A standalone contemporary romance, Steal My Breath starts out with no hints of what this would evolve into. It was an unusual storyline but with plenty of hotness and tender moments.
Callie has had the hots for Luke, bar owner and her best friend’s boss for over a year. But Luke is standoffish and keeps her at arm’s length. There is no denying they have an attraction to each other but little does Callie know just what Luke is dealing with in his life away from the bar.

It is difficult to write a review for this without giving the plot away but suffice to say there was plenty of curveballs in the storyline that threw me and I definitely did not see coming. There were some elements that did push the believability boundaries but overall a good deep suspenseful plot.

The tension and chemistry between Luke and Callie was easy to feel throughout the book and the angst and suspense just added to the depth of the story. Luke was without a doubt a mega alpha as Nina Levine is known for writing about in her books, so I was pleased to see we still had this element in this book even though it is not her usual MC book.

Overall an engaging and flowing story that will keep the reader involved from the first page right up until the end. Enjoyable story with loveable characters. Four stars.

Hooked from beginning to end, quite simply Luke stole my breath !

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows. Laughing out loud moments, cheers, frustration, anger, confusion and tears, you know the ones that sneak up on you and make you put the book down regroup and start again !!

What I love about this book is that it shows you that love really doesn't always come easy, sometimes you have to work at it and getting what you want can be complicated, frustrating and messy, but that it can beyond all reason be rewarded with something so worthwhile !

Luke and his dirty mouth and Callie and her sweet nature are so well suited it hurts. Luke is your typical brooding alpha male and he needs control, but oh no Callie won't give that up easily and I really like that about her. But I also like the fact he asks and she lets him on occasion as who doesn't want a protector on occasion.

I love the twists and turns, the intrigues, the mysteries and the secrets that slowly unravel and get in the way and test the waters and opinions of the characters we meet of each other not only in the book but of ones we are forming as readers and you start to question the integrity and the character behind certain individuals that you are falling for

Callie has known Luke for about a year. He is her best friend’s boss and has always been off limits. They also tend to disagree on almost everything and he is always in a bad mood, still she can’t help but be attracted to him.

Luke owns Elixir, the local bar. He has watched Callie come into his bar almost daily, but knows that she is off limits. He knows that she has been single the past few months, but he still can’t make a move and it is killing him. He is extremely protective and while it drives Callie crazy, it also makes her swoon.

Steal My Breath has a great storyline, but there were times it seemed as if would take a while to move the story along. I found myself getting a little frustrated when the story didn’t move as fast as I would have liked. The second half of the book however moved much faster and the twists and turns kept me guessing. There are things that happened that I would have NEVER guessed! I loved the story of Callie and Luke, from where they started to where they ended up. I would LOVE to say more, but I am afraid if I do, it will spoil the book for future readers. While some of the book moved a little slow for me, if you want a little mystery in with your romance, you will enjoy this book.

Holy mother of gawd, Nina Levine has done it again. Forget Luke Hardy stealing Callie's breath, this entire book stole mine!

Being used to reading MC from this author, I didn't know what to expect when this was announced....but I was excited. I'm now completely convinced that Nina can write just about anything and make it breathtaking.

The storyline was one you see in movies, one that keeps you hooked from the start and one that won't be easily forgotten.

The characters had a bit of everything them; love, stubborn, childish, anger, hurt and humour. All this mixed into a few characters is what makes this book so enjoyable to read. I loved the storyline and where it headed, where it ended and I loved the whole sordid ideal with Luke's baggage.

An absolutely sensational read that will steal YOUR breath.

