Jaxson and Rachel met when they were just 8 years old. They were best friends until her family moved away when they were 10. In this second chance romance they reunite 22 years later and recognize each other immediately when they see each other at a farmers market, but Rachel is with her kinda douchy boyfriend whom she lives with in New York. She was in Atlanta for the weekend visiting family.
Over the next couple months they try to go back to the lives they have been living without each other but neither is very happy and they end up back in the same place again but one big secret and an unforeseen event could derail the love they have for each other. I love all the Cocky books and this one is no different. Highly recommended.

Cocky Cowboy is a second chance story. Jaxson and Rachel grew up together as best friends, but at the age of 10 she moved away. Years later they run back into each accidentally and there are sparks. Things don’t go smoothly for them though, they have a few struggles. You don’t want to miss out on this book, there is a good bit of drama and a huge surprise. Go read it.

Can you find your soulmate when you're only eight? Maybe. But can you recognize your soulmate after decades apart? When Jaxson sees his childhood love Rachel across the farmer's market he knew her and she knew him. Finding ones happily ever after isn't always easy. Can the love that sparked in childhood be rekindled and burn stronger than ever in adulthood?

The actual way this was written was awful. Editing was mishandled. It seemed so disjointed and very immature. I wanted to read this based on the 4 and 5 star ratings, but I just couldn't get into it. I abandoned this book at the 50% mark because the writing and entire premise turned me off.
I'm glad I read it on KU, otherwise I would have been angry to have paid for it . I really dislike giving bad reviews, but sometimes, that's all there is☹️️

Jaxon and Rachel were friends in grade school. They shared one kiss, as most young kids do, then their families went separate ways. Fast forward 20 years and they come face to face and Jaxson is feeling all the feels again. Rachael wasn't sure what it was about the boy next door, but when she saw him again she was hit with an overwhelming feeing of....LUST. Their incredible chemistry came at a bad time because Rachel also had a boyfriend. The situation that ensues is heartbreaking, confusing, and a journey of love. Their love story is my favorite of the cocker brothers. It lets you know that just because you are young doesn't mean you cant find the love of you life.

Cheating's typically a no-no in romances because...well, no good love story starts with infidelity. But here we've got a whole book full of cheating going on, on several different levels, damaging the integrity of all the characters involved. Quite sticky, since they remain relevant characters through the whole rest of the series.
But for me, the real kicker was the absolutely shameful way the author handled an issue that definitely needed more tact.

Spoilers:
As a woman who has suffered a miscarriage of a desperately wanted child, I found the insinuation that a little wine and chocolate would make it all better to be incredibly demeaning. Even worse was Jaxson's handling of the matter. This guy is supposed to be the hero--and yet all he has to offer is mocking remarks that if it had been HIS baby, she wouldn't have miscarried. Because, you know, the Cocker boys are strong. This is shameful behavior from the guy we're supposed to be swooning over, and that Rachel goes from bawling her eyes out over losing her child to giggling her head off at how funny it is can really only be called offensive. It's pretty clear Miss Hopkins has never suffered this kind of tragedy, or she wouldn't see it as a laughing matter.

I thought this was The Cocky Cowboy by another author. That book was recommended to me by a friend. I read this one anyways and was so disappointed. Not well written at all. Cheesy dialogue and the main character was a complete jerk.

What a disgusting person this author is to think that she can trademark the word "cocky" and try to steal the livelihood of other authors by suing them for using this word. She has even gone so far as to sue authors who published years before her and used the title in their work. Grow up little girl and learn to be an adult. I'd never heard of your books before Cockygate and I read romance novels all the time. The authors you go after have long-established careers and you are trying to profit off of their hard work. Go back to the hole you crawled out from.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "COCKY COWBOY" Jaxson Cocker and Rachel Sawyer have been friends since they were 8 yrs. old things happened to pull them apart aroundl the time they were 10 yrs.old. When Jaxson and Rachel see one another after many years all the memories come flooding back Jaxson always felt like Rachel was his soul mate at such a young age there attraction and chemistry is smoking hot. This second chance at love is tender sweet, heartwrenching, loving, passionate, this was a great storyline with terrific characters, each story just gets better and better the journey in each book is very different just have to love the Cocker Brother's and their woman. This is one of the best series a must read for sure you will be totally addicted I've read the entire series and loved every book, Cocky Cowboy is one that I had missed and glad I got to read it thoroughly enjoyed.

