Book of desires discovering you. Sometimes what you "think" you need may not be what you need at all. The things that you were too afraid of may be exactly tailored for you. That's what Amber finds out in this passionate novel.

A Must Read!

I enjoyed the emotional components of this book in addition to the sexy scenes. There was family drama, past relationship trust issues, death of loved one, and a murder mystery all skillfully woven in. Nicely done, Ms. Day!

What woman doesn't want the love of a good man? But two? Amber finds out there is true happiness with Stone and Cade even when tragedy strikes. The trials and struggles of this relationship make for a wonderful story. Excited to read more of the Montana Promises series.

From the very first page, the storyline drew me in. As I turned each page, I found myself not wanting to stop reading. Stone and Cade are great character's to fix a broken heart of their future lady. Looking forward to Book 2.

There was compassion on many levels that led to interest and on to intrigue! I enjoyed the story development of both the relationship and the mystery. They were equally thought and brought out to conclusion! Even the last scene was a welcome to the ending of the book!

Enjoyed this book. It was nice that the author included background about her characters. Like that this had a HEA and no cliff hangers , but I know enough about other people in the story to want to read more in this series

This was the first book I had read in a very long time after taking a hiatus from reading and reviewing. I'm glad I picked this book. It had suspense and intrigue, and extremely likable characters. I'm hoping this story continues!

I was left disappointed in the story and some of the main characters. It kind of bounced around found it hard to finish the book. I can read a 300 page book in 2 days this book took me over 3 weeks to read.

This was a very steamy book. It had a plot, good story line, suspense, mystery, murder, lust, sex and a bit of a menage relation ship. It was a step out side the box of every day romances. Well thought out and written.

While rather unconventional, it was totally hot. I've heard of relationships like this, it would be nice to have two men meet the needs of their woman, In all ways. Must read and get the rest of their story.

Found this new release after reading her werewolf series which I loved. This one is good but my favorite will be her werewolf series. This author is on my to watch list for new releases. She puts a lot of thought into her books and I enjoy her stories immensely. Give her a try you will like her too.

I would have liked a little less suspense and more steam. There was very little time with them all together as a couple. I needed to see more growth from them, especially amber. She was very immature die her age.

I liked this crime/romance story quite a bit. The unsolved crime (which I figured out about half way through, although it was a guess!), is what MADE this erotic romance. The author needs a better proofreader.

* * SPOILERS BELOW * *

The synopsis of this book sounded interesting, and I was down for a steamy read, but I had trouble suspending my disbelief for a good portion of the book. Or maybe I just didn't get into it, but it just seemed like a stretch for a lot of things.

They live some place called "Rock Hard" and there is a high percentage of "menage" relationships there (what, is there something in the water?). The main character spends half the book sort of crushing on this guy Stone, but then sleeps with his roommate in the same evening that she decides he's actually not such a bad guy after all (previously, she hated him). Luckily, the guys are fine with that and think she might be "the one for them" despite barely knowing her. And within weeks, they both go down on one knee to propose, even though she can only marry one of them legally.

There's also a background serial killer plot (and I mean really background...there's virtually no development or exposure to the character we find out did the killings), but it's mostly (and clearly) about the sex. Which I honestly did not really even find very steamy. The roommate - the one she didn't like until suddenly she did - is bringing over a butt plug on the second date, and despite her never having done any of that before, she ends up loving it, of course.

Just not the book for me, I guess.

There is a good storyline in this book. Little mystery, intrigue, and romance. Good characters development also. Enjoy the dynamics between the main characters. Of course there is some sex also but it isn't overly done and doesn't take away from the story. Would recommend it.

Enjoyable eras with really nice characters but the relationship seemed to move really fast considering they weren't able to spend much time together as a threesome since they all worked so much. Can't tell if that was done on purpose for less sex scenes or not.

This book makes me want to move to Hard Rock, Montana. I loved this story and can't wait to read the next one in the series. Ms. Vella Day is a very good up and coming writer and I look forward to what she offers in the future. She is making a great start now.

