Megan Landay a recent hire finds herself on a desert retreat with a bunch of strangers. She hoped that she would make some friends, but they just ignored her. While they were all socializing, she steps outside into the cool desert night air and takes a walk. She glances up to see a fiery object hurtling towards her. She takes off running to get out of the way of the crash. The explosion throws her and breaks her arm. Suddenly an ugly alien approaches her an places a glowing object against her belly. It lights up with warmth and disappears into her body. Seconds later, another space ship heads towards her. Just not her day! A tall, well-muscled, handsome man approaches and places his hand on her belly. She is strangely not offended. The pain in her arm and other injuries from the first crash took their toll, she faints.

She wakes up in a strange room on a strange bed being attended by both the handsome man and another alien, this one appears to be a medic. He gives her something for the pain, and the large handsome alien picks her up and carries her to his chambers.
She finds out his name is Mikaal Ahrisi, King of Omaron. Mikaal has many serious issues to take care of and did not need another one. The theft of his essence. from a locked vault was not the work of just one man. The medic says that any attempt to separate his child from the inferior human woman would most likely result in the death of both of them. She will need to stay until his heir is born. His half-sister Suri must have her own fast sources of information, because she soon appears letting him know how pleased she is that this has tweaked the nose of her mother. She would love for her brother to marry the human and make her his queen. Her mother wants the human killed and a new essence locked in the vault. Mikaal has no intention of ever getting married. The human will bear his heir.

They do not get along to well at first, nor the second or third day.... He keeps calling her 'human'. She does not treat him with the deference due his royal status, her clothes are inappropriate for pregnancy, she is rude and bossy. She thinks he is arrogant, bossy, controlling, and yummy to look at. She wants to go home, NOW!

He informs her that she will stay until the baby is born, then she may leave. When she learns that a pregnancy lasts 6 months, she is upset, but figures it could be worse, until she learns that one day on Omaron is the equivalent to 3 Earth days. That makes for an 18 month pregnancy. NO WAY! Send me home, now! Go find your perfect woman and impregnate her. They continue to trade barbs as they begin to get to know and even respect and like each other. Like turns to love, and we get our HEA after catching the evil culprits. Loved this short story. Each of Juno Wells stories have a unique take on what could be a repetitious oft read story. Juno never seems to run out of wonderful stories. I've read quite a few and will continue to read her varied works. WELL DONE!!

A receptionist at a straw supply company, Megan Landay is content with her ordinary life. Sure she still harbors some resentment toward her ex, but that's normal. What's not normal is the sudden appearance of the skilled alien warrior, Mikaal Ahrisi. Even worse is his arrogant demand she stay on his planet long enough to give birth to his child. The petite, human female isn't Mikaal’s ideal choice as a mother to his offspring, but he no longer has a choice in the matter. Feisty and stubborn beyond reason, she's not like any of the women on his planet. Her presence in his life should be temporary, but as time passes he becomes uncertain if he should ever let her go.

An interesting read with a different type of abduction story. Megan wants to return home and is angry at the handsome alien king, Mikaal, for keeping her from returning to Earth. She does realize his position because she is carrying his child through no fault of either one of them. Mikaal finds the feisty Megan attractive and attempts to remain neutral in his feelings for her.

Trouble: A Soldier of the Union
Drennan Laral was trained as a soldier. He moved on to be a space pirate after a tragic loss. He sees a news display offering a reward for the return of the human Caitlin Oyari, whom is reported missing. He feels drawn to her, that she is need of his help, but moves passed because he despises all humans. Caitlin is fed up with doing what she is told to do and being forced into a marriage to a horrible man to further her father's political career is the last straw. She now finds herself a captive, being threatened, instead of on her journey. Drennan cannot deny her cries for help.

Drennan finds Caitlin irritating, capable, and attractive. Not anything he expected from a human. Caitlin is intent on completing her journey and wants to convince Drennan to fly her there. An insta-lust with species distrust and bounty hunters searching for Caitlin.

I love these kind of books, this one particularly was a little bit different and that definitely got my attention from the first page. The whole fast pace plot was original, enjoyable and very interesting, the author created a completely different world with history, traditions, species/colors. The story began when Megan stood in the wrong place the wrong time and from an ordinary human suddenly became a royal..with the Alien King's baby...ooh yeah you read right..now how is going to react and what the king Mikaal is going to do?? well you have to read to learn!!!

Loved both characters and how the attraction between them developed from denial to acceptance and how some of their beliefs changed because of this attraction. Mikaal is the dominant/possessive/protective king you expect him to be and he has found his match upon Megan's rebellious personality their dialogues were very enjoyable and generally the secondary characters made the story even more interesting. Also i have to add that it has a bonus story Troubled which was also very interesting and enjoyable.

Boring. Same thing, different names. Yawn. And it's immature. It's the same old abduction and betrayal scenario. Oh, and these aliens get 'vacations.' Isn't it nice to have aliens visit who we can relate to?

