Dirty Deeds is another interesting book from Lorelei James. As always, James creates complex, interesting characters. Tate’s request to get sex lessons from Nathan seems like every man’s fantasy. He’s wildly attracted to his sister’s friend, she’s willing, what else could he want? It turns out his intent is to prove he can be romantic. Who’d have thought - a romance novel where the man is holding out?

Poor Tate already doubts her sexual attractiveness and now Nathan is shutting her down. He seems so attracted but this isn’t the result she’d expected. The back and forth between these two lasts a bit too long though they do have a few sexy interchanges just shy of sex.

Just when they’re ready to go all in, Nathan’s sister goes into labor and makes the two promise to keep their hands off while taking care of the kids.

The babysitting, though horribly strenuous, makes both Nathan and Tate realize how much they want families but, in all too realistic style, they are afraid to admit it to each other. They are both starting to think they want more than the brief fling they originally planned but are too insecure in the new relationship to be honest.

Despite their opposing goals, the two can’t help but give in to their mutual destiny though they’re not quite ready for their happily ever after. There’s more stress on the way before these two love birds can finally get on with their life.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dirty Deeds and James remains one of my favorite authors.

Title: Dirty Deeds
Author: Lorelei James

4 unexpected stars

Oh my dear! Have I read Lorelei James in the past? I'm still trying to figure that one out while I'm catching my breath. Dirty Deeds was hot. Sexy. And everything you'd hope for in a good girl/bad boy story. I was instantly captivated and wanted more every time I'd open the book to keep going. Nathan is the type of man that every woman could hope to meet at least once in their lives (even as a book boyfriend) and Tate, the strong willed woman, even if innocent in so many ways, we wished we could have traded place with for as long as Lorelei James kept us hooked.
4.5 sexy dreams

This couple was intense and for me, accompanied with Lorelei James' capacity to spin a great story, it was perfect. They knew what they wanted and needed without all the 'fluff and drama' that I've come to get used to lately. I wanted more from this author - and by that, I mean that I wanted to keep reading more from her, and I can't wait to dive into more in the very near future.

Lorelei James writes another great book! I loved it!
Have you ever wanted what you can’t have? Then change your mind and decide you want it? Well that is what Tate and Nathan both do but neither of them are willing to admit it.
Tate Cross wants to forget the mess her life has become in Denver. She is in Spearfish, South Dakota she is taking care of the late Aunts house. She needs to take care of some updates and while she is doing that she wants a no strings sex relationship. She asks one of her best friends to help her with that. Her best friend set her up with her brother.
Nathan LeBeau wants a relationship where the woman sees him for more than his Native American skin and his hard work. He wants to prove he is not just good for sex, but his sister doesn’t know that. So, his sister is setting him up with Tate.
There is a hiccup in Tate’s Aunts property clean up and she needs to clean up the landscape. Nathan can help her with that and Tate is wanting to trade sex for his help. Nathan wants to help he is hoping for art lessons to help his landscaping company.
So, what happens when you have a woman that wants sex but is not fully ready for it, and a man that wants a relationship but is not fully ready for it?

Tate Cross an graphic artist comes to Spearfish to settle the her late aunt's estate.
She hires landscapener Nathan LeBeau an native american and former bad boy.
He needs lektions in drawing and in exchange he landscapes her yard.
He wants to win an landscaping competition and enrolls with Tate's assignment without her knowledge.
And then is there this little agreement of " he teaches her to have hot s**."
But he disregards their agreement- choosing his own agenda because he wants romance and date nights. She only wants carnal- she thinks.
He strings her along and also has issues with his indian heritage. But that's are only his issues.
She likes him for himself just fine.
Tate is insecure just like Nathan. But boy did I want to shake some sense into her wile reading.
And finally Nathan brakes the camel's back and Tate grows a backbone and disappeares.
I wanted to shout YES YES YES. Finally Tate !! Go girl !!
I rella really loved this book.
5 Stars and a Huge Thank you Lorelei James !!

I had read the original version of Dirty Deeds years ago and was curious to see if I would like it as much as I had previously when the opportunity to review the re-release came up. Sadly either as a reviewer my tastes have changed through the years or I just didn’t connect with the story like I had the first time so because of that my original rating was lowered.