What a whole different type of story by Nina Levine!! Luke & Callie are fantastic characters and their story was beautiful yet they had obstacles to face. Luke is all alpha and all sexy!! He is a bar owner and he also has a surprise that I won't say, because I don't want to give anything away. I loved how strong Luke was. Life kept giving him curveballs, but he kept breaking through and trudging along. Callie was such a sweetheart!!! She is an author, she is strong & she can dirty talk as well as Luke!! These two characters have made mistakes and have made choices that will break your heart, but that is what a strong love is all about. The best things in life aren't given for free, they are through working hard. I loved Avery & Tyler...they need a book ASAP!! I also loved that Luke & Callie were friends for quite some time before they even hinted about moving forward with their attraction. This book was definitely a book that you needed to experience and not just read and that is what I did. I felt all of the emotions that the characters were feeling and my heart broke right along with theirs and my heart got mended right along with theirs. I am very excited about the upcoming books in this series!!

Wow! Steal My Breath was so much better than what I expected and my expectations were already high. Where do I start
I loved the characters. I loved Callie because not only was she a strong independent woman (Well, maybe not all the time.), but she made me smile and I immediately wanted her as my best friend. There are no words that can adequately describe Luke, a gorgeous alpha male who was also a loving father. Every character in this book, although not all good, had an important part to play in this book and I couldn’t imagine it without each one of them. I have to save that Mrs Harper was my favourite minor character, though.
I went into this book expecting a contemporary romance, but Steal My Breath was so much more. It definitely wasn’t predictable and at one stage, I seriously wondered if it would finish in a HEA.
Then to top it off, this book was set in an area I grew up in. I knew most of the places that were described. I was torn while reading Steal My Breath. I didn’t want it to end because I was enjoying it so much, but I also wanted to know how it would end. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Elixir series.

Another phenomenal read from Nina Levine! I was hooked once I started and read the entire book in one sitting. It’s fantastic and I love how it’s such a branch out from her MC series!

Callie is working her butt off as a waitress to make ends meet while she’s working towards getting her writing published. She’s desperate for sex since she’s on a 3 month drought and is speed dating like crazy. Her best friend works in Luke’s bar she Callie spends tons of time there lusting after the oh-so-sexy and oh-so-moody Luke Hardy. Luke has secrets that are keeping him from being involved with Callie but after watching her for months the sexual tension finally becomes to much and they take things to the next level… until Callie gets a new job that winds up revealing a secret about Luke’s family’s past that could end their relationship before it even has a chance to take off.

I love how fast paced this book was, it’s just one great chapter after the next and I didn’t want it to end. It’s also off the charts hot and has great supporting characters. I look forward to reading Nina Levine’s next novel!

I really enjoyed reading this book Steal My Breath by the author Ms. Levine. It is the sweetest book I ever read from her. Ohhhh Luke! You only not steal my breath away but also my heart. I am swoon. Luke is just the sweetest boyfriend you can ever have. He is not only workaholic, sexy as hell but very strong man despite what he has been through from his first marriage.Callie on the other hand is hopeless romantic. She is blind looking for love where in fact she is looking at the right one for her. I am so glad she finally open her eyes wide opened and noticed what she needed is close by.

Luke and Callie drives me crazy. This two is insatiable. They are opposite but attracts each other. Both carry heavy baggage but are perfect for each other.

Steal My Breath book is very emotional. It is also some twist. There are many funny laugh our loud scenes which I loved reading so much. The book is very hot as well. I really LOVED reading this book and highly recommend it to everybody.

Callie is in the middle of a 3 month no sex draught and has turned to online dating to find Mr. Right. Her friend Avery works at her favorite bar Elixer where she spends a lot of time. Callie seems to have a combative relationship with bar owner Luke. Luke is sexy as sin with a body that can melt panties but he is closed off and extremely moody. Callie is a strong opinionated women who stands by her conviction no matter the consequences. I loved her. She was a refreshing change from emotionally bruised and battered women who need saving. A situation in Luke’s life causes problems for him and Callie who have finally taken their relationship from butting heads to lovers. The author did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed the story. I laughed, I cried, my heart broke and the sex was hot as Hades. Nina brought her “A” game with this story. I look forward to the next book. I was given an ARC for an honest review. I give this story 4 stars.