Rating 3.5
Alien abduction with a little twist. Being pregnant with his child (through no fault of either party) gives the hero a reason to capture and retain Megan. This does away with many of the standard objections that a heroine usually has and sets up an interesting situation. This is not an insta-love, fated mates type of story--although the attraction is immediate on both parts. I found Megan's feelings about her pregnancy interesting and realistic. For a romance, not everything is romanticized. The suspense element was negligible and fairly weak, just there to pad out the story. Megan is a feisty, plain-spoken heroine. Mikkel is a real alpha with a tendency to "steamroll" (Megan's word) over any objections or feelings that she has at first. Learning to deal with each other and to address their desire for each other takes time. I thought the epilogue was a little neat and cheesy but will be appreciated by many for the ultimate HEA effect. Like other Juno Wells titles, this is an entertaining read when something lightweight and simple is called for.

Jeez, talk about being hit from all sides when all you wanted was a simple break from work! Witnessing an alien aircraft crash, having said Alien jump you, being abducted and finding out you were intentionally impregnated with an Alien kings baby and then being held hostage on a foreign planet was all in a days misfortune for Megan. Not your average thirty minute break or work place environment you see everyday but Megan handles it all with a quick wit and sassy attitude. The king, Mikaal, has a lot to handle if he thinks he can easily pushover this human who unwillingly is the mother of his child. Amidst betrayal and political maneuvering they both have to accept each other and the growing attraction they can't hide. Simple plot, characters and storyline that meshed well together. Bonus story included at the end.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an exciting plot, this storyline was unique which is not often seen. The characters were able to develop at a pace that was intriguing and well defined. They learned from not only each other but those around them. It is not often we can find a book that holds our attention from beginning to end, but this is one of those stories. This is a must for any Scifi fan.

A very unusual encounter leaves Megan pregnant with the child of the ruler of another planet. Mikaal was not expecting a human to be the mother of his child but wants to make the best of the situation. He brings her to his planet and Megan is in for a big adjustment.

It is a fun storyline and a fast read. It is a cute little romance.

You also get a bonus story about a human woman trying to escape from her father's political plans and finding an alien that is willing to take a risk to help her.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Megan lives an ordinary life until a spaceship crashes right next to her and a green monstrosity jumps her and implants a baby in her. Mikaal is chasing the theif of his essence and once he catches him it is too late!! Now he has to deal with a human as the mother of his child. Megan and Mikaal have to learn to get along at least until she has the baby. Mikaal slowly falls for Meghan and vice versa. Can they make things work for more than juat the baby? This book was pretty good. A nice read with a bonus story and I love getting a bonus!

Sometimes luck just isn't in the cards. One simple walk since things are going the same way they always do. Alone. That is until the crash on a small plane and something else ruins her night plans.
Of all the things to go wrong, this was unexpected. One he should put an end to immediately. So why can't he just follow through?
They end up butting head-on, both stuborn and out of sync with each other's company while another war rages on around them.
Great read, beautiful story. Love that they're both headstrong and amiable at the same time, when they figure out what they want. Truly enjoyed the adventure in this book. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Megan is attending a work retreat and has come to regret her decision, so she goes for a walk to get away from her fellow employees. When she hears an odd noise, she looks up to see an object falling from the sky directly toward where she is standing. Mikaal is King of Omaron, and finds himslf with a human woman, who just happens to be carrying his child. Interesting plot and fascinating characters, a great read.

I love receiving review copies from Juno Wells, I get the next book a few days earlier, in exchange for an honest review... and with each book I find myself transported.

In this story Megan and Mikaal, an alien king, do not know one another, and unfortunately for them a thief has decided that NOW is the time for the King to start making babies. Both characters are dealing with the consequences of an unexpected pregnancy with a total stranger and trying to figure how to proceed.

The concept behind the story was interesting, and I really enjoyed the world, and the characters. The sexual tension between the two leads could be cut with a knife. The downside to the story was the suspense aspect was lackluster, and I would have liked the climax drawn out.

With that I am rating the story 3 boundless stars, “it was good and I enjoyed it.”

Note: I did not read the bonus story....Sara

What a way to get pregnant, bit strange.
But unlucky her she is taken, because the baby is an heir of the king.
He is not so happy with a human being pregnant with his baby.
But she doesn't let him rule her world.
I like the way she sticks up for herself.
It does take some time before they finally do something with the attraction between them.
And when that happens it is hot

The story had many humorous parts starting from the beginning when Megan is implanted with Mikaal's ecsense which basically made her pregnent. Both are determined not to have anything to do with each other, but their attraction grows as they spend more time together. Megan has to adjust to all the new races and life in the palace, while Mikaal has to figure out what to do with a human.

Another great read by Juno Wells. Going for a walk should not mean you end up pregnant by an alien and on a different planet but that is what happens. It also should not lead to love but it does much to the surprise of the the expecting parents but not to anyone else who meets them. And the bonus book included is worth the read.

I really enjoyed this story. Too many times the stories feel rush. They meet and in the next breath they are in love. This one wasn't like that. There was more to it. I love the plot and the story. I enjoyed the characters. This was one that is well worth the read. It was well written and well thought out.

This is a short but well-written story. The characters feel real and the plot is interesting enough. The world also has a lot of creative elements. For me, their love came a little too fast and the plot needed more, but I think this read is pretty darn good for being so short.