The story was the same as I remembered but certain things bothered me more this time. Nathan and Tate just didn’t work for me this time around. I am usually all for a woman who knows what she wants and goes for it, but the way Tate was on more than one occasion just had me wanting to explain that there is a difference than having a wild fling versus acting like a whore to achieve that goal. Nathan after a while I just was over his character.

I really do have a feeling that this is the case of my personal interests have changed since I originally read Dirty Deeds but at the same time this isn’t one I feel like I am able to yell from the rooftops recommending either. Form your own opinions with this one, maybe you will feel differently that I did.

Favorite Quotes:

Malcolm. His name slithered through the recesses of her mind like the snake he was.

‘You’ve talked?’ Val repeated the word ‘talked’ in hushed tones like it was a communicable disease.

Tate was dynamite. He was a match. An explosive combination they couldn’t set off right now.

My Review:

Lorelei James typically brings the heat in her own unique brand of spicy romances, and her revamped Dirty Deeds sizzled and snapped with volcanically hot sensual scenes that had me gasping and frantically clutching for hydration. The storyline was current, relevant, and frequently angsty with endearing yet deeply flawed protagonists who were nearing or at that significant age where many of us find ourselves questioning our goals, struggling with life transitions, and floundering within a holding pattern. Written from a third person POV, the story was erotic, emotive, and insightful with hits of humor tucked in for good measure. And how could anyone not love a book that begins and ends with mentions of Nirvana – and I am not talking about the band…

5 Stars *****

I thought that I had read every book that Lorelei James had ever written but somehow I missed this book. As soon as I found out, I was quick to rectify that problem and holy geez I am happy that I did. Dirty Deeds was amazing!
I loved how Tate was so open and honest with Nathan about what she wanted and I loved that she looked beyond what he did for a living. This book gives you all of the warm (sometimes smoking hot) fuzzies that we have come to love from LJ’s book and it will definitely not disappoint you.
In this book, Tate needs some landscaping done on the house that she inherited from her aunt but she is low on funds and refuses to take money from her family. She makes a deal with Nathan to exchange talents (hers for art lessons and his landscaping services) and maybe some casual, no strings attached type of lovin’. Nathan says that he is ok with this but he is tired of the casual hook ups and wants more from Tate but is also scared of pushing her away. When the tensions blast through the roof, will either of them be left standing?

I have read all the Rough Rider series by Lorelei James and I just had to read Dirty Deeds when it was offered! It is definitely a different genre than Rough Riders. I really enjoyed reading Dirty Deeds. I would like to have read Dirty Deeds from 2006 and now with all the revisions to see what the changes were. I think Lorelei James corrected some of the problems from her previous reviews for this updated version. I think it is Hot in all the right areas.

Dirty Deeds is Nathan LeBeau & Tate Cross story. I will let you read the synopsis for yourself. I loved Tate, and my my she might be innocent but, she is set on getting down and dirty with Nathan. She says she doesn’t need the romance. Nathan on the other hand really wants to romance her and he is ready for a relationship, not a fling like Tate wants and of course she doesn’t know this.

I really enjoyed Dirty Deeds and I look forward to reading more of Lorelei James Contemporary Romances.

I give Dirty Deeds 4.5 stars. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Yes, the title says Dirty...and it is Lorelei James....so is it any wonder how awesome this story is??? Nathan is a bad boy wanting to find romance. Tate is a good girl looking for some hot....well, you know. This is a twist on the usual guy wants girl story. I truly enjoyed watching Nathan try to woo Tate. He tries, he really does, as much as he knows how. And Tate, who has been burned before, just wants to lose herself in a physical relationship, forget the hearts and flowers...

I know this is a re-release of an earlier story and I actually had the first one. Lorelei made several updates and the sweet factor turned a little more into the hot factor. I think this is more in line with her recent books like the Rough Rider series and the Need You series. Readers who follow her from years ago will appreciate the growth and readers who are new to her writing will continue to enjoy it....

Thoughts: With Lorelei James being the author - and a title like Dirty Deeds! - I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't come together for me in this instance. It was just a bit unbelievable overall for me. My major disconnect with the book though was the constant emphasis on the Nathan's heritage and the fact that he is Native American - it just did not seem important to the story for me. It almost seemed like the author couldn't decide if she wanted to make discrimination into an integral part of the story or not, so instead it sort of just...wavered. I found it disturbing to the storyline, and I know Lorelei James and her talent - she is capable of so much more with her writing! These characters were just difficult to connect with, period. Not one of Lorelei's best works.

