This is the third book in the Kilgore Fire Series. It is a stand alone, but the other books are just as awesome as this one. I look forward to each and every new release of Lani’s. It doesn’t matter which series, I will read it ASAP. I love how all of her series are connected and we will see those characters in the other books.

This is Drew’s story.

I absolutely love Drew! He is in his early forties, has a sixteen year old daughter, and he is on the fire department and a medic for the SWAT team. He’s also at the end of the divorce process.

He is a great dad and man.

Aspen is Downy’s little sister. She is funny as hell. Man did she give it to her ex. Only thing is…He’s also a cop and it landed her on house arrest.

I love these two.

There are a few twists and they’re awesome. The sex is off the charts!

Just like in all the other books, the beginning of each chapter had me laughing!

“Men and women are different. If a man is scorned, he’ll show up at night. If a woman is scorned, she’ll show up at your job and smash your s*** in front of everyone.”

“14,000 people are having sex right now. 156,000 are kissing. Then there’s you. You’re reading this instead of getting some.”

Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because I didn’t end your miserable existence like I wanted to, b****.”

Oxygen Deprived is the third release in the Kilgore Fire series. In Lani fashion that we all love we have exceptional characters, banter between characters we have known from prior series and stories and of course the random thoughts from our characters prior to each chapter (which have become my favorite things).

The prologue of this book sets everything in motion. Im not going to say what happens but I kept wondering to myself when in the world is this going to be recognized and you wonder why you are being told or its being inferred BUT let me tell you that I understood completely as I read along. For me this was a beautiful love story ….. Im not your typical love story girl so lets clear that up – I mean hide your crazy – no … why …. And this has my brand of cray cray in it. LOVE IT!

Aspen and Drew are fantastically written. These two are something else. This is a great story also about characters with somewhat of an age gap but couldn’t be more right for each other as well as what happens when you “think” you are so in love at such a young age. Aspen is under house arrest – (bwwwaahhhhhh – why … Im not telling). Drew is her neighbor – just moved in and a medic for the SWAT team ending up hanging with the Kilgore team on a volunteer basis. Aspen’s job is very interesting to say the least. In fact, its one I promise you we all wish we had and could be successful at. Keep an eye on the things she gets sent as well and from where. LOVE IT.

This book is just plain hilarious – I love the fact that we have a snippet of everything giving us an entire Lani pie – meaning you get all the good rolled up into one in Oxygen Deprived. You get a bit of Luke (Center Mass – KPD SWAT) – Tai is of course there from our first release in the Kilgore series – Downy is Aspen’s brother (Lachlan Downy from Bang Switch KPD SWAT release 3) – and a few other goodies. I’ve decided after this one I going to go revisit each character and pair them up with their lady so that I can keep track while continue to read all of the series we are generously given from Lani – I absolutely love that old friends are pulled back into these books. Do you need to read the others .. no these are all stand alones but I don’t know why you wouldn’t – every single book is worth the click ---

Get this one friends – you wont regret it. The ride with Aspen and Drew is hilariously written and worth every minute. Thank you Lani for the ARC! You are amazing as always. The cover is fantastic – Gary . ….. the eyes …… you rule. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets

Oxygen Deprived is the third book in the Kilgore Fire series and it’s quite a wild ride for Drew and Aspen.

Drew is recently divorced and is dealing with a witch of an ex-wife. He has a fifteen-year-old daughter who doesn’t make life any less easier on him either. He’s a firefighter and medic on the SWAT team and a guy you can’t help but love.

Aspen is on house arrest because of her cheating ex and the poor decision she made to get revenge on him. She is quite a character who is cute, quirky, and so adorable.

When Aspen meets Drew, her new neighbor, she can’t help but be attracted to him, but who wouldn’t? He seems like the perfect package – hot and downright sexy. When Drew ends up helping her in more ways than one, they know they want to know more about each other, but they are both so leery. His wife is a bitch, who keeps getting in the way and Aspen is still dealing with having her heart broken.

As things happen and Aspen’s ex starts causing trouble along with more drama from his daughter that he least expected, life certainly isn’t easy for either of them, but they are drawn to each other more than ever. I loved how Drew became so protective over her! Even though he was dealing with a crazy ex, he wanted to keep Aspen safe and I loved him even more for that.

I just loved their relationship because even though it’s complicated for them both, they worked so well together. Their life wasn’t easy at times but that’s what made them perfect. They balanced each other out and were amazing together. Aspen is a strong character who doesn’t let life keep her down. When she finds herself in danger, believe me, she fights back and Drew and his guys are shocked. I was laughing so many times during this book because I loved that she didn’t just roll over and let her past rule her. She was definitely a fighter that I just loved! I recommend this 4 star book and I need another hot firefighter book now!

Oxygen Deprived is definitely one of my favorites of Lani Lynn Vale's books. I love that the couple is not perfect...they definitely have their flaws...and that's what makes them great together. He's a player, she's a bit crazy, but in the end they round each other out in the best ways.

