Okay yes it has a great story and great leads, but what earned it's rating is the humor. This book had me laughing so hard that I could keep reading, great book for when you need some humor in your life.

It has been almost a year since I read the fire and ice trilogy so I felt a little rusty at the start of this book. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the author. Her books are well written and feel good to read.

I really enjoyed this story. I fell in love with the characters and the plot was fast paced. Language was mild mostly (and generally funny). It was relatively clean although there were no qualms about premarital sex, nothing past heavy foreplay happened. Still not a book I'd recommend to teens for this reason though.

This author K F Need me really knows how to write. All of the characters were rich even the minor characters had strong storylines. The heroine is fantastic not a shrinking violet. No spoilers here this one you just have to read. I laughed till I cried on some pages and my eyes ate up the pages. This one is really worth the read and its free on kindle!

So when a spectacular new character comes along, we simply have to get her a series of her own, right? KF Breene has done it again with Penny, a beautiful, strong heroine who is flawed (like all of us) but learns to embrace her true self in order to grow. This book is FUNNY, sexy, heart warming, thrilling and all the other feels❤️. I highly recommend this, especially if you love Reagan.

This book was a great continuation of the fire and ice series. It show Penny’s journey into learning magic. I love her overprotective smother. Penny is powerful and I can wait until the whole band is back together. Great book and with very funny parts. Loved it

I devoured this book. I read the first two Reagan books (Fire and Ice trilogy) before jumping to this one and LOVED it. Penny is super relatable and a great main character. Emery is swoon-worthy. There is a ton of action, but the romantic aspects are a main part of the book, which I also loved. The secondary characters are great. Highly recommend.

This book goes nowhere fast. I listened ti chapter 13 (1/3 thru) and still can't justify any interest in finishing. Plot may become evident in retrospect, farther in, but there is so far no content that would peak my interest to wait for that to build.

From page one, Penny's story draws you in. I'll put a plug in for a Tempurpedic mattress so you don't wake your partner's slumber while holding in your belly laughs. I can't wait for Natural Mage to see if Emery comes back into the story.

I read her Fire and Ice series first. I feel that this surpasses it in its storytelling. Lots of magic and adventure. Interesting characters and the ending felt natural. Im looking forward to the next book!

The mother and daughter relationship was killing me, yuck. The book also took awhile to get interesting, almost halfway through. The dialogue between characters was unrealistic, and the whole swearing thing twisted my insides. Overall the book was just ok. I wish it was more.

I didn't get past chapter six, as it started to feel like reading this book had become a chore instead of a fun activity. The book wasn't that humorous to me, and while it had an interesting premise, it was taking a long time to get off the ground.

I thought this was an excellent book. I enjoyed reading it. I like the character cross-over and the heroine is well written and a fully realized character—which doesn’t always develop in spin-off series. I’m looking forward to reading the following books!

I rarely write reviews, however, this book stayed with me, popping into my head throughout busy work and family days. I especially enjoyed the mother and daughter dynamics. Even the though the mother was the punchline of jokes and frustration, she was also treated with admiration and respect. I absolutely enjoyed seeing Penny emerge as a fierce protagonist and can't wait to jump into the next book in the series tonight.

What a great beginning to penny’s story!!! She has so much potential in this series and you could tell by the end of the book, all potential will be explored. K.F. Breene outdid herself as she does every book. I’m in love with these characters!!! Great read!!!

My first KF Breene book that has me reading all the rest. Penny is a fun relatable character with an over protective mother and Emery is swoon worthy!!! I need one in my life! An easy read to decompress from the day. Grab it and jump into a world of magic and mayhem.

Another action packed, laugh out loud adventure by Breene. Penny & Emery's adventures will leave you wanting more. Can't wait for book 2. I hope we get to see Dizzy & Callie in the next book. I love the dual mages!

I want to be a badass like Penny’s mother when I grow up (I am 67). I love books that are romantic, exciting and humorous. I really laughed out loud, which is kinda weird when one is reading alone. On to book two!

I love penny! Emery has the bad boy untouchable vibe but he just can’t resist penny. Reagan is still my all time favorite character by breene. So the book with penny and Reagan is going to be awesome!

The story draws you in immediately. Penny and Emery have a great chemistry that begs for the next book. I love the glimpses of beloved characters from Fire and Ice , eagerly awaiting to more in next book.

I love her strong female characters that don't need to be rescued. Penny is sarcastic and realistic and her version of cursing is hilarious. The story line is great and flows really well. It is a great start to a series but fits really well with Fire and Ice (that is the intro to their world).

I could not get into this story. While the premise was interesting, the switch in point of views was choppy. The story felt underdeveloped. I read this through Kindle Unlimited. If I had bought it, I would have been really disappointed.

K.F. Breene is an amazing writer. This book can be read as a stand alone or as a continuation of the Fire and Ice series (I would recommend reading ALL of her books. But, the Fire and Ice first if you want to read this, you will not regret it.).

to start off id like to say I didn't finish the book, I tired it started to get bad around 40%, and I thought it was going to turn back again once they got done establishing the romance angle. but after another 1/4 of the book I gave up. the beginning of the book was actually pretty good, as I said it kept me reading for quite a while. even in the beginning though there were places where I was reading along I id just stop because all of a sudden I had no idea what was going on, id go back several lines and reread several times going back a little further each time trying to get things to make sense again. usually it was only by ignoring it and reading on id get a sense of the new "scene" for lack of a better term. by that time id already been confused for more than a full page. after the romance novel thing started and she was being "taught" she kept doing things like telling him no that's not right stand here, and they'd say that her magic weave thing was well put together (despite being shown almost nothing at that point). the romance part of the book is standard fare, im not really into that being a big thing in my reading material in all fairness so if that's your thing this may not be a negative, the author kept finding new ways to say that emery was laughing at different situations but I could never find anything funny that had happened, he was laughing at awkward things the girl said or did but they were not funny or even silly. it repeatedly felt like there was an inside joke I missed or something.

Really good read and it never lets you down. Spunk and charisma in every word. I’ve read so many books and this one was a refreshing change. I will be reading the other books and following this author. Can’t wait to find out what happens next ...

Interesting new series, built steadily but a tad slower and it took me a little longer to “ get” the protagonist.....but the book drew me in and it ended way too soon....looking forward to the next in tye series

GRAMMATICAL ERRORS ABOUND! Interesting the author points out grammatical errors within the heroine’s neighborhood when this book contains grammatical errors. An example was using “planning on” as a verb. It should have read: “plan to.” Also, the heroine’s thoughts did not match her actions. Frick frack nickel back?!? A 24-year old would not think or say that. And what 24-year old these days would know the movie Labyrinth? So many disconnects in this book. A HOT MESS.

I'm shocked that so many people gave this book a 5-star review. I honestly couldn't finish the book. It was horrible. A total hot mess and without a doubt not worth the read. Looking for a good book? Trust me when I say, do yourself a favor and skip this one.