COCKY COWBOY- FAMILY DRAMA & PASSIONATE ROMANCE

When Jaxson and Rachel meet again after years new feelings blossom into wild passion, but their future holds obstacles that threaten to tear them apart. Emotions run high in this titillating second chance romance that is sure to keep you hooked until the heart-melting conclusion.

Jaxson has his own ranch, doesn’t talk much, can have any woman he wants and as far as relationships go he can live without them. When Rachel his childhood best friend shows up in Atlanta after years of no contact he is elated to see her again, but she has a boyfriend. Rachel is shocked to see the boy from years past that she spent hours with just talking about books, climbing trees; the boy who gave her a flower at nine years old. Rachel lives in New York City now and is just visiting her mom and dad. When fate gives you a second chance do you stay or go?

Loved this fast paced and wonderfully written story. The fusion of reality and fantasy make this a most exhilarating read. The characters are credible and come alive with witty dialogue, action, gripping suspense, heart-rending moments, breathtaking scene descriptions, and family love. Though Jaxson has his arrogant side his romantic side is sincere. Jaxson and Rachel are definitely a fun couple and certainly meant to be together; their romance is filled with fiery sensual passion. Tears filled my eyes when the author showed how Rachel let go of the past and hurt she experienced; a beautiful and heartfelt scene description. This story was an extremely entertaining and gratifying read. If you treasure fantasy romance this is certainly a terrific book for your library. {I was gifted this book and this is my honest review}. In the world of fantasy romance, the possibilities are endless, but always fascinating. Without reservations, I recommend this book.

You know, this might be the first Cowboy Romance I think I’ve ever read. And I loved it. It’s no surprise, really, and not because I’m a Texan and I know firsthand how chivalrous, tough, and hardworking real life cowboys are. No, it’s because Faleena Hopkins knows how to write a darn good romance.

Cocky Cowboy was sweet, it was sexy, and in some places it seriously threw me for a loop. I’m talking holy moley, that did not just happen, please say it isn’t so kind of loop. That was a twist I did not see coming, and it’s one of those things that keeps you reading on the edge of your proverbial or literal seat to find out how it turns out.

On top of that, Jaxson Cocker is one hot cowboy. He’s kind of that strong, silent type who would rather spend time with his cows than carousing at the bar, and the kind of guy who, when he does carouse at the bar, still treats women with respect. And the kind of guy who will lay a dude out for being a douche to the girl he’s been in love with since he was 8 when he sees her for the first time after like 20 years!

Rachel was also a fun character to read. She was a girl who knew what she wanted, and was willing to put that aside when she thought it was the right thing to do, but sometimes no matter what you do, there’s always going to be that one guy you just can’t get out from under your skin.

I loved how things from the past were revealed in this book, and how even though this book is about Jaxson, we get to see some of the other family and their crazy antics.

If you’re not reading this series yet, what on earth are you waiting for? You don’t want to miss them.

Nothing will keep them apart - at least not for long! Life is at times a tranquil trot and at others a wild gallop. Hold onto your hat and get ready for a wild ride.
Rachel has her doubts but like so many she ignores them, thinking that this is the way it is for everyone so this must be the way it is.
But life has other plans for her.
Sometimes it takes a hard hit to wake us up and that is just what Rachel gets.
It is so easy to be righteous and judge others until you are put in a position you never thought you would be in - then can you forgive yourself and in doing so forgive those that hurt you? Or are some actions just too destructive to forgive?
Just when I thought I knew where things were going I was throw for a loop that knocked me on my ? I did not see that coming!
This is a wonderful story about Rachel and Jaxson and that sometimes we know where we belong and with who before we can put it into words.
Nothing will keep them apart - at least not for long!
I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC and am so thankful to have the opportunity to review it for a very talented author.

This one is really sweet but really slow; not entirely drawn-out, just languid and not as engaging as others I've read.

Jaxon and Rachel are best friends as children before Rachel moves to NYC. They reunite 20 years later by happenstance and realize it's certainly possible to find your soul mate when you're 8 years old.