Luke has demons hanging over his head, secrets that he reveals pretty early in his relationship with Callie so he can let her go if his life is just too much for her to handle. That is why he spent the last year all sexually frustrated - he wants Callie badly but not just for one night. Callie is a writer & finds a story about Luke's past that she just can't let go, deciding to let go of Luke instead in her pursuit of justice. She is dang lucky that Luke is waiting when the smoke clears though. Great story, not enough sexy details for my tastes, but good characters.

Déjà vu….. did that ever happen to you? About half way through this book, I had the feeling that this story was familiar, very familiar. So, I went looking, and looking. I knew I read a story just like this before, but I couldn’t figure out where. It took me until two days after I finished to finally figure it out. It was released in an Anthology earlier in the year. But, it is THAT good that I didn’t mind reading it again, and will read it again with no worries.

Nina Levine has a way with words and Hot Alpha Males that make you want to lick your Kindle. Luke Hardy is NO exception, he is a moody mad with lots of secrets and a stubborn streak!!! He wants what he wants, but will not go after it, but is not happy with anyone else getting it either.

Strong, funny and desperate for love/sex is Callie. Her best friend is a bartender at Luke’s bar, and Callie often finds herself pouring her heart out there while drowning in vodka. To say these to are hysterical is an understatement.

Nina Levine’s books have been keeping me happy since day one and I cannot wait to see what comes next. 5 GLOWING HEARTS for Steal My Breath!

WOW!!! Another 5 STAR read!! Author Nina Levine definitely know how to tell a story! Known for her Storm MC Series, this Aussie author has impressed me with Steal My Breath. Luke, the HOT ALPHA of the story is jaded by love. "Regret and I are old friends. I moved in with him years ago."
Callie, the heroine is in a category all her own. She loves hard and stands up for what she believes in. "...pushing the truth aside in favour of personal gain is not the right thing to me."
Luke and Callie are so in sync with each other that if one of them is holding something back, the other is easily able to pick up on it. When Callie risks their relationship in search for the truth, causing each of them to realize love and truths come in many shades of color. Once the truth is revealed, will this duo be able to put the pieces of their broken hearts back together?

Two minutes in and you know your reading Nina Levine caz its freaking awesome already.

I loved Luke, he was strong and sexy and dominating, I loved the way his character is with Callie and how he wanted her for awhile before something actually happened.

Callie is interesting she has so much to overcome. She is beautiful and courageous.

As a couple they really suit and shine. I loved all their moments together.

The side characters are a welcome addition bringing humor and controversy. I hope that Paris and Tyler get a story I would love to read more from them hopefully ensuing a cameo or two of Callie and Luke.

The twists were well planned and kept you guessing as long as they could.

The sexy scenes = HOT!!

Another very good book by Nina Levine! Steal My Breath was a little different genre than what I usually read by Nina Levine and is a standalone, contemporary romance. Not the usual biker/rocker romance. I really enjoyed Luke Hardy and Callie St James story! Although, I wanted to kick them both in the butt, especially Luke. I wanted to yell at Luke to wake up and smell the roses! Oh and I will never look at coloring one’s hair the same any longer. That was a very Hot scene! A panty melting scene at that!

There was a big twist in Steal My Breath story that I am not sure I would have done what Callie did! If you ask me, it was a selfless act. When Callie thought that someone was innocent she went after it to try and correct the situation. Nope I can’t tell you more about it. You will just need to read Steal My Breath. Oh and one other thing, I love Sean!

This was my first introduction to Nina Levine's writing, and while some things worked for me, others just didn't. Overall, I'd put this at 3.5 stars for me.

Looking back on Steal My Breath, I liked all of the elements of the story: fun dialogue, some suspense, secrets to be uncovered, a palpable connection between the main characters, and good supporting characters. My issue wasn't the material. It was the timing of the material.

