This book is a great addition to my library. Beyond basic serging I needed to be schooled. This book is very helpful in that regard. I look forward to trying some of the techniques in the book. It is written well and the information is easy to understand.

My new serger came with great technical documentation, but no examples of what the different stitches are used for, or really useful troubleshooting techniques. I figured out a little and then bought this book. All the information I sought is right here. Granted it's probably fairly basic stuff, but it's just what I needed to know and is presented in a very user-friendly manner. There are multiple examples of uses for various stitches (and plenty of pictures) that helped me connect them with their names so I could get more value from the documentation booklet supplied with the machine. This book isn't machine specific so using both together gave me the best results.
I greatly appreciate the troubleshooting section of the book as it describes what to look for first, second, etc, when you're not getting the results you expect, and again, lots of pictured examples to help you identify your exact problem. Since I'd just gone through one such episode, eventually finding the problem on my own, I knew this book was right on target (and if I'd had it sooner, I'd have saved that hour of frustration). There are also tips and tricks that have really helped me, such as how to change threads more easily. I must say the serger intimidates me a little, but this book has made the learning curve much shorter and I know I will continue to get use from it as my skills mature because there are examples of more complicated things I look forward to trying. I've found it well worth the purchase.

I bought a serger recently and needed more information about what it could do etc. This book for the amazing $2.00 and change price was amazing. This is a modern looking book--with lots of nice large pictures. It gives you a chapter each on threads, stitching, tension, controls, etc. etc. What is not to like? It's a really nice book.

Straightforward, simple information. Helped get me get the basics down with my first serger. This is written sortof for the Joann's crowd though (lots of sparkly threads for your potpourri-stuffed Christmas poofs), so I was disappointed to not see examples of working with better quality materials (chiffon, silk, linen).

This is a very informative book especially if you are new to serging.....it contains instructions as to how to thread the serger, types of threads best suited for the serger, instructions on how to do the roll hem etc.

Absolutely love this book, sorry I did not buy it with my first serger, very easy to understand easy to follow directions as well as full color photos. Worth every penny i spent on it. Certainly great for someone just beginning to serge. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Sergers are not the easiest machine to learn to use. This book is great. It explains the different parts of the machine, the stiches and how/when to use them and accessories/thread. I am so happy I ordered this book. It also arrived ahead of time.

Purchased this book and studied it before touching my serger. Have to say, I was intimidated, but took off running withing the first 30 minutes, I'm happy to own it to go back and reference from time to time, a great handbook.

Excellent book about serging. It has lots of pictures along with the text that together make this book so informative. I just purchased a serger, and this book is extremely helpful to me as a person just starting to use a serger. I highly recommend this book.
