Not as good as Twisted but all the characters were still there. I liked the rough world of the powerful illegal arms dealers. That added the violence and tension to the story. I liked Lucas as an alpha male. Yulia was cool but she wore me out with the constant whining about Misha. Misha this and Misha that. That got very, very old. Other than that, the story and action was good.

I enjoyed the intense relationship between the main characters, also the mystery, action scenes and extra characters. I gave it a four because I think it lost a bit of the main storyline on the third book, but besides that it was an excellent book and very well written!

Read the twist me series first. This author writes beautifully. Everything is so vivid in your mind. After a slightly slow start, I couldn't put this series down. It's so intense and passionate! Love these characters. Yes, it's a dark story, but I Highly recommend it!
Hard Pressed :: Book 5 of the Expanse (now a major TV series on Netflix) :: A Year in Space, A Lifetime of Discovery :: Spoonbenders: A novel :: Outrageous (Quantum Series Book 7)

The plotting of the trilogy was excellent! I feel we could have learned a lot more about the countries, fleshed Winter's a bit more, instead of how lustful ,demanding and brutal Kent was towards Yulia. I enjoyed and was excited by the sexual activity, but after the constant descriptive acts of sex that was becoming love making, it got stale. I like the characters!

Fans of Twist Me, the story continues...not quite as dark, but just as hot. Strong sexy characters, darkly erotic tones...so glad I found the trilogy- another binge read. Stands alone, but does best as a follow up to the Twist Me series

Dark Erotica is a very difficult story-line to pull off. This series (a continuation of the Twist Me trilogy) is very well done. The two main characters are four dimensional. There are the typical character traits, but Zaires does a very good job of developing the character’s depth throughout the books.
Unlike so many authors in this genre, Anna Zaires gives the reader the entirety of the experience with thorough characterization, all the environmental references to put you there, and she does it at a pace that will keep you interested throughout the story.

I enjoyed the story line, but the first two books of the series are a complete regurgitation of the Twist Me series, albeit from a different viewpoint. I have enjoyed a number of their books and will read more.

SPOILER ALERT*****
This read like a never ending story. It was a tortuous read. Yulia (an interpreter / spy) provided information that she manipulated from Lucas (Julian's second in command) during their after glow that lead to a plane crash that was narrowly escaped by Lucas and Julian as well as three of their men who were severely burned and 45 more of Julian's men died. While recovering, Julian is captured and tortured; in fact, one of his eyes is cut out by his tormenter. Yet Lucas (Mr. Former naval soldier, academic genius, second in command / head of security) continuously tells Yulia everything. Dude she laid there while you sucked, tasted, squeezed, and pumped her for a few hours; she’s young and attractive but you are obsessed with her. Yeah right (unbelievable). She used and betrayed you and you can’t get enough of her. Just the sight of her and your little head takes away your ability to think of anything but getting wet again. You tell Julian you got her on his compound and not one time does he go to question her himself (not believable). The man lost his eye and his wife could have been killed because Lucas’ mouth gave Yulia the information that led to the plane crash and multiple deaths. Why are you telling her that Julian lost an eye? Where is his loyalty? Meanwhile Yulia lips remain sealed. She knows about Lima Syndrome but this highly trained man who reads doesn't know. So I found Lucas' characteristics uncharacteristic; hence, the foundation of the storyline was unbelievable. Head of security allows his little head do all the thinking. Unbelievable (SMH) Lucas' internal dialogue reeked of pathology and a desperate pathetic obsession. Yulia is years younger than Lucas yet she made more sense than him. However she falls for a man who tells her "If you weren't such a hot lay...". There is a lot of sex in this book. For the most part there is nothing hot about the sex scenes which are routinely her laying there while he uses her body. I'm all for chemistry and mind blowing sex but the stakes were too high for Lucas to even entertain a thought of sleeping with Yulia. This book was an epic fail for me.

