at their company. Trent and Edie’s father do not care for each other and he kinda has an idea that she’s there to help her father since she has a tendency to steal some of his stuff.

Although there was a huge age gap between Trent and Edie, it didn’t make the story any less. I loved that it was written in dual POV. I loved Trent throughout the whole book. I knew his story wouldn’t disappoint.

I look forward to reading more from LJ Shen.

When a friend first suggested I read this series, she wanted me to fall in love with Vicious. Later on I listened to heated debates about who the bigger a hole is, Vicious or Ruckus (deffo Vicious, hands down, not even a contest), but it was Trent who flew under the radar. Not quite Vicious and not quite Ruckus. Different, with a different kind of story, but one that I related to the most. From being a single father, to loving someone he wasn't supposed to, to having a big ole chip on his shoulder, and finally, being the quiet one. The mute. But there wasn't a part of this story thag I didn't like. His story is different, his story feels more tangible. At least to me. But I'm just a guy who reads romance novels. what do I know about stuff like that. So pick the book and see what I'm talking about

I’ve been hooked on these #Hotholes from the beginning with Defy and to hear Trent and Edie’s story all I can say is WOW! They call him the mute of the group but when this man speaks he says exactly how he feels. We’re given a bit of mystery as to what Edie’s father has planned throughout the entire story and I like that I’m kept guessing what it could be all while we see the side of Trent I wouldn’t of guessed he had. He’s an incredible father with all the care and protection he gives his daughter. I’m practically brought to tears with some moments shared between Edie and her, they’re truly precious moments. Although she is young, Edie’s character grows and develops into a strong heroine that I love. Great series and I would recommend you grab each one even though they can be read as standalones. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Finished Scandalous at 2am today and this book rocked me to my core. The characters. Their emotions. The humor. The sadness. Their triumphs. The HEA. All of it tugged at my heart.

This was one hell of a ride, and one I'd gladly take again just to experience the euphoria I felt at the end of it. You know a book is amazing, when you wanna read it all over again just to experience the sadness and happiness of those involved all over again.

The sacrifices these two made for love...ugh...heart-retching, make you wanna scream at your book because the potential disastrous decisions the characters made just made me crazy in love with Scandaloussssssss

Hands down....Trent is my favorite. I mean I was happy when the others were mentioned throughout the story but I focused on my Mocha Adonis from start to finish!!!! Gawd this man was raw and unfiltered and just sexy af. Layer by layer stripped and I loved him so much for allowing his control freak ass to experience happiness.

Edie...The girl annoyed me at the beginning and I think that was partly because of her age and she wore freakin Dr. Martens with just about everything (??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️) but that all changed when I saw more interaction with Trent. What girl?! She had me like whaaaa!!! Her emotions stripped all of the "me against the world" attitude and I loved her for it.

Leigh what have you done to me!?!

I want more!

Also anyone who hasn't read any of the books with Audio...I seriously recommend it! Brings everything to life.

What a ride. The quiet and mysterious Trent, The Mute, was all that more. He doesn't care for many people, but the ones he does care for, he will go to the ends of the earth for. Loved catching up with all the HotHoles, my favorite peeps! Edie is so perfect for Trent, no matter what an outsider my say. Age knows no bounds when it comes to the heart. Trent can give Edie everything she has never had in life, stability, love, family, happiness, care, freedom..it's endless. Another fabulous read from L.J. When!

I loved this book so much!! She just keeps getting better and better. These books are now on my go-to list when I need to feel home. Trent and Edie. So many things working against them but they fight so hard to overcome them all and just be. I don’t want to post any spoilers. You just need to read it!
The writng and love story are phenomenal and the fact she writes not one but two people with disabilities into this story makes me love Ms.Shen so much. Growing up with a hearing disability I know all to well the difficulties and challenges you face every damn day.
This story was hot, heartbreaking, and funny(because when aren’t Vicious, Dean and Jamie?) Thank you Leigh for another absolutely incredible read! I’m so excited for what in coming next!

I personally just didn’t enjoy the story. I have read and listened to the other books in the series and I really liked them. This book just wasn’t for me. I had a big issue with the age gap. I think as I read more books with that trope I learned that I just don’t enjoy it much. It’s hard for me to believe that an 18/19 year old is going to commit to a 33 year old. It wasn’t even like the heroine was a super mature teenager. She was dealing with a lot of crap but she still acted and sounded really young. Also, maybe I couldn’t get passed it because her age was mentioned so much. I enjoy this author and I will absolutely buy/read/listen to more of her books. This story just wasn’t my favorite.

Scandalous is the story of Trent the forth member of the HotHoles. I loved his story. Trent thought he was destine to be alone and never find love. He wasn't looking for it, he was committed to being a good dad to his daughter Luna. He satisfied his needs with the occasional no strings attached hook-up. That is until he laid eyes on Edie Van Der Zee his business partners daughter. There were many reasons what he shouldn't give her a second look. But sometimes your heart can't be controlled. Trent's story was full of unexpected twist which is what made me love it. I am pleasantly surprised when a author can keep me intrigued as L.J. Shen as done with this story. Trent and Edie stayed on my mind long after I read the final word.