I felt that a lot of BIG information was revealed very early in the story, and then I was left in the midst of the "will they or won't they" for far too long. I like a slow burn to my stories, while Steal My Breath started with a flash fire, then left me smoldering a little too long before it burst back in to flames.

I think a lot of readers will very much enjoy Steal My Breath, and the love story between Luke and Callie. I am interested to read more from Nina Levine in the future!

Steal My Breath (Elixir Book 1) by Nina Levine was heart clenching, full of undisclosed issues, distress, surprises and romance. Main characters Luke Hardy and Callie St. James find a passionate chemistry destined to be together and complex. Luke is bossy, alpha, stubborn, and has difficulty letting go of the past. Callie has a quick wit, full of integrity, and stubborn. The complex secondary characters definitely pay pivotal roles in creating a terrific reading experience.

I am rating Steal My Breath (Elixir #1) by Nina Levine 4.6 stars. One way that may have helped me give it a higher rating would be a little less angst, not all was necessary and it ended up weighing down the heart of the story. This of course is just my opinion. I love Nina Levine’s work and can’t wait for the next book!

What a perfect title!!! Everything about this book will steal your breath!!!

Luke Hardy, oh my!!! Things have rarely been easy for this man. And they aren't about to be now either. But he just melts your heart. And you can't help but keep hoping that this man has finally found his happily ever after. If anyone deserves it, it's Luke!

Callie St James... this woman, I can't love her any more. She is so strong, so full of love & light. Life hasn't been all hearts & flowers for her either. But she has a heart of gold & a backbone of steel. And when she decides to do the right thing, NOTHING will stop her.

Be ready to have your breath stolen more than once while reading this book, in ways you can't even imagine. Nina Levine has done a fantastic job giving her fans a book that is just enough outside the box to keep us on out toes!!!

The best thing about reviewing a book for an author you already know and love is being familiar with their work, and when you pick up their new book, you just know you are going to love it too. Because let's be honest, you've already loved their previous work.

Nina Levine asked at the beginning of the book not to let out spoilers - so there really isn't a lot I can tell you for fear of letting something slip or giving anything away. But I can tell you how I felt about this book. When I started the book it was like sitting down with an old friend, I threw up my feet and dived in. I didn't stop reading until I was done. I loved Nina's new characters and the drama that follows them. OH - and the next alpha male Luke. OMG perfect book boyfriend.

When Callie chose justice, I almost put the book down and refused to finish it. She knew how much anger and resentment he harbored for Jolene; heck, it had already almost ended them a few days earlier. But I had to finish their story. I truly believed they would find their way back to each other, but not in the way Nina did. I’m much happier with her path. Luke may not be a heavily tattooed biker, but so far, he has been one of my favorite characters. More Hardy Family stories, PLEASE!

Luke Hardy is a brooding alpha male and Callie St. James lusts after him. And while Luke is attracted to Callie, he’s standoffish because he doesn’t he’s afraid of rejection. Not to mention he has secrets, huge ones at that. What will happen if Callie finds out??

Once again Nina has hooked me! She knows how to write a book and capture the reader’s attention. This has got to be one of my favorite books she’s written and favorite books of 2016!

Steal my Breath by Nina is totally different from any book she has written before but just as fantastic. I wasn't sure where the story was going with Luke and Callie and was totally shocked at the plot twist. I'm not going to tell you what it is because I want you to find out for yourself. Luke is a great guy caught up in a very bad and heart breaking situation. Callie is a fun loving woman that falls hard and fast. When Nina reveals the twist my heart breaks because Callie will have to make a decision of a life time. Do the "right thing" that could cost her Luke or turn a blinds eye and possibly destroy another person to keep the man she loves. One click now its a great read and Nina develops great characters that you just love. And let me add this LOVE Lukes mom. She needs her own book lol

Nina Levine gives us another great book with Steal my Breath. Callie and Luke are such great characters. I love the Aloha brooking Luke has goin on. He is written so well, I can feel the heartache and guilt he is going through in this book. I can also feel these weights coming off of him with the hope he begins to have with Callie. Callie is so sassy. She makes me laugh. She is just the right part headstrong, but pliable enough to Luke’s “serious” voice to make them work.

