The Bane Chronicles

I purchased this set for my grandchild, as he had read the first two books and wanted the whole set. I was talked into reading the first "City of Bones" and even though this is not my type of reading, I enjoyed it very much

I seen the preview of the movie and seen it came from a book so you know they say they book is better than the movie so I has to read it for myself because the movie trailer it looks very good. I have not been disappointed in these books. I just hope the movie is as good as the books.

This is a great set of books! Even though it is YA fiction, as an adult woman I still enjoyed the series. However, after finishing the fifth book I was still wondering where the story was going... so many unfinished stories that are waiting to be told. I am a bit disappointed in that, as there is a lot of resolving that needs to be done in some of the major story plots.

Overall, good story. Light, easy read.

The book are awesome.
They were delivered in less than week.

Two of the books were damage.
The covers on the the book number 5 was damage and scratch, and book number two some of the pages were blank.

But the book overall are pretty damn cool.

Set of 5 is good read. Book 6 pushes to far into areas I dont want to read about. Should not cross the line beyond kissing. Nothing explicit or detailed is in the book but still I think the author went to far with this one.

Haven't read the books yet but this product is superficially quite nice. The box is very sturdy and sleek. The artwork on the book covers and spines is gorgeous. My only complaint is they stuck this heinous "Soon to be an ABC family original series" sticker on the FRONT cover of EVERY single book and on like three sides of the box. Fortunately I was able to very carefully, painstakingly peel them off without damaging the covers. I had to use a slight bit of rubbing alcohol to get the sticky gunk off. But seriously what is the point? Everyone knows they're making a tv show and everyone knows it's going to inevitably be terrible since it's on ABC Family. Excuse me....*Freeform. Plus it's not even an "original" series. Just glad there wasn't permanent damage!

LOVED this series!! My daughter got me hooked after watching the movie (she kept saying-"that's not right-it didn't happen that way!") I have really enjoyed the entire series- and having the first 5 books in one place, being able to read them one after the other was great! I also enjoyed being able to have something to talk to my teenage daughter about, something she really enjoyed. I really enjoy how Cassandra Clare gets the reader into the story- she gives you just enough background and setting for you to be able to visualize the scene, but not so much as to slow down the reader. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and seeing how they all interacted with each other, what the past relationships were,ect. I cannot wait to read The Infernal Devices series- I enjoy having even more to talk to my daughter about- this series has allowed us to grow even closer and we have our own inside jokes (like Jaces' mangoes!) I would recommend this series to anyone wanting a book series that can keep them wanting more! Mrs. Clare delivers and keeps you wanting more!

I really got caught up In the story and could not stop reading until I finished the last book. So looking forward to the next book. It is great reading for anyone. I bought the series got my 20 year old daughter and I ended up reading it too.

I am enjoying reading this series, and I love the image on the spines. I am disappointed that the set didn't come with a box to put them in, but arrived wrapped in plastic. I know another review said the same thing, this will not come in a box.

These books came way sooner than I expected them to come! They were in perfect condition (brand new) and we just what I expected. They were paperback and just amazing. I already finished reading them and could not be more happy!

This books really made disconnect myself from the world sometimes. It takes you to wonderful places were every story you were told as a kid is actually real! It has action, drama, romance, comedy, sarcasm, hot guys.. What else could you ask for?

I have extremely enjoyed this series. Book 3 and 4 dragged a little but they did pick up. The entire series was riveting to the point my husband threatened to destroy my Kindle, I was reading constantly. Very good!!!

I love TMI bok series, its always full of suspense and keeps you on your toes and wanting more. I love books where you can sit and get lost in. It as romance and action and mystery. I'm pretty much obsessed!

This series is amazing! It's a must read. It captures you from the moment you begin reading the book. I highly recommend the series and the Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare as well, it's a prequel to The Mortal Instruments.

Clare has captured the essence of today's teenager from their desire to be more and their lack of experience to make thoughtful decisions. A major plus is that it is an exciting fairy tale and I really enjoyed reading it!

City of Lost Souls continues to live up to the excellence of The Mortal Instruments Series. This book is eerie, puzzling, exciting and romantic in nature. It keeps you turning the pages trying to figure out who is real and honest and who is evil. The war scene between good and evil is pins and needles, white knuckled worry and excitement. I enjoyed learning more about each character's personality and makeup. It was a special delight to see Simon shine. The romance that develops and deepens between Magnus and Alec is beautiful and heartening. Simon's and Isabelle's uncertain relationship develops into a budding romance. Whereas Clary and Jace's relationship is fatefully defined as a once in a lifetime, willing to kill for, two become one, forever after love, that has some unusual circumstances to contend with. As always, Clare leaves us anxiously awaiting the next book.

I am really surprised that this series is rated as Young Adult, which technically ranges from ages 12-18. I would really not want a 12 or 13 year old reading this series as some of the content is massively inappropriate. If you are a parent, please read the series yourself first and make the judgement call yourself as to whether this is acceptable for your kids. Am I being a prude? No, I just believe in leaving adult content for the adults. I am literally amazed that this passed as YA fiction and was actually on the Children's Bestseller List. Not to mention that the stories themselves were not great and didn't really add any value to the characters for me. I'll stick to the big books from now on.