Drew is a SWAT medic, divorced dad with a crazy ex, an angry teen daughter and isn't looking for anything serious with anyone. Aspen is a blogger on house arrest with an ankle monitor for beating up the truck of her cheating cop boyfriend...except, wait for it, she did it in front of the police station. You can't help but laugh at the author's ingeniousness. You might ask how these two ever got together. Well, for one, she's stuck at home and ends up needing help doing things the monitor stops her from doing. Just an aside here, her brother, Downy is one of my very favorite characters from another series...I was not a fan of him in this book, but he did come around so i'll think about forgiving him. Anyway, they become friends, then more, and next thing you know they can't live without each other.

One thing, I have to mention: OMG, her blog. I don't even know what to say. I laughed so hard at the products she had to test. And Drew helping her...I just knew they were going to need an intervention. Can you imagine being in that situation and needing EMS or any of the departments he works with? I think he would have had to move to a different state! LOL :)

Oxygen Deprived is another great book by this author. It has all the awesome elements I've come to expect from reading her books. Congratulations Lani Lynn Vale. 5 stars!

This author has a wonderfully quirky way of mixing love with over-the-top drama that in this topsy-turvy, crazy world seems altogether way too normal.

“To really get to know a person, you should get them to use a computer with dial-up internet to get a good judge on their character.”

I loved Aspen’s character! She was a woman done wrong and dealing with her circumstances with humour and an attitude I could only envy. When her neighbour Drew unexpectedly enters the picture there’s hope and also a lot of hot, passionate loving in her future, even though the challenges remain.

Drew is the perfect foil for Aspen as he provides her with a solid protectiveness and devoted loving she aches for, and deserves. Together, they raise the temperature and the bar for how love, warts and all, should be.

“And I just wanted to be someone’s first choice. I wanted to be loved by someone forever…”

Their story is plagued with moments that range from calm to zany, and curveballs that reality TV should be reading (and taking notes!). There is over the top drama that I embrace as if it was the first (or last) piece of chocolate in the drawer. I laugh, I cry, I rail against the injustices but, overall, I lose myself in a story with characters that I immediately connect with and want to call my own.

“I love you because you make me feel happy. Because you make me sleep well at night. Because you make me laugh. Because, when I wake up beside you, you make my heart race.”

Another story to add to my “pick me up” shelf!

Oxygen Deprived- instead of being the title it should be a warning! (I mean that in the best way possible). This book will definitely make you lose your breath; whether it’s from the steamy scenes or from laughing so hard. This book has it all! Lani has done it again! (If you’re familiar with her work, then you know what I’m talking about…. If you’re not, then you’re in for a treat!)
First of all, who doesn’t love a man in uniform? Am I right? Of course I am! Enter Drew- not only does he rock a uniform but he rocks 2-that’s right 2! I’ll just let that sink in…….
Working for the Kilgore Fire Department you would think that he is used to the heat, but nothing could prepare him for his neighbor who is definitely hot (hot tempered). Enter Aspen- who is known for her hot temper and may have taken things a little too far this time and ended up with a not so charming ankle bracelet (that just so happens to monitor her every move) That’s right her good for nothing EX-boyfriend not only broke her heart but landed her on house arrest. House arrest doesn’t sound very appealing, but when you have a hot neighbor like Drew it can’t be so bad right??
I loved Drew and Aspen’s story! I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I was so excited because I love all of Lani’s work (she has several different series that are amazing) I couldn’t put this book down I laughed, fell in love with the story, and most definitely lost sleep-but trust me it was worth it. My only complaint was that it ended too soon I just couldn’t get enough. The characters were well rounded and relatable. Especially Aspen- because everyone has that one crazy friend that’s down for anything and will bust the windows out of your boyfriend’s car. (If you’re thinking to yourself, I don’t have a friend like that- chances are that crazy friend is you )
I recommend this book (series) for anyone who loves a good story that will grab you and keep you reeling from the first word to the last. I give this book 5 flaming cupcakes (I’m hoping the flames attract the KFD so they can put the fire out)

This particular story was one that I had been patiently awaiting for some time. Lani Lynn had hinted at this story some time back and I could not wait to get my hands on it. She did not disappoint one bit! Aspen & Drew’s story is a homerun hitter. Aspen was by far my favorite female in the Kilgore series, reason being was her job. I want her job! Aspen is a product tester for her blog and not just everyday household products but some coming from the local adult store “Uncertain Pleasures”. Drew & Aspen have quite some fun testing out said adult products together. I will just say that some scenes had me cranking my fan up to top speed just to cool my overheated skin down. All was not peachy perfect for these two at all though. Aspen being on house arrest and having a douche bag ex was just two obstacles in her life. She also was trying very hard to connect with her brother Downy, who at times seemed very standoffish toward her. Drew is coming out of a long winded marriage that just had no more life left in it. He also has a snappy mouthed teenager to challenge him at all times. So these two had all the odds against them. It seemed at times they would just whole up in Aspen’s home and leave the outside world and their problems out there. These two needed a happy ending ASAP and yes indeed they do receive it. Again this was a great story with many wonderful supporting characters and yes a couple of hated characters too (*cough Drew’s ex-wife, Aspen’s ex douche bag fiancé) I say hurry and one click this beauty now!

