Whereas book one seemed to be the attention grabber, the second one seemed more of a set-up for what I hope is a more exciting third book. Not bad, and very easy read, but didn't feel an overwhelming need to keep reading.

an intrigueing view on life after the apocolypse. Could not really identify with the characters however was able to empathize with the emotional aspects their situation. Too short, felt like it was just a chapter, needs more character depth. Hopefully with follow in the next books.

This follow on installment to Wool is better and more emotionally connected than the first, and throws you around inside your own head and heart.

On a side/technical note, I read this on my kindle fire, and the text was stuck at annoyingly large size font (even if switched in settings). Hopefully the publisher updates their kindle version for the fire format! BTW, the font size is normal on my previous kindled.
Beacon 23: Part One: Little Noises (Kindle Single) :: The Shell Collector: A Story of the Seven Seas :: The End is Nigh (Apocalypse Triptych Book 1) :: Wool 5 - The Stranded (Silo series) :: The Belt of the Buried Gods (Volume 1) - Sand Part 1

Fantastic world-building, characters of depth, wonderfully well written and a real treat for the imagination. I am thoroughly enjoying all of the Wool instalments, and keep thinking they would make a fantastic movie.

Wool - Part One hooked me to purchase this sequel, but I found a great disparity between the two. Whereas the pace of the short story was satisfactory, "2" seemed plodding, not well focused, and not particularly engaging. I didn't find the protagonists very well developed, and, frankly, I ended up not caring what happened to them. I kept getting the feeling that the slow pace was simply a set-up to buy the next in the series, although maybe I'm being uncharitable. What I found most irritating was the incongruities in the setting. Imagine a self-contained society so technically sophisticated that they mine, refine, process, grow, recycle, or produce all their own air, food, electricity, and fuel -- yet they don't know about elevators! So most of the story involves our heroes climbing or descending endless stairs! Geeesh!

Loved Wool, and continue to love Wool 2. Carrying on the tale of life in the silo. I feel like I am there, and know these people and cant wait for more. Keep on keeping on Mr Howey. You have captured me.

Hugh Howey is quickly becoming on my favorite writers. The Wool series will undoubtedly become a must read for all those interested post-apocalyptic/dystopian fiction. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see this series show up on the SYFY channel or on the big screen. It's that good.

After journeying to the down deep of the silo, Jahns is challenged by a senior member of The IT dept. Will she convince Juliette to leave the deep to become the sheriff? Surprising ending, what will happen next?

A friend recommended this series as a fan of scifi. I instantly became hooked. Have now read the entire series by Mr. Howey. Loved them all. Highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good science fiction tale!

I loved this book, especially since the main characters were not young hipsters but rather older adults with experience and maturity. But man, if one more character I love gets killed off I'm going to mutiny! Well written and gripping. Now if you'll excuse me, I have another installment to read.

Couldn't put it down! The storyline is amazing and the character very realistic. I personally like how both men are women in this series are portrayed with enough complexity to avoid the easy male/female binary.

Read Wool2 in two evenings after being dragged in by the original story. The description and characters are vey 3 dimensional.
I am very much looking forward to the third installment. Wonderful story.

Better than the first book which I gave the first one four stars. I couldn't put this one down. If you read the first one and don't get reeled in, by the end of the second, you're hooked. I went back and got the rest of the Wool series immediately.

In his second Wool offering, Howey delivers another set of well-realized characters, unfolds a well-paced love-story, and closes out with another surprise twist.

Just what is going on in this Silo? It's clear they're survivors from some apocalypse, and the tension mounts as to where these people are headed.

Utterly wonderful. The Silo is one hell of a world in which we get to see Hugh Howey's unique vision. I am REALLY looking forward to Wool3 because dammit, I have too many unanswered questions! Engaging, well-written speculative fiction, just not long enough! I finished this too quickly (yeah, I know it's a short story) and kept wishing there were more tales from the silo for me to read.

In this sequel to the great short story Wool, Hugh Howey tells a great story while revealing many more details of life in the silo. The details are rich, the story is entertaining, and the writing is superb. Bravo!

this read gives the observer insight and understanding into the society and conditions of life in the Silo where everyone lives ,works, and dies to become a memory for those who are left to carry on. The ending foretell a hint of book 3.

Superior writer, lots of suspense, without the detailed graphics. I just really felt that these people were heroic. I only rated it 4 stars because It is sort of a one-note tune. I haven't read all through them, so maybe
there will be some incredible surprises.

I never would have guessed I would be reading such a dynamic book as wool n now wool 2. I have purchased all 5 and am so anxious to continue reading. Love meeting a new and relatively unknown author. Great reads Mr Howdy. Btw. This is my very first review.