Offensive, unnecessary and graphic pornographic content which did not contribute to an otherwise good storyline and character development. If I had seen an honest review such as mine, I would not have purchased the trilogy.

Capture Me (book 1):
Did not disappoint! Capture Me was as riveting and suspenseful as I expected. Another Alpha male is introduced a d this is Lucas & Yulia's beginning. The book ties some of the Twist Me series into it. I read that series first so I knew who the characters referenced were abs their background.
I can't wait for the next part of Lucas & Yulia's story.
Bind Me (book 2):
WOW! This book was full of twists and turns! I absolutely loved it and couldn't stop reading! Lucas and Yulia's story continues in this heart stopping, panty wetting thriller! You'll want to make sure you pick this book up...you'll be captivated once you do!
Claim Me (book 3):
Another AMAZING book by the talented Anna Zaires! This book left me on the edge of my seat so many times. Action packed but hot as hell. I couldn't put it down. Jaw dropping and unexpected. This conclusion was absolutely phenomenal. This entire series has been sexy and interesting. I can't wait to see what's next from this talented Author!

Book 1 Review:
4 "Traitor or Victim?" Stars for the story and narration.
If you enjoyed the Twist Me Trilogy by Anna Zaires and Dima Zales then you will want to continue the dangerous, adventure filled world in Capture Me. Although Capture Me is a spin-off of the Twist Me Trilogy, the Capture Me trilogy could still be read or listened to as a standalone as it primarily features a different couple. For those of you who did experience the first trilogy, however, you will be happy to know that you still continue to see glimpses of how Julian and Nora are adapting to their new life together.
Carrying on from the plot commenced in the Twist Me Series, Capture Me features one of Julian's primary guards, Lucas, and the Russian interpreter, Yulia, who appears to have betrayed Julian's team. Giving us a flashback to the night when they first meet, and then quickly segueing into the aftermath of the plane crash which happens as a direct result of what Lucas and Julian believe is intelligence that Yulia shared about their whereabouts, Yulia's days appear limited until Julian through Lucas are healthy enough to come and seek their retribution from her.
However, when the day comes that he has her in his possession again, Lucas is conflicted by the passion that he still feels for Yulia after their unforgettable one night together. Being a professional, he knows what he must do, but as he tears more information from Yulia through his interrogation of her, the lines between right and wrong begin to blur.
Will Lucas stay loyal to Julian? Is Yulia's apparent passion for Lucas real or merely a keen survival mechanism of a well trained operative?
Shirl Rae and Roberto Scarlato return as narrators and do a great job with most aspects of this narration. Each can be counted on to deliver easy to listen narration passages, making it seamless for the listener to know who is speaking. Additionally the listener can feel the emotion and the mood of the scene by the narrators' tone. Perhaps my only observation on the narration is that as Yulia is Russian, I would have expected her to have a Russian accent, but the narration does not reflect this. Nonetheless, every other aspect of the narration was flawless, making this a story that can easily be enjoyed in audio format.
I enjoyed Capture Me as it still had that great hot, physical tension that I enjoyed so much in Twist Me. The passion between the two main characters is raw and primal. However, I do feel that it is important to note that this romance is definitely more mainstream and less dark or edgy than Twist Me. I would term this a "gray" romance, rather than a dark one, as there still are some edgier aspects associated with being captured but nowhere near the more dubious consent scenes that appear in the Twist Me Series.
Having started this journey, now I can't wait to continue the wild ride in Bind Me!
Book 2: Bind Me
4 "Falling for Her Captor but Bound to Another" Stars for the story and 4.5 Stars for the narration!
Please note this is book 2 of a trilogy that must be read in sequential order. If you have not yet started this series, please see my review for book 1, Capture Me, as the below review contains spoilers for book 1.
The Capture Me Series is a series that lovers of capture romances that are more on the lighter side of the spectrum ("gray romance") are sure to enjoy. Interestingly, the spin-off series is even lighter than the dark romance, Twist Me Series from which it was spun-off. Instead this series is really more just a classic erotic romance where the heroine happens to have been captured by the hero, so while there are some capture elements to the story, like the heroine sleeps handcuffed to the hero, there is no lack of consent or dubious consent scenes.