Their relationship is sweet and sincere but there's a real lack of communication in regard to what the characters want and where they stand with each other. There is some drama from outside influences and I really appreciate how they're there for one another considering the circumstances, but even after the dust settles, they're still distancing themselves. Communication people....although then we'd be left without a buildup in the story and I suppose the HEA wouldn't be as satisfying if they didn't struggle for it.

The novelty and memories of their time spent together as kids is super cute and endearing. I had a lot of fun reading about their 10 year old selves. As adults though, some of their childhood vernacular and behavior bleed into their relationship and conversations way too much for me. On the level of: "tag, you're it" and "I know you are, but what am I?" kind of stuff. I get that it's a light hearted nod to nostalgia but it happens way too often...and during sex?...I mean, come on.

There's a few things that were left unfinished for me. Rachel's initial boyfriend was involved in some of the drama that occurred but he kind of just disappeared in the midst of things.
She went through a pretty traumatic ordeal which should have required medical attention, but that was kind of glazed over and the aftermath was dealt with pretty quickly. They acted pretty passé about it considering the magnitude of the situation.
More drama with the Cocker/Sawyer families was kept quiet as well- seemingly sweeping things under the rug in a quiet understanding not to mention things. This was totally understandable- however, a lot of the family interactions in previous books have been pretty adamant about being upfront with any issues.

All in all, it's a cute book. A bit mediocre for me- I've been interested to read about Jackson for a bit and feel satisfied but not super excited about the result of his story. I think I liked the concept more than the execution.

And...can someone get Jason his OWN pitcher of ginger ale already? ;)

This was an emotional, make you sweat, hot and steamy, drama filled second chance romance read that was definitely worth it in the end! Whew!! I found my self talking to my Kindle as I was reading this. She needs to dump him!, "Girl you better go and see where this can lead!", "Are you kidding me?!?!" Yes, I was on a roller coaster ride reading this. Now, be warned - there is some cheating going on. Although you can say there were on a break (Friends reference, and her name is Rachel :-0)

Jaxson and Rachel were childhood friends, really the best of friends until Rachel moves away. There were reasons why her family moved that were revealed in the story - again DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA! Anyhoo, Rachel has a boyfriend that's a douche and I really wondered why she was still with him. Jaxson and Rachel run into each other again for the first time since childhood and the sparks fly. Rachel and her boyfriend 'break-up; and she and Jaxson end up getting together but Rachel and her boyfriend end up together again. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!!

There was so much going on in this story, but it really was a good read and it was full of ups and downs. Excellent!

I downloaded this through Kindle Unlimited.

Wow, Wow, Wow! I absolutely love Jaxson and Rachel...theirs was a love story so sweet and I loved how we got to go back to their childhood memories to when they fell in love at 9! Lol. Too cute!

Now I'm not one for cheating...and I know some will not like this book because they will feel that's what happened but I don't. They weren't married and he wanted a break...haha Friends reference there!

I can't honestly say one negative thing about this book...the story flowed nicely...each person had their own strengths and weaknesses...there was a good plot (even though it broke my heart to learn that)...and the sex was steamy! There were only a couple of "family" moments so I didn't have a hard time keeping up with everyone. On to the next book!

Rachel Sawyer is one lucky girl! She gets to have it all not just once in her life but twice!
Rachel first received it all from her childhood friend Jaxson Cocker. At age nine Jaxson was making her smile with sunflowers, quotes from Shakespeare, and I love you... until she moved to New York with her parents!
Twenty years later, after Rachel's parents have move back to Atlanta she come homes to visit with her New York boyfriend. They run into Jaxson at the local farmers market. She sees that he all grown up. Whhile she can't stop staring at the good looking cowboy the jealous New York boyfriend can't stand the "loser".
Hold on to your hats because this story is a ride of emotions at high speed. I won't spoil the book- just that there are unexpected situations that will throw you for a loop- and will have wanting to know what happens next!
The passion is sizzling hot! The love is real! The feeling are true! I was rooting for Jaxson and Rachel to the end!