I took a chance here while shopping online for something new to read. I have to admit I had never heard of Cassandra Clare, although it seems she has been publishing for a few years. I love paranormal and romance so I took a chance and a big one as this set was not cheap! I'm glad I did. The writer creates a wonderful world of Shadowhunters who are a race of people half angel/half human whose mission it is to rid the world of demons that come here from other dimensions. Regular people 'Mundanes' for the most part are completely unaware of them. Then there are the Downworlders comprising of Warlocks who live for hundreds of years, Faeries who are beautiful but very dangerous, Vampires and Warewolves. This is different from anything I've read in this genre before. Very original. The characters grew on me. This series can rival Harry Potter or the Twilight Saga any day!

Completed the series in less than a month. It was a good read and once you start it was really hard to put it down. The only way you would not like it is if you aren't into the whole supernatural creatures/beings thing.

Received the books as promised in perfect and brand new condition!! They are a great series, and I recommend them to anyone who loves the Twilight series, the Beautiful Creatures series, or Anne Rice books! Great Reads!!

I loved the 1st three books of this series! I was totally sucked into the story...then comes City of Fallen Angels. I feel the books should have stopped at 3. The 4th and 5th installments in this series just feel like they are dragging the story on and on. I got through them easily enough, was just very disappointed because I loved the 1st three books so much.

I bought this item to give it to a friend who is a big fan of these books! It arrived in a timely manner and the packaging was well secured. The friend was really happy receiving the gift, that being said, the product is great! Highly recommended. More power to the seller! Job well done .

I truly loved these books I could not put them down and found these characters to be interesting and I truly cared what happened to them. I recommend them for all ages. Now I can't wait for the movie to come out!!!

This has quickly become one of my 18 year old daughter's favorite series of books! She always has a book in her hand. Since she got these, she has hardly been able to put them down! Great price on the complete set of books! Now, how to get her to set them aside and get working on college scholarships!!

I've had the first 3 books but they were so old and beaten up and mismatched. THE BOOKS are amazing. This isn't so much a review for the product, although it was in great condition and came fast enough (after 3-4 attempts even with my instructions), as it is for the books. The storyline is captivating and so exciting. The movie was not so great, I wouldn't suggest watching it (Jace is hotter in the books).

I just got this and I'm more than half way through. The story is completely engrossing and the characters are totally relatable. Clare adds levels of intrigue and wonder to the world we live in every day.

The Good:

The first three books. I would highly recommend the first three books. The story is fantastic with a great villain. I was hooked and couldn't stop reading. Book 3 had a truly great ending.

The Bad & The Ugly:

Book 4 is both bad and ugly. It had so much potential. Except right after you think it will be good (like Clary training) it takes a dive off a clip into a black hole. The book is boring and the story is terrible. So much that I skipped pages. Then the ending is so terrible, like one of the worst ever, I won't even read book 5. After checking a review of book 5 on Goodreads, the book seems to be as terrible as I thought if not more. Do Not buy this set! Buy the individual books 1,2, and 3 then stop. Reading book 4 is a waste of time and money.

Cant wait for the next book of this series. Once you start reading this you'll get hooked and you wont stop reading. It also feels like a combination of a lot of novels (werewolves, fairies, vampires, angels, etc)

In the picture it shows the books in a boxset. Mine however did not come in a boxset. Just loose books. This was a gift for a friend of mine and was expecting something nicer than just loose books. Other than that I'm happy.

I quite enjoyed most of Miss Cassandra's other books and series. I found this on lacking. I think I expected much more from Mr. Bane. I was also quite disappointed to find the paperback s were less expensive, the text to speech is disabled, and to have it narrated is an extra $13. Ridiculous.

Love these books! They look awesome and I have no problems with the books themselves. I did contact the seller for tracking information. Their response was quick and apologetic because they could not provide tracking information. The books arrived in about 6 days though so they arrived much faster than I had expected. The first book also seems to be written in a different font and/or size that the rest of them. They are easy to read but it was still a noticeable change.

I found out after I read this that the Infernal Devices prequel was published after Mortal Instruments. I am really glad I read them in reverse order. It was awesome to tie the past into the present. Lots of twists and turns and OMG moments. Would recommend to all my book buddies.

Books look perfect, and I love the image they have on the back. They came much faster than stated, which is always a pro. Only little disappointment is that the books didn't come in a collection box, so if they need to be transported they have to be picked up individually.

Saw the movie and it was terrible. But the story had promise so I read the books. The books are amazing!! I couldn't put them down. My poor kids ate cereal or mac and cheese the whole time I was reading this because I didn't want to put it down long enough to make dinner ( then. Daddy stepped in and made dinner the rest of the week) but I really liked it

I love the art on the spines and covers of this set, and the fact that it comes in the box as well. It is super convenient to keep the paperbacks intact, and unharmed, and also it is a super cute display. The books are amazing on definitely one of my favorite series.

Another young adult paranormal star crossed destined to be together but oh my the obstacles series. Still that should be a reason to pass this series. I followed it to the end and enjoyed the journey. I'd say the first novel was the best, but Clare finished the series strong. All in all the whole series gets a B grade from me

I like the book (a bit on the young adult side but pretty well written though not perfect), the main problem is that IT IS NOT THE WHOLE SAGA! It 5 books out of 6. I did not pay attention just assuming is was the whole story.. but it is not.. be aware!