Picking up right where Capture Me leaves off, Yulia is being held captive by Lucas, presumably for questioning in connection with the hijaking of the plane that both Lucas and his boss, Julian (the hero from the Twist Me Series) were on and the crash that they shouldn't have survived (this actual event takes place in the Twist Me Series but it is recapped in this series so this series could be listened to as a standalone). However, as the days goes by, Yulia becomes increasingly suspicious and paradoxically more comfortable in the confines of Lucas' unexpectedly easy imprisonment. She hasn't been tortured, or even hurt, he's feeding her, and seems genuinely interested in her. Is this part of his strategy to break her down so he can gain her trust to discover who was involved and called the orders on the hijacking? But what will become of her after? Will she then see the full wrath of what this cruel enforcer is known for?
Further complicating matters is that she really enjoys their heat filled nights together. But is she only deluding herself in believing there could ever be a future together? And what will happen when he realizes that she will never betray her former handlers? Even if she wanted to accept Julian's offer of protection, the safety of someone who means the world to her is tied with her handler's fates and she will do anything to make sure he remains safe.
Shirl Rae and Roberto Scarlato continue their skilled narration in Bind Me. Having become used to the voices that this narrating duo used in book 1, Capture Me, I was pleased to see that they were able to maintain consistency in the voices in this book. This consistency really helped me fall back into the story very easily (even after having listened to a number of other unrelated books in between).
In addition to using distinguishable, character appropriate voices for each one of the characters, the dual narration style that the narrators used works great in this series as it helps the listener easily discern whose point of view is being shared with Ms. Rae narrating the chapters from Yulia's perspective and Mr. Scarlato the ones from Julian's perspective. Both narrators also do a good job of imparting emotion into their scenes making the dialogues believable.
All in all, I enjoyed the personal developments both in and out of the bedroom between Yulia and Lucas in Capture Me. It was interesting to watch two inherently suspicious, distrustful people learn how to meld their spy-trained ways with their undeniable desires and wants for the future. But this story ends in one big cliffhanger, so listeners will need to wait and see what the future holds for Yulia and Lucas until they listen to Claim Me, the final book in the trilogy.
Book 3: Claim Me
4.5 "True Love or Obsession?" Stars for the story and narration!
What a fitting conclusion to another captivating, captor romance! As truths are finally revealed hard decisions must be made. Can a relationship between a dominant captor ever evolve to a true HEA? Or is the Dom/Sub role forever tied to obsession without more?
Book 3 picks up where book 2 leaves off. Yulia has run away fearing for the life of her brother. To protect him she decides to come clean to her former handlers. However, her reunion is anything but happy when she discovers several secrets they have been withholding from her.
Lucas meanwhile can't let Yulia go and resolves to find her. When he does, he finally discovers the truth. But will he come to her and her brother's aid? Moreover, can Lucas keep Yulia safe from the one man who can destroy them both and who will never forget Yulia's betrayal (his boss, Julian)?
Even if he can capture her again physically, will Yulia ever decide to stay willingly? Is she just Lucas' obsession or more? Is a man who has been through what Lucas has been through even capable of more?
From the heat level to the plot development, Claim Me definitely had me panting from start to end. What a way to end it and for those fans of the Twist Me Series there is even a great Nora and Julian Epilogue at the end!
The narration was fab as always with remarkable consistency between characters voices both from the Twist Me Series and Capture Me Series. Shirl Rae and Robert Scarlatto really make you feel both the erotic energy and angst of this story making this a great series to experience in audio format.
All in all, the Capture Me Series is a must listen to romance for gray romance fans!