I loved this book. Not sure what I was expecting but the story was much more. The characters are dynamic and easy to like and there was no hint at the suspense until the characters were figuring it out

Loved the storyline....Promises has a little bit of everything; mystery, romance, and a few totally steamy minage sequences. I was ready to move there, if I could have two guys that adored and worshipped me like these guys did! Can't wait for the next book!!

I couldn't even finish the book. It's so unrealistic and cheesy. Of course any female would like to have 2 men to be in love with and cater to her. Puke =/ I only liked to mystery part so I think I need to change my choice of books.

I liked this book. It was an easy read but you could figure out where it was going pretty easily. If you want a really great suspense book, this will not be it but if you want an easy read with good characters, it's a good choice.

I don't usually read reviews before I purchase a book, unless the synopsis is vague, and I didn't read the reviews before purchasing this book. I'm so glad I didn't! I read the first chapter before I read the reviews and kept expecting to get to the part where I was unable to continue reading - I never got to that part. I haven't read many books about mercy killings although I have heard about them. I'm sure there are very few vocations that can boast that there have been no instances of tragic events. After reading this book, my admiration for the healthcare givers remains.

Now for the storyline..... I always like to read books where I actually like the main characters involved and I do like the main characters in this book. Their characters are real and react to the tragic events around them as most people do, though there are 1 or 2 places I wondered what they were thinking. I think the story was well developed and delivered. The romance was present from the beginning and the steamy parts were there and steamy as well. What this book lacked was a lot of gratuitous sex. The sex scenes, I believe, were well written and well placed and did not take the place of scenes that enhanced the story.

This is my first book to read from this author and I intend to read more of her books.

I will admit I cannot quite wrap my head around the whole threesome relationship, but it was a beautiful story. The passion was intense and the suspense intriguing. You cannot get much better than that. I will read more by Vella Day.

I had high hopes for this book when I grabbed it. When I made it to the part where the medical information was inaccurate I stopped reading. It was at about 12% in .... "she stilled, her mind spinning fast. "I don't remember, but wasn't he hooked up to a heart monitor?" ..."Not after we took him off the ventilator". That is ridiculous. A trauma patient comes into the hospital, finally stabilizes, the ventilator is removed, but then the nurses don't bother to keep him on a heart monitor?? Stop it. That's not even standard protocol.

Especially in romance novels, where most of the focus will be on the main characters, I thought it very unfair of the writer to get me attached to the brother, only to hanger him killed. There was so much written about his struggles, I started to hope his story arc would end well. It would've been better to have him die soon after the accident to prevent attachments to him as a character. For this reason, I couldn't even finish the book.

It also didn't delivery on the bold promises the summary provided.

I don't usually write bad reviews as I realise authors go to a good deal of effort to write their books. However, I do read other's reviews before I read books, so I thought that I should. The premise is good but the delivery lacks. The characters and dialogue are rather wooden and I found myself skipping bits so I could finish quicker (once I start, I generally have to finish a book).

This was a menage adult contemporary romance written in the third person. Set in the present in rock Hard, Montana.
This book is about a cop, a fireman, and a nurse. The fireman helps her brother and she works in the hospital he is brought to, the cop suspects her of murder but can't believe it. The two men (best friends who share) find that they really like her and she them.
I really enjoyed this book in fact I loved it and look forward to more in the series. I was in tears a few times and the sex was hot. I really loved the story that was around these three. I couldn't put it down, read it in one sitting. I needed to know who-done-it and needed them to have their happy ever after. I was glad she could reconnect with her mother, that made me smile.
I would recommend to anyone who loves menage books.

