I watched a video presentation of this author to a live audience. I would never have ordered the book without 'getting to know' the author in this way first, but I am totally pleased with her book full of information and insights. Dr. Christiane Northrup is witty, honest and obviously understands the field of woman's health. The book is helping me get to know myself and the wonderful way God has created a woman's body. I would recommend the book as a 'gradual informational read'.

this book has been great for me both personally and academically. It has been a great resource as I study feminism and the ways young women can develop positive identities when it comes to the way they view their bodies.

I came upon this book after having 2 consecutive miscarriages and looking for information about why this was happening to me. I wanted to understand my body and women's bodies better in order to help my own doctor help me. I have needed very little medical care throughout my adult life, and found this book enlightening and the writter to be very open-minded. I am grateful for this reference and though I don't have answers about why my own body isn't holding onto a baby, I feel very much more informed about my health and women's health. This book also helped me to deal with the stress and emotional issues felt by me as a result from 2 miscarriages. Upon reading just the first few chapters, I began to feel much more loving and patient towards my own body and encouraged about my reproductive process. I would highly recommend all women buy this book for their daughter and/or female friends.

I have followed Christine since her first Women's Body, Women's Wisdom book.
I find her writing pallatable. It all makes sense. The language used is sincere and believable.
Christine is the proof of her own writing.
I recommend the book to every woman who needs to expand their mind about their own worthiness.
Thank you Christine.

This is a fantastic book because the author is an MD but she also has a very holistic mind/ body approach to selfcare and medical care. I have read her books and reread them for years just to review her statements concerning how much stress level and mental/emotional health relate to physical health.

Are you ready to kiss yourself awake? If your answer is "YES" you are ready to embrace the wisdom of this book. Just be honest to yourself and allow the answers and healing to unfold just by reading. I can not speak highly enough of this book. I have read so many different books, scientific research etc. and Christiane Northrup has mastered to put most of it in just one Masterpiece, this book that you are about to read. I am so gratefull that I am able to gift it to every woman I deeply care about even translated in different languages. Enjoy healing!

This book is a treasure! It answered many questions I've always had about women's health issues that no physician or nurse practitioner has ever been able to fully explain coherently--e.g. detailed information about common health conditions, reliability of screening tests, pros and cons of different treatment options, etc. I feel more empowered now going to the doctor's office, whereas before, I would just (begrudgingly) consent to whatever treatment was prescribed to me without asking for other options. I also like that the author focuses on the spiritual, psychological, and emotional factors that influence one's physical health.

This book belongs in the library of every woman ready to take back control of her health. Northrup's alternative viewpoint is a breath of fresh air in a system clogged with disempowerment and controls -- insurance restrictions, pharmaceutical control, medical mistakes, and the worst health care system in the top 30 developed nations. This book has a lot of useful information. But I didn't realize that it is outdated. It was published 7 years ago and has no information on medical marijuana that I could find. I searched the book under marijuana and cannabis and found nothing. Considering that many doctors are recommending cannabis in lieu of prescription drugs it would be useful to know more about its medicinal use.

Every woman should own a copy of this book. Words fail to describe inspiring and useful it is for all women. Northrup bridges the gap between alternative therapies and western medicine approaches, and empowers the individual. Thank you!!

A wonderful, absolutely necessary book for every woman! I am so happy I read it now, before I ever thought of having children! It's a precious source of feminine wisdom from holistic prospective. The book will make you question a lot of conventional allopathic medicine practices, social dispositions of females and your own habits. Purchase with care because your life as a woman will never be the same again!

Dr. Northrup provides a spritual, emotional and scientific review of the human body. Her personal stories from herself and colleagues allows the reader to see physicians as humans not women raised on a pedestal. Diagrams are great to enhance the chapter content. Actual dosage reccomendations for supplements to improve health and the scientific backing for each reccomendation. I have re-read many segments of this book as I approach menopause. I wish I had this book as young women in my childbearing years. All women should have this book at their reach. I can see myself rereading this for a long time. I have reccomended it to 3 friends in the first two week I owned it. Don't miss out!

I love this deck. It is beautiful and very feminine. The colors are all soft pastels and the women featured in the deck are very diverse which you so rarely see in oracle and tarot decks. I was looking for a deck that I could while working with the sacred feminine energy. I have a few other decks that I'd hope to invoke that sort of soft, yet sexy female energy but I haven't been too impressed. This deck is the closet thing to a divine feminine energy oracle deck that I have found so far. I find the deck to be firm but gentle, just like you would expect from a mother or womanly mentor. It tells you what you need to know without sugar coating it but gives you a warm hug and a smile while it does it.
The structure is a bit different. There are 5 sections:
- Fertility and Creativity
- Partnership
- Nurturance/ Self Care
- Self-Expression
- Enlightened Heart and Mind
Withing each section are 10 themes or what is called developmental steps. These 10 themes are repeated in each section and although the themes are the same, the messages are not. Each section and individual card carries it's own transforming gift. There are 8 spreads I believe. I've tried 3 so far and have really enjoyed the messages I've received. I have some decks that don't offer any spreads so it's nice to see so many.
The descriptions are a bit short for many of the cards. That would be my only complaint. I did find myself wanting a little more from some of the cards. Also, there isn't a description of the 10 themes. I would've loved to see something that tied each theme across the sections. Or at least a little more on the thought process of why the author chose to make the themes the same for each section. This would easily have had a 5 if that were included.