Book 1 & 2
Wow, I absolutely love it. Since this is a spin off from the Twist Me Series I highly recommend reading that series first! Capture Me starts off even darker than the Twist Me books and I have a pretty good feeling about how the story will continue. I'm a big fan of this author, so I know I'm in for a book treat. It's just one of those things where you can be relaxed knowing everything you read will be very good and also satisfying in the end.
Since we do get to see a small glimpse of Lucas and Yulia in the previous series, I was super excited about the news that Anna also wrote a complete series for them. I love how their story starts, although it's totally unromantic, since she tries to kill him but oh well, no love is perfect, right? To be honest, if all were roses and hearts it would be just plain boring. So a bit (a lot) of passion and sexual tension is the way to go in my book.
As already said, this book is a bit darker for me than the first book of Twist Me Series. We get thrown into lots of action and hot scenes right away. It's all about manipulation, secrecy, deceit, betrayal and of course about what happens when your feelings get in the way of doing your job and you in the end get caught by the same person you tried to kill. Well...let's just say I enjoyed these two stories a lot! There is a reason why I'm such a fan of Anna's and when you read her stories you'll totally get it.
Book 3
The final book of Capture me trilogy is bloody fantastic!!! I've read the book in one day and believe me that was a huge mistake, because now all that I can think about is when's the next book coming out?!!! I want more!!! The plot s just amazing, you get action, betrayal, love and so much more!!! Who knows, maybe we'll get more of Rosa's story, since there was a little hint in Claim Me that could have the potential to become the new plotline. Guess we'll wait and see. :)
I love the previous two books and Claim Me is no exception to how great Anna's storytelling is. Lucas and Yulia have to overcome so much, it really broke my heart. But at least the huge misunderstanding between them gets resolved, thankfully quite quick, and I couldn't be happier about how their story unfolded.
Yuila is definitely one of my favourite characters in this story. She has so much passion for the ones she loves and she would really do anything, even risk her life, to protect them. In the end, that's exactly what happens. She goes from one prison to another. But this time this is a real cruel and terrifying prison where there are no soft words or heated touches that make her forget her imprisonment. Only terror and fear rule her new word. What she believed to be true for so many years turns out to be a big lie that almost shatters her. All her life she was dedicated to only one person, that is her brother and now the sad truth is, he doesn't even know what to make out of her, the stranger that says to be his long lost sister.
Now, as far as Lucas goes, man he really grew on me. At first he was full of rage, jealousy and betrayal but now he's turned into someone Yulia can actually rely on. He learned to see past the first impressions and started to follow his heart and not only is brain. I loved his POV and how he stood up to Julian. I admit, Julian will always be my Nr. one but Lucas comes very close. Also, in all that heavy atmosphere he and Yulia found space to have fun and time to really get to know and to trust each other.
All in all, I have a new addition to my fav shelf and I seriously can't wait for the next Anna Zaires book!!! :)

This trilogy was so intriguing, you finally learn about Lucas Kent and Yulia Tzakova whom we met both in the Twist Me trilogy..I recommend you read Twist Me trilogy first! Anna Zaires pulls the reader in and keep them glued to the pages to find out what happens next. She has a way of writing that makes the reader feel the emotions of her characters..paints a picture with words to immerse the reader in her story. If you have not read any of her books..you need too. I wait with baited breath for her next book!

Loved this spinoff from the twist me trilogy. Loved the chapters Yulia and Lucas. Understood how Julian really had a hard time with Lucas being with Yulia because of her betrayal but understood the obsession that Lucas had with Yulia. I loved it, button as much as the Twist me trilogy but I would highly recommend anyone who loved the twist me trilogy.

Zaires & Zales are now officially on my favourite authors list. Never thought I would enjoy romances with Seals, Mercenaries, Mafia, etc but I couldn't put this book down. The sex was hot, the lust & tension palpable. Well written with great character development and interesting storyline. All set to read the Twisted Trilogy.
