A curiosity and fascination with outer space led to this purchase for my eight year old grandson. We were delighted with our purchase. The language is simple and straight forward. The book is a great companion for his over-sized wall poster of the solar system. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the book . It explains things easily. The only thing I didnt get was on one page, it said "the next 3 planets are the gas giants..." and it has a picture of 4 planets. I dont know if its a typo or what! LOL Then it also confused me because it doesnt consider Pluto a planet. I grew up thinkingit was. Maybe scientists changed that recently but it threw me off a little.

My husband and I purchased this book for our daughter who is fascinated with astronomy. We were disappointed that it still lists Pluto as a planet and there are not rings around planets that have rings in some illustrations. I thought I had read in the description that it had been reprinted since Pluto was downgraded, but I guess it hasn't....

I bought this book for my 6 year old granddaughter and she absolutely loved it. She was learning about space in school and very interested in the stars and planets. I love finding good educational books for my grandchildren. Thanks, Lynn Wilson. This "hit the spot" with my granddaughter and me :)

This was bought for our space obsessed 3 year old. The books content is a bit more than a 3 year old needs but he enjoys being read this book anyhow. the information in this book is very good and would be very appropriate for children who are more than 3 years old, probably the target audience is school age children.

This is geared more towards younger kids, but both my 5 and 7 year old daughter's equally enjoyed it. It's loaded with facts and presented in a beautiful way that holds children's interest. The illustrations are nicely done, and overall this is a great short read

Now that space travel is an option, it's important that children today grow up thinking about outer space. Although this book doesn't get into deep scientific detail, it's a good early step toward learning about space, and all the possibilities that space travel has to offer.
Although I do not agree with the heliocentric ideas presented in this book, it is healthy for a child to dream about traveling in outer space. So I feel that any book that can get a child thinking about outer space is worth buying.