Although the book was based around Luke and Callie’s growing relationship, the mystery and drama surrounding Jolene was a very entertaining read as well. It added to the overall storyline of Steal my Breath. As with all of Nina’s books to date, I do not believe you will be disappointed with this one!

Nina always delivers great ALPHA men and likeable females and has yet again hit it out of the park with Luke and Callie. Luke was bossy as could be but so vulnerable at the same time and Callie was sassy and sexy but sweet and honest and loving. Together they had great banter and so much chemistry that I had no problems buying into them and believing them.

Steal My Breath was such a good read and I really enjoyed the story; I couldn't put it down and finished this in one sitting. It was of course full of romance and some hot scenes but it was also dramatic and suspenseful.

I absolutely loved this book and would heartily recommend it.
I can't wait for more from this series.

This was a beautifully written love story. It's complicated and has a depth that will keep you engrossed in the story from the beginning to end. I had to finish this one in one sitting it was so good. Callie is a strong woman who believes in the truth and doing what's right. I was surprised by her choices but loved her more because of them. Luke is stubborn and has hardened his heart but somehow he can't seem to resist Callie. He has his secrets but wants to move on with his life. I loved how he genuinely just wanted to move on with his life and find a happiness that was simple and uncomplicated. The journey these two go on will be one that you won't forget. This has become my favorite from Nina and I can't wait to see what she has for us next.

I've been thinking about this review for awhile. I don't like to leave bad reviews because I feel like it might just be a mood I'm in or because I'm in the middle of a book slump but this book just didn't work for me. There was too much going on with crimes, secret families, none of it felt like it belonged. And no one loves their alphas and the whole insta-love thing more than me but in this case everything felt weird. Again, maybe just me.

I love Nina Levine's previous work and going into this one, I wasn't really sure what to expect but I can tell you what I got was not it. It was ten times better than what I was expecting. I don't mean that in an offensive way either. I'm used to and love the author's MC books so I didn't know what to expect with this one but she absolutely nailed it!

The story, the characters, the steamy scenes... it was all so hot and lusty. It was sassy and alpha-ish, swoon worthy and just made you feel giddy as you read it plus the shock factor of a few surprises also gave some nice twists to the story. Luke and Callie are a perfect match and their story flowed effortlessly and was "just right".

Well done Nina, well done!

5+ stars all the way!!! A refreshing and touching read that fully captivates your attention from the start not only stealing your breath but your heart. As you read Luke and Callie’s story you find they have the perfect chemistry whether they are hanging out, arguing or steaming up the sheets. I love how Luke is bossy, stubborn and at times a moody sob. How Callie is loyal, can be sweet as honey, loving and just as stubborn. The past and secrets can overshadow a relationship making it hard despite the all consuming love you have for someone. Life and love isn’t always perfect or goes as planned sometimes along the way it’s just complicated. Definitely a panty melting must read book. Loved it!! Received an ARC copy for a honest review.

This story is much different than the MC romances I have read by Nina Levine. But I loved it just the same! I had to finish it so I could see how it all worked out.

Callie was truly, deep down a good honest person, she has a golden heart. I do not know that I would have been as altruistic as she was.

When you read the description of what Luke looks like.....as soon as "Tom Hardy lips" was mentioned, I fell in lust. When Luke told Callie, "Maybe I just want the opportunity to take care of you from here on out", I fell in love.