I have read Ms. Hopkins Paranormal series but this is the first contemporary romance I have read from her. Let me say for me this was one of the best and truest love stories I have read in many years. This is an absolutely amazing book which will have you captivated from the very first page. Honestly you won't be disappointed. Jaxson and Rachel knew each other as children then she moves away to New York when her father gets a new job and years later her parents are living back in Atlanta and during a visit with then (with her boyfriend snob/jerk). She and Jaxson see each other again and there is an instant connection. Now jerk face leaves and >>> well I don’t want to say much more you really need to read this wonderful book for yourself. I know that I am going to pick up books one and two in this set and eagerly await the next 3 books to come

After reading Cocky Roomie, I went into this story thinking it would be just as amusing with some angst. I never expected it to be quite so Intense and passionate, with an emotional punch.

“I’ve never needed anyone, but I need you.”

Rachel and Jaxson were close childhood friends but they were separated when they were ten and haven’t seen one another for twenty years. An expected meeting results in Jaxson punching Rachel’s boyfriend, a break up with said boyfriend, and Rachel and Jaxson giving into their crackling adult chemistry, which is made richer by their childhood memories of getting into scrapes together.

The whole story was fast moving, the connection and sexual attraction was tangible, and the unexpected storyline was shocking. It was a fab read!

4.5 stars Excellent contemporary cowboy meets city. Jaxson loves his ranch and works hard at making it and his hometown a better place. Rachel and Jaxson were best friends that cared more for each other when they were young. Unfortunately, they were torn apart. Neither were sure if the friendship would reignite but they both wanted more even though Rachael still was drawn to Jaxson but time, distance and her boyfriend made it difficult. Once again Ms.Hopkins did an excellent job developing the characters and bringing out who they really are and if they have what it takes. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

I have fallen in love with the Coker family!! Ms. Hopkins has done it again with this story! I may have enjoyed this one the most! Loved the school years connection and all the stories of the trouble they found themselves in during elementary school. Twenty plus years have gone by but their devotion to each other didn't move on. I appreciated how Jaxson stood by and supported Rachel even when he was struggling. Great story about another amazing Cocker brother and his fall into love. I couldn't put it down...finished in about 3 hours! Now I'm feeling that strange emptiness after a wonderful book! Can't wait for the next one!

I love this book. There is such a sweet undertone to it and the characters and the issues that they face seem real. The storyline seems real.

Jaxson has a distinct personality and is rooted in who he is as a person and a man. I love how he still deals with his own insecurities internally and is still strong and independent.

The storyline of Rachael's miscarriage kind of breaks my lil heart but in the end, she overcomes it.

I ALSO LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOVE that they knew each other. That this was a book in which their love blossomed from childhood.

The author did a good job on this. Really good

Red rover, red rover, send Jaxson right over. This story is a little different take on second-chance love and is so very sweet. Not to say that the sexy times are not there, they are, in spades. Jaxson and Rachel have to deal with emotional issues that only make them a stronger couple. I love both of the characters and you can feel the love blossoming in their relationship from the beginning. Faleena, you have thrown me for a loop again and I love it.

Family means everything to the Cockers and seeing the brothers pull together to help one another overcome adversity is a beautiful thing.

An absolutely fabulous read! Not to give too much away but the main characters meet up again at age 32 when they haven't seen each other since they were 10. They were best friends and sparks fly instantly. There are complications, some predictable, some surprising but it is all revealed in a believable, funny, heartbreaking and triumphant way. I just couldn't put it down. Well, I fell asleep 30 pages in (I was tired, a very long day) but I finished it the next night and now I want to read it again. Faleena has another winner on her hands. Just a couple of typos seen that don't take away from the enjoyment of the story. ENJOY!

Sometimes romance books (or any book in a series) can become very formulaic and tedious. I am happy to report that this book had me guessing from chapter to chapter. I like that Jaxson doesn't do and say everything the way a classic romance character is expected. I adore that Rachel also doesn't behave as your typical female character in a book is "supposed" to behave. They both have a developed personality and neither compromise too much for the other while still complimenting each other. I know men that have the same outrageous bravado so I know that is does exist outside the pages of a romance book. I am thrilled to be a part of the ARC program for Faleen and I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

First off this book will be hard for some readers, I know it was for me.....it ripped my heart out with the characters and boy did I need tissues.
BUT I also loved every interaction with them, the typical Cocker attitude, with glimpses of Jaxson's peace, the shattering of beliefs and the rocking passion and what can happen when secrets are kept.
Passion abounds and fists fly (boy did that make me laugh) tears poured and then laughter soared. Frustration and feeling the emotions of these characters was awesome.....but boy did I need a little bit to decompress from the roller coaster ride that is this great book.