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.
I saw the synopsis and knew that I needed to read it. Hunky men in menage relationship. What is not to love. Not only did this story deliver on the romance in the menage but there was so much more to it. The story does not strictly revolve around the bedroom scenes. I actually prefer reading a story line somewhere in between the sex scenes so I was enjoying this story.
Amber Delacroix is an Oncology nurse at the local hospital when one of her patients unexpectantly and suspiciously dies. When her younger irresponsible brother Chris has his spinal cord severed in a serious motorcycle accident and then he too mysteriously dies suspicion falls on Amber.
The hot paramedic Stone Benson finds himself attracted to Amber and he is there to help her grieve for her brother. His roommate Cade is the police officer in charge of the hospital deaths and he is doing whatever he can to solve the mystery. Now these two men have been known to share women in the past and are looking for that special woman to complete them forever. Too bad that the one that Stone has his eye one for that is the one that Cade has his eye on for murder.
The three of them have some issues to get through while allowing Amber to heal from the unexpected death of her brother. During the time it takes Cade to clear her name he finds himself attracted to her as well. Amber has never been in a menage before so things need to go slowly for her.
I think that author did a great job with the story line. I loved how the three of them discovered one another while allowing Amber to get to know these two men one on one and then with the three of them together. I aslo liked how the story did not simply jump from sex scene to another sex scene but instead allowed us to get to know the characters, their families and finally to solve the mystery of the mercy deaths. It was not all smooth sailing romance for these three and there is some danger that just jumps out of the blue.
I truly enjoyed this story, would rate it a 4/5 and would definately read more from this author. Well, look at that she has more in this series for me to read. Hoorah!!

I received a copy for an honest review. If you're looking for a "wham-bam-thank-you-man" menage story...Yes, you'll be sadly disappointed. However, if you're looking for a great medical suspense, honest (but still interesting) look of a a M/F/M relationship you're love this.

The storyline keeps you on your toes about "who dunnit" with the mercy killings. So thought it was someone else until Amber walks in on the person being suspicious. (Read another review for spoilers...I so hate when the whole plot, with names, is given away in a review.

I especially enjoyed the building, realistic stumbling blocks, if building a relationship. AND then how (in this case) a woman deals with being initiated and accepting a three some. All the overcoming real hurdles of jobs shift conflicts, family acceptance, and still finding a killer.

Thanks for drawing me into a story and enticing me to continue with the series!

Having read other books by this author I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I liked the storyline mystery of an Angle of Death but thought the main characters were a little too removed from the events that were occurring ,especially since Amber's brother was killed. Stone and Cade's courtship was rather unorthodox considering the situation and Amber overcoming her brothers death in a matter of days just did not seem realistic. The ending was kind of anticlimactic and I really did not see the characters or the reader getting any real closure from the traumatic events that occurred. The story did not seem to flow smoothly and the characters menage relationship seemed to come together really fast with out a lot of group interactions. Even though I had issues with this storyline, I did enjoy reading it. However it was not up to the quality I have come to associate with this author.

LOVED this book!!!! This book grabbed my attention from the very first chapter and never dropped it until the very last page and I still wanted more! I cannot wait to read more from both this author and this series. Amber is an oncology nurse and is a total sweetheart. Then add in Cade and Stone and BAM instant combustion! They are all drawn together when Amber's brother is involved in an accident and paramedic Stone visits after rescuing him and then police office Cade is brought in when Amber's patients begin meeting questionable ends. The chemistry between the three of them is magnetic and you just know that something wonderful is going to happen and it does! In the beginning Cade is leery of Amber, but then once he gets to know her, he has to decide if she could possibly be a killer. I started this book and the next thing I knew I had not moved until I read the last word. It kept me interested and I highly recommend this.

Fun sexy and intriguing story!
In an unfortunate moment of loss she meets him.
Stone is a lovable strong guy who apparently can’t stay away from her, fun and adorable she is living the dream.
Then she meets the idiot… yeah she hates cade on the spot when he blames her for a murder.
But once she is cleared things change and then she notice he is not that bad at all.
So she wants two roommates, what could go wrong?
I enjoyed every little part of the book, the sex scenes where amazing and so where the mystery scenes.
We get sex, murders and threesome fun, can’t get any better !

This was so much more than expected! I enjoy reading books from Vella, so I anticipated a well written, good read. However, the depth of the story, the scope of the characters, not to mention the suspense and menage relationship and WOW! The details that make up Stone, Cade and Amber make it easy to feel a connection to them, Amber's growth throughout the story as she struggles with many of her personal relationships is believable, and Stone and Cade are the alpha men every woman dreams of!
This was an awesome beginning to the series and I look forward to reading the rest of it!