Settling up her aunt’s estate and selling the house should be simple, but Tate Cross finds that things are a bit more complicated than she previously thought. The town of Spearfish has decided that the house will need some special landscaping and renovations before it can be sold. Tate finds herself struggling with the changes and prays she can quickly remedy the situation. Count on Tate’s friend Val to come up with a solution. One that will tempt Tate to let go of her inner ‘bad girl’ and live a little.

Val’s brother Nathan LeBeau owns a landscaping business. He has struggled to prove to the town that he is a knowledgeable businessman…fighting the stigma attached to Native Americans. When the chance to enter in a landscaping contest presents itself, Nathan thinks he has no prospects to enter. Then Val gives him that prospect. Her friend Tate needs landscaping work on her house and is willing to trade the work for art lessons. Val also throws out the possibility of some no-strings attached sex in the mix. Nathan can’t believe what he has heard. Isn’t this too good to be true?

When Tate and Nathan meet they instantly find an attraction. Nathan goes against everything he has ever done and asks Tate to go out on dates with him. After all, he needs to get to know her better before they jump into anything together. Tate feels the burn of her desire for Nate. Wanting to experience a relationship that possesses no-strings fuels the desire she feels. However - Nate holds out on her at every turn. What does a girl have to do to get Nate in the sack?

As the sparks fly, Nate and Tate are in a battle of wills. Both wanting the opposite of the other. Each with their own agenda. Will they find the spark sizzles out? Secrets from both of their pasts will threaten any future these two could possibly have.

Dirty Deeds is the first book I have read by Lorelei James. It is a sexy, feel good type of romance that brings two determined characters together. The fast paced story is driven by the premise of what family is all about. This brisk romance will leave you smiling as you turn the pages. It’s definitely a great read!! Don’t take my word for it….check it out for yourself!

Tate Cross, sweet hardworking graphic artist, and Nathan LeBeau, hot Native American Indian, workaholic, cross paths in Spearfish and agree to share each other's "talents" to accomplish some short term goals. Tate, recently burned in the romance department, wants landscaping work to get her inherited aunt's house up to code and some no strings sex lessons. Nathan, Mr. No Romance, wants some art lessons to professionalize his landscaping designs and is willing to throw in the sex lessons once he meets beautiful Tate. Great story, funny and sweet, as they both fight what they truly want, trust, love, romance and the mutual respect to balance their lives. Loved the story and always enjoy reading Ms. James' books, familiar places and characters.

DIRTY DEEDS has everything I always expect in a Lorelei James novel. Lovable characters that you come to care for as the book progresses, and you feel an immediate connection to. A sense of family. And lots of sexiness.

Tate Cross comes to Spearfish to settle her aunt’s estate and sell her house. However she runs into some issues with renovations to the house before she’s able to sell. And as she doesn’t have the money to afford the renovations, she comes up with creative arrangements to pay for the work she needs done. Especially when it comes to her landscaping. Nathan LeBeau is the perfect guy for the job!

Nathan is also tasked with helping Tate get a little wild in her otherwise boring sex life. For an arrangement that they both thought would be forced or not as enjoyable when it first came up, their chemistry showed strong from the get go. The sexual sparks were flying from their first interaction and I was just hooked.

DIRTY DEEDS is the type of sexy and feel good book you don’t want to put down. Even though I think we could’ve gone a little deeper into how much prejudice, of his Native American background and his “dirty” job, has affected Nathan. And even some of Tate’s background and the things that have made her tick in the past, including her family and her career. But even without all that backstory fully developed you still got the a good feel for who they were and how good they could compliment each other. In and out of the bedroom.

As a fan of the author, I’m glad I was able to get a look at an older title that I otherwise might’ve not gone back to look at.

Anything with Lorelei James' name on it is a must read for me. Dirty Deeds was a solid story that I would certainly read again. There is great character development and an interesting plot which allowed me to finish this story very quickly. Smoking hot in all the right places!!

The only 2 reasons why this book is receiving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I'm still confused why Nate mislead Tate and didn't really feel this was explained well or maybe it was because his reasoning was so lame. I also would like to have seen the issue with Grace and her husband resolved, considering this isn't a series.

Overall, if you are looking for a fast-paced, sizzling romance, look no further than Dirty Deeds.