As usual Nina Levine hooks you with her characters and stories.. I love her men and this one was no different.
Luke is a total alpha, closed off and bossy , but he couldn't resist Callie.
Callie is sweet and funny, with a big heart, looking for love and pursuing her career and what she loves.
The two of them together are perfect, perfect for each other and I fell in love with them both.
Being a fan of this author I knew their love story wasn’t going to be easy, and twists and turns ensured that, but it's one of the reasons why I love her stories..never predictable. I feel the characters and the stories and can never put them down.

Another one. She got with another one. Callie is so light-hearted and sweet but just can't seem to find the right guy. She was just looking in the wrong place. Luke wasn't really looking but he knew that if he were he would look to Callie. I spent my time reading this book fighting with myself, thinking I hate them both for the silliness they are putting each other through and I love them both for doing what they know is right in their hearts. I got my prerequisite happily ever after which is how it should be. I was drawn in from the start and didn't want to let it go. Some twists and turns will have you looking up and wondering about what you just read. Nina, I love you hard!

Lord have mercy this book was so good and addicting. Wow just wow Nina has done it again I really loved reading Steal My Breath this book was fantastic and wonderful. I loved the story line and the characters this book is filled with passion and love. Luke is businessman who is trying to run a business but he is having difficulty time doing it and raising a son as well. Callie St. James has complications with on line dating until she meet Luke and then things start to heat up for them both. She has been lusting after him for years and now finally gets to hook up with him. This was a great book highly recommend it!

Callie was spunky and honest. Luke was bossy and stubborn. I read another review calling him a "moody fuc$er" and I just laughed because - yes, he is. He held a lot of secrets, A LOT.

This couple takes a lot of hits with life going up and down. No spoilers! It was a total roller coaster. But together, in those spicy moments, they were explosive, nuclear. The honest moments were the best ones.

The story was dynamic and kept my interest. It kept surprising me with little twists and the romance was full of feels.

I loved this book, it ticked all my boxes, it was hot, sweet, suspenseful and wonderfully written.

Holy cow!!!!! I could not stop once I started. It is true not everything is as it seems! WOW just WOW! I went from meltdown over Luke's bossiness to laughing at Callie and A's banter. I felt my stomach clench at some parts of the book....I got happy, sad and mad all in the space of a few hours reading this! Nina has done it again. This is a must read. Luke and Callie's relationship is not predictable or boring at all. There are so many twists and turns in this one. I loved how it kept me guessing. I'm always trying to figure out who did what and how it's going to end - didn't have a clue on this one....well I did narrow it down to 2 of whodunit! :)

I have quickly fallen in love with everything Nina has written and Steal My Breath was just as beautiful as all that has come before. Having read the Storm series, my first impression was that while our main man, Luke, is a tough looking bar owning kinda guy, we never see any glimpse of that harder side I've come to expect from Nina's main men. Luke is a good man, educated, responsible and down to earth. Callie is kindhearted, intelligent and has a good head on her shoulders and knows what she wants. Nina has once again created characters you can't help but fall in love with throughout this beautiful story... HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended book & author!! <3

I just adore Nina Levine's contemporary romance reads as they never fail to deliver on a great characters and an angsty read.

The book reads at a great pace and you cannot help but fall in love with these characters, especially Callie's character as she has many fantastic qualities such as,feistiness, loyal and a great sense of morality that shone brightly throughout the book.

Luke was a great character I could have batted him around the head many times for his stupid stubborn streak but thats what makes a great read.

This book is a great combo of stubborn and sexy and I really enjoyed all aspects of this book.

Steal My Breath was beautiful. Just beautiful. But Callie and Luke broke my heart. They were both so damn stubborn that I wanted to smack them! Callie had a big heart though, and always let her heart dictate her actions, even if that heart got broken because she was too stubborn to let things go. Luke too had a big heart, but his heart was so cloaked in anger and resentment that it kept him from pursuing Callie for far too long. It also meant he lost Callie because he too refused to let things go. Argh, STUBBORN! Thank God they both came around in the end.

Now, I can't wait to read Tyler and Avery's story!