Scandalous is the final (I think, but don’t quote me on that) book in the Sinners of Saints series and I have to say, it’s dethroned Ruckus as my second favorite of the bunch (nothing can top Defy and Jaime for me, though Trent came really close). I absolutely love Shen’s writing and how she creates these absolute hotholes that you can’t help but love. Shen went places with this story that I wasn’t expecting. I fell in love with both Trent and Edie, and if little Luna doesn’t break your heart open and fill it right back up, you may not have one at all. I adore how each story in this series is so different, each character’s voice is truly unique, but it all feels like it’s part of the same world. No easy feat.

So.... After Jaime, Vicious and Dean there is finally Trent. He is the quit person of the Four Hotholes, but when he talk and walk, oh man. The story surprised me and I loved it. Edie is a Dutch girl, lik I am, and she is a badass, but so much fun. When she is gonna work for Trent he hates her and vice versa. And than Luna, she so cute and the other kids of the Hotholes, they are so cool. You have to read it by yourself because L.J. Shen is an amazing author and I can't wait for her next one.

Once again LJ Shen shows an unparalleled talent in writing a hero that you are equally disgusted and delighted with. I have no idea how she pulls this off, but she does it so well! This book was everything I could want for in completing the FHH. My only request, if LJ Shen reads this, is that she write a happy follow up for all the characters. Make it part of an anthology or something for her fans, don't care just write it. Let us see them in a few years.

I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to expect when diving into this book. I had so many questions, I’ve already made so many assumptions. In the end it wasn’t anything I would have expected.

Out of the entire series this book was the one that had me begging for more & sitting on the edge of my seat.

I’m always a sucker for a single dad, and Leigh adds in the older factor.. boy I was swooning fast.

There’s so many twists and turns in this story. You aren’t exactly sure who’s the good or the bad guy.

Leigh has such an amazing ability to write such complex characters & gut-wrenching stories.

I fell hard for Trent. His broody, dominate, take what I want attitude was so HOT ??

I love Edie & Trent so hard ??

Wow! This was the 4th book in the HotHoles series and it is incredible! I am an emotional mess after reading this. The story revolves around Trent and Edie. And their chemistry is off the charts! Their relationship starts off stormy and evolves into so much more even though everything is against them. I highly recommend you read the books in order to understand Trent's character. Each book is amazing and this one tops the cake!

L. J. Shen knock out another fantastic book!! After reading Trent's story I think he's my favorite out of the others. I think he even passed Vicious in the vicious department a little bit but sure did make up for it though when he fell for Edie and how he loved his daughter even though at times I found myself wanting to smack him for not being little more soft or affectionate with Luna. But I was definitely hooked by his strong but silent hotness and everything in between. Also was blown away how the storyline went definitely didn't see what happened to be how their story would go. ( don't like giving spoilers) loved .

This series just keeps getting better! I love it. Trent and Edie were so different, but so similar as well. Their chemistry is off the charts from the very beginning. She is only 18 and he is 33, she is the daughter of one of his partners. They cannot deny their attraction to one another.

She has a brother in a home and his daughter does not talk. So many events take place and so much against them making it as a couple. Love conquers all.

What a great series. I loved each book in this series. Thanks Ms Shen for writing it.

I loved Edie and Trent. This book tells the perfect story of a damaged guy and a much younger woman. It was nonstop drama and I couldn't put it down!

Trent Rexroth...hot damn. I loved everything about this book. First of all, the author is a freaking amazing writer. Her words tell an amazing story, while being poetic and reaching my soul. I'm enamored by the power of her words. L. J. Shen will forever be a one-click author for me. I've not been disappointed yet.
Both Trent and Edie's characters were far from perfect, and that's what I gravitate towards; imperfect characters fighting their way through life and love.
I loved the entire HotHoles series and I do not want it to end!

The author does a great job developing the characters in this book. Edie is a wonderful heroine, Trent has serious depth, and Luna is amazing (although her behavior seems a little older than four at times). Bane and Vicious also quickly became favorites. I did not expect the twist ending. Great book!

Another great book about the hotholes. At first I thought the age difference would bother me, but these two just belonged together. Edie was so great with Luna and Trent was good with Theo. I couldn't believe how Edie's Dad treated her and her mother, the man was a big jerk. Good book and it is always good to get an update on the other guys and their families. I would recommend this book and all the others in this series.

I absolutely loved Trent and Edie! I have loved each of the Hotholes and Leigh has not disappointed with the plot twists. I held my breath through the story, racing to the end, but also wanting to drag it out because I love the characters. They are flawed, but well crafted. You fall in love with their imperfections. This is a must read series! 5 stars

L.J. Shen has done it again. SCANDALOUS is easily one of my top reads this year. It gave me those same “feels” I experienced while reading VICIOUS. The raw emotion, heartache, secrets, angst—it had everything that draws me into a story. I couldn’t get enough of Trent and Edie!

Shen never disappoints. She on the top of my automatic buy list. She's poignant, eloquent and invokes a multitude of emotions throughout. The book is well thought out, the characters are exceptionally vivid and a plot that is so much more than boy meets girl. Trent and Edie have sizzling chemistry. The banter between them is literally foreplay and the sex is raw and real. Not to be missed!!!!

OMG! This book resonated with me! LJ Shen - You went where many fear to tread. No spoilers but I am from a country where we are struggling to leave behind the burning issues. The very real struggle of this H and h were real. Age, race and social standing...