When Tate hires her friends brother with help to renovate a house she inherited from an aunt, it's not just his landscaping skill Tate is interested in.

She's hoping for Nathan to help her with other deeds of a short no strings deal, whereas Nathan wants romance for a change. They trade of skills to help each other get what they need. Will Tate want more in the end from Nathan other than his dirty deeds and will he persuade the stubborn Tate to try something more real?

The was fast paced read filled with plenty innuendo. I enjoyed this book, I can't wait to see what other types of work this author has, because this has whet my appetite to try more.

Sometimes, being responsible really stinks. This morning, I wanted so badly to stay home from work and keep reading this book. It was so hard to put it down and go. I absolutely loved this book! Lorelei James is a finominal writer. She does such a great job developing the characters and the storyline. There were times in this book that I wanted to scream at both Nathan and Tate or knock some sense into them. It is a most wonderful story. I highly recommend this book, but keep in mind, that once you start it, you are not going to want to put it down. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced copy.

Thank you Lorelei James for writing yet another beautiful love story featuring a captivating couple Nathan & Tate and being able to read their amazing journey.
This book was such a sweet, riveting, romance and for this reason I absolutely loved it. We were able to read for ourselves how their past relationships had affected them coming into the beginning of their relationship, Tate wanting a hot fling with no attachments and Nathan wanting to try being in a romantic relationship. You were able to connect and relate with Nathan and Tate right from the start of the book. Absolutely loved this couple, yet another great read from Lorelei James.

Lorelei James has been one of my favourite writers since I started reading the Rough riders series and I've been hooked ever since. Lorelei you are truly talented and gifted and I look forward to the next book from this AMAZING aurthor

Tate Cross has decided she wants mind-blowing sex with no commitments. Tate's best friend Val Westfield decides that her brother Nathan LeBeau is perfect for her. Besides the no strings attached sex, Nathan is a landscaper and could help Tate landscape the house she has inherited from her aunt. Nathan has decided that he needs to work on his romantic side, meeting Tate will guarantee hot sex and give him the opportunity to compete in the Maxwell Landscaping Competition while Tate in turn helps him with landscape design.

When they meet, it's lust at first site for both of them, but what happens when lust turns into something more? And, what happens when Tate finds out about the competition Nathan neglected to tell her about?

Dirty Deeds is full of romance and hot sex. Nathan is so charming. He's romantic and passionate and incredibly sexy. Tate is a lot of fun. I wished that she had accepted what Nathan offered right away, but I had to wait for that. I really liked Nathan and Tate together. They fit. Dirty Deeds is emotional and passionate, and it has a heart warming ending as well.

This is a sweet story about two lonely people connecting and learning to break free from their normal lives.

Tate is a graphic designer in town to remodel/repair her late Aunt's house to sale. Nathan owns his own sewer/ditch digging business but wants to do landscaping. When the city demands she gets the yard up to ordinance, Nathan is there to help out. They make a deal, she wants no strings sex and he wants art lessons. They dance around each other and then finally give in to the attraction between. Then feelings get involved and kind of complicates things. Will there deal stay intact or will they fall for each other?

I did enjoy the book, it jumped around a little more than I liked, but other than that it is a good read. I loved the characters and the storyline.

Sometimes a girl just needs a good shag every now and then. Sometimes a boy wants to shoot for the moon and find a girl willing to go along for the long haul. What happens when girl meets boy? FIREWORKS!

I absolutely loved Lorelei James' DIRTY DEEDS! Not your typical romance read, Tate and Nathan are older characters with careers and lives and all that goes with that. They each bring baggage to the relationship, one that wasn't to last longer that a summer, but it's the tenderness and love of their budding friendship and relationship that makes them perfect! Having not read the previous edition of Dirty Deeds, I cannot offer a comparison between this updated version and the original. What I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Tate and Nathan, the lead characters. Typically, James’s novels are set within a series, but, to my knowledge, this particular story is a complete standalone. I wouldn’t categorize this book as erotic, however, it did have a fair number of steamy scenes. While not my favorite of James’s books, I think the storyline is strong, and good for a weekend read.

Dirty Deeds is one of the gentler Lorelei James offerings I've read, but by no means is it less than R rated. Dirty Deeds is sweet. Not what I was expecting from the title or author. Not that it isn't a good book, because it is. I had some issues with all the insecurity on both sides it just got tedious.