SPOLIERS!!??

I'm so sick of female characters getting pregnant and then refusing to tell the father because they broke up. "If he didn't want me, then he really won't want this baby". Dumping someone (or in this case not calling 'cos you told him you were in love with you boyfriend !!!) is not any indication that they are willing to abandon their child.

There is also the completely overused plot complications of potential brother-sister situation that is just over the top and combined with another twist that is also compleatly unbelievable ( seriously, go to the ER or at least see a doctor, please? ) it makes the ending really underdeveloped and hasty.

The confusing part is that despite all that- I still kinda liked it :)

I'm really enjoying this series! Although the book can be read as a standalone I keeping wanting to read to find out which Crocker Brother will find their happy ending next! Jaxon and Rachael used to be childhood friends that were inseparable until Rachel family moved away. Rachel and her boyfriend are in town visiting her parents when they decide to go to a farmers market and that's where the story jumps off! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two characters as well as the closeness of the Crocker Family. Looking forward to reading more stories about the brothers.

Kindle unlimited standalone in series. He's a loner. After a girl from his past returns to town all grown up, things get complicated for this laid back cowboy. When she spots her 10 year old best friend after 20 years, she has to watch him be taken to jail for punching her boyfriend. Unplanned pregnancy with unknowns father is the easiest twist this book has to offer. A story that will leave your mouth hanging open and wondering what the future holds for all the cocky brothers.....

Frankly, this story makes me mad with all the inaccuracies of reality beyond the missing words, misspelled words, repetitive dialog. Basic friends to lovers story with what i’m Sure was supposed to be a surprise twist that they might be siblings. Smh. The lab testing by the doctor is preposterous. Unless a doctor has a practice specializing in dna, why in the world would he have the proper equipment at this office? Please do a little science research on how it’s done. Also, the horse riding scene? A novice PREGNANT rider in tennis shoes, having never ridden a horse, goes through all the paces including a gallop — for over an hour?!? Nope, nope, and nope. So wrong and, frankly, dangerous. Now if she wanted to set up a scene where the baby is miscarried.....that’s a good way to do it. One bad fall and crisis adverted. Jaxson is a great guy. Rachel too. But, like I said, the bad editing pulled me out of what could have been a great the story repeatedly and the fiction of what shouldn’t be fiction at all makes me take away stars.

I love the Cocker men! Jaxson has always been the quiet, more reserved brother. He lives on his farm and minds his own business. He loved Rachel at nine years old, but she moved away. When he sees here 20 years later, he instantly feels it again. It will take a little time to convince the two of them of it, but they eventually, after some heartbreak, and a huge family secret, find the love they've always had for one another! This book really threw me a curve ball!
I received this as an ARC copy for an honest review. I loved it!

JAXSON, THE ELDEST COCKER BROTHER CANNOT BELIEVE HE SEES HIS FIRST LOVE-RACHEL. THEY ARE DRAWN TO EACH OTHER DESPITE RACHEL ALREADY BEING INVOLVED WITH RYAN, WHO IS NOT MAKING A FIRST IMPRESSION ON RACHELS PARENTS. JAXSON HITS RYAN FOR BEING A DOUCHE, RYAN DECIDES A BREAK IS NEEDED, JAXSON GOES AFTER RACHEL, JAX AND RACHEL CONNECT, RACHEL FINDS SHE IS PREGNANT. DRAMA THROUGH OUT BUT JAX AND RACHEL WILL NEED TO DECIDE IF HEIR CONNECTION WILL HELP THEM. RECOMMEND TO THOSE WHO LOVE THEIR DRAMA.

I love this series - full of strong men with deep family roots, when they love it is deep.
This time they were soul mates from an early age. There are some twists that keep you on edge, wondering how this can happen and what will be next.

I had read the first two and was excited to read about Jaxson and look forward to the remaining brothers.
The books can be read as a stand alone. I did receive an ARC for my honest review. I truly enjoy these characters and stepping into their world. Looking forward to starting the next.
