The continued presence of Jai Long as a POV character, the continued growth of Wei Shi Lindon, and the very welcome worldbuilding keep this book as interesting as it's predecessors - if not more so. I haven't even mentioned the action! I can't wait to see what Will delivers us next.

I really enjoyed this book.
Lindon is a fun character to read about. I have enjoyed reading his exploits since Unsouled, and he is the best example of someone who WANTS something so badly they will do anything to get it. It is an admirable trait in him, leading him to any means of advancement. His solutions to the problems are always memorable, since he cant be anything but devious.
Pros: Enjoyable characters, plot surprises (I was thrown a loop several times, unusual for the genre), intrigue, and even the smartest characters get a bit set back. Makes you want more. Includes enough tantalizing hints to future complications to make everything suspenseful.
Cons: The book is good enough that my cons are all pretty minor. Eithan, despite telling us that he is in it for the long haul, and need companions who are driven to succeed, does not seem focused on success himself. Rather like a child, is the way he is described. Far from Lindon's throwing himself into work.
-Lindon is defined by defeating challenges far superior to himself. If he keeps advancing at this rate, there wont be much of those left.
These are pretty minor quibbles though-The book (and series) is superior.

These books begin to have more depth. What was just a half serious side story is now something I want more of constantly. The only thing I would like to see is more perspective writing. Giving a different feel to each character as the story is told through their eyes. Other than that, another fine outing by will wight

Blackflame is a great continuation to the story of Lindon and Yerin. Will writes very interesting characters and it's always a pleasure to watch them grow and meet new ones as well and Blackflame does a fantastic job here.

Ever since starting House of Blades I have enjoyed all of Will's books. Every new series is a new world to visit that is seemingly better than the last. 3 books into the Cradle series and I have to say it is my favorite although the others are very thrilling as well. Defenitely worth the read!

The Cradle series really kickstarted me back into reading. I started with Unsouled, and quickly read through book two. When Blackflame came out, I snatched it up and am currently enjoying it thoroughly.
I just wish these books could come out faster!

I've immensely enjoyed reading this author's works. The worst I can say about the series is that occasionally the descriptions become a bit too detailed, but that may be more my problem and less the authors. On the whole I eagerly await the next book in the series and thank will Wight for sharing these strange lands.

As expected, after i finished i was unbelievably sad and hopping for a book 4 surprise. I think it wasn't as good as the others, but still awesome and I can't wait for the story to evolve more. Five star recommendation

Fantastic read, well written, and unlike many others, the author has been actively teasing and discussing the series with his readers, which helps with building the intrigue towards the next book and helps me respect the author even more.

I love the twists that Will weaves in these stories, a good mix of standard hero development adjusted just enough to keep you guessing, with an endless supply of awesome rule-of-cool moments. Looking forward to the next one!

Fantastic book, can't wait for the fourth book. Kept me guessing the entire time. Everytime I thought I knew where he was going he through me a curve ball. The ending was a fantastic way to set up book four.

Really, fantastic work. I'll leave out superfluous details, since anyone reading this review should have already read the first two installments. Honestly, my only criticism could be that the books are too short. Not too short to be masterfully written and perfectly paced, mind you. Only too short to sate my hunger to continue reading Lindon and Yerin's story. Good show, Will