I received this book as a free download. This book wasn't horrible ( I did finish it ) but it wasn't great. The storyline started out pretty good, then it just got too far fetched and unbelievable. Also, for it to be a ménage romance, it really needed more than one scene. I won't be reading more in this series.

A well written and balanced book with a little bit of everything. A hot ménage read with elements of suspense, tragedy, dysfunctional relationships and romance that kept me intrigued. I didn't want to put it down. While addressing complex and depressing issues Vella day manages to keep the story moving along balancing the sadness with some sweet, hot and heartfelt moments.
While I loved the chemistry between Amber, Cade and Stone I found the disconnect between dealing with Chris's injury and events after lacking a little. Apart from that I am looking forward to reading more of Vella Day's work and would recommend.

Unlike some other readers, I think this book has a lot going for it. It shows how strong some woman are and how well they cope. The men and their jobs are problematic in the story but until you live with someone keeping in touch constantly is not always possible. I like Ms Day's writing and still plan to read other of her books.

Amber is a nurse that deals with Cancer patients. One day one of them dies before their time, they were murdered. Then her brother get into a life altering accident. Her life just keeps getting better and better.....rolling my eyes.

Stone is the EMT God that rescued her brother, and rescues her too.

Cane at first thinks that Amber is suspect, but is relieved to find she isn't . Then Stone and Cane work together to make Amber theirs.

They are sooo sweet as a triad. I love how they work together to figure out who done it!

I really enjoyed this book. It is not a sex book it is more about relationships. Different lifestyles and trying to make them work when all parties are adults and have jobs. It is a murder mystery romance between two males and one female. A paramedic and a detective that share an apartment and their women find one to keep in an oncolgy nurse.

i am a fan of romances. However, I could not get into this book. It was too hackneyed. The useless mother, the noble and strong sister, and the younger brother in crisis. Meanwhile, a cop suspects her of wrongdoing, and his conflicted best friend will have to solve the mystery, save the day, and, I'm sure, somehow heal the sibling or make him accept his limitations with a smile on his face. And that was in the first 75 pages. Not even worth the zero cents I paid for it.

I really enjoyed Amber, Stone, and Cade. Amber and Cade don't really like each other at first, until they both learn that they both know Stone. Once Amber and Cade put down their guards and are nice to each other they realize they have a lot in common. Stone is such a great guy and is there for Amber when she needs a friend. This book had a good mystery and suspense, but it also had some really sad parts. This book had a lot of emotion in it. I enjoyed watching Amber, Cade and Stone work through their relationship. This is a definite re-read and I look forward to reading more in the series.

The book offended me as it was presented as pornographic. It would have rather interesting if the author
didn't feel she had to be so explicit. When the book was finished she did say it was not for young readers.
I give it an F.

This is one of the best books I have read. I LOVED it! The in depth look into each character gives you a bigger look as to who they are individually and then as they come together. The suspense in this story is riveting and you will want to keep reading to find out what happens next. These characters take you on a journey as some come to terms with the past, deal with the struggles of loss, learning to allow true love in and letting us see the full passion that encompasses each one as they let their hearts lead them to where they were meant to be. Vella Day has written an outstanding book and I highly recommend it. It is a MUST READ and trust me you won't be able to put it down! You will love it!!

This is my 1st book by Vella Day and I really enjoyed her writing. The story is plausible, dialogue good and the characters had something other than fluff. It was an all around meaty read. I enjoyed it enough to buy her 2nd in the series (both can be stand alone) and buzzed through that one too.

I am so glad I did not pay for this book. I found it so incredibly boring and found myself skipping multiple pages. What the heck did I care what they made for dinner (which went into great detail every time they ate, mind you) ugh and if I had to read Cade calling Amber "sugar" one more time or reading about how he "wanted to drink in her sweet nectar" I found myself wanting to throw this book more than anything. So cheesy.