Those Kilgore Firemen are so hot, sexy, and amazing. From the very first book I have been in awe of their willingness to drop anything and everything to help each other and their community out. I just cannot get enough of them and am anxious for more… much more.

Aspen and Drew get to tell their story in Oxygen Deprived. Of course, they both have histories that get in the way of their budding relationship. These histories include a psycho ex-wife and a crazy ex-boyfriend. Both ex’s were realistic in their actions and attitudes and I enjoyed the trouble they stirred up. I also loved how Drew and Aspen stayed strong and together when their ex’s caused the problems. Even when they were not getting along they still stayed together and had a united front in all the problems.

There were things, little things, in this book that made me go huh? I hated the relationship between Aspen and her brother. He was a jerk and knew he was but didn’t do anything to make it better. There were times that I was confused on the timeframe or whose story I was reading. I feel like when the point of view changed there should have been a chapter change or some notation about who was telling the story.

Overall, I love love love Lani Lynn Vale and these Kilgore Fireman. I know there is more to tell and I can’t wait for the next one.

As always this was another one of Lani Lynn Vale's books that just hit the mark, her writing always sucks me in right from the very first word and this one was no different. I stayed up until 6am to finish it.

Aspen has been put on house arrest after a run in with her cheating cop boyfriend! She got a pretty sh!tty deal if you ask me. I loved Aspen, she was a real spitfire and didn't hold anything back. Her reactions to some of the situations were hilarious.

Aspen is Downy's sister, and I have to say I
Lost a lot of the respect for him I had. I couldn't believe how he treated Aspen and I may or may not have shed a few tears over it at one point.

Drew moved in across the road from Aspen but wasn't looking for a relationship. In his opinion women were crazy and he had enough crazy to last him a lifetime. Drew was like most of Lani's men, hot, a badass, loveable and a complete alpha. I loved him instantly.

Lani constantly has my emotions changing while reading her stories. There were parts that were laugh out loud funny then others that made my heart ache. I love her writing and am always impatiently waiting for the next book. I love the fact the different series all crossover with each other, it's great seeing some old faces from books I have loved.

Lani Lynn Vale is quickly becoming a must read, one click author for me. Every time I read a book of her's I know it will be incredibly well written and I become more involved with the characters and the places that her stories revolve around.

Oxygen Deprived is Drew and Aspen's Story. These characters are complex, endearing and most of all completely entertaining. Their banter had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion, much to my children and husband's disgust! (How dare I interrupt their television viewing by laughing at a book I was reading on my kindle).

Their are quite a few twists and turns in this book that I definitely didn't see coming and the plot kept me completing enthralled. I seriously read this book in one sitting, because I couldn't put it down, once I started.

A great mix of romance, supensense, family and friendship, with a good dose of humor.

I really am coming to love the Kilgore Fire Department and community in general. I loved that past characters made a cameo appearance in this book and cannot wait to read more of this amazing series.

If Drew has learned anything, it’s that women are crazy and most of them hide it really well behind their good looks. He’s done with relationships. He’s over the crazies. Except fate had another plan for him.

Oxygen Deprived is one of those playful, all around entertaining reads with a few twists and a lot of drama. This book is absolutely hilarious! Lani Lynn Vale never fails to have me laughing until my stomach hurts. Drew and Aspen are perfect for each other. The tension between them is magnetic. Aspen is freaking insane and I love all of her crazy antics. I can’t say that I blame her for what she did in order to receive that ankle monitor and maybe that means I’ve got a little crazy in me as well. Honestly, Drew is just an all around sweetheart. I admired the way he handled his ex-wife when it came to their personal matters. It showed his patience even when he wanted to lose his temper. He really does know how to attract the crazies. The banter between Drew and Aspen is hysterical. I just couldn’t get enough of these two. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Received a copy. With each Kilgore Fire that comes along I thought I already had a favorite. Lani Lynn Vale keeps bringing the heat with every single character that is presented. I love each word of this read. Oxygen Deprived, yes, that is how far I fell into this read. Drew is absolutely amazing. Aspen, oh how I love her character, so much spunk. Drew and Aspen are two characters that develop over time and the anticipation is so well worth it. I have to admit that while I was reading I had laugh out loud moments because I could see the conversations happening between Drew and Aspen. One thing is for sure I am falling in love with the Kilgore Fire Department. I love this series and how Lani Lynn Vale lets me get wrapped up in the story and the characters.

These series keep getting better and better for me. This one contained a bit less drama in my opinion. Aspen is a spitfire that has sworn off men. And Drew is going through a divorce and sworn off women. But when he see his neighbor, Aspen, all logic is thrown out the window. Now if he can only bring her around to his way of thinking.

These 2 are attracted to each other from the get go. No denying that. But they don't jump head first into bed. They actually spend a little time getting to know each other at her place since she is on house arrest due to her slimy ex. And the way the physical part starts is funny as hell. I wont go into detail because its just to great to reveal. But lets just say there is mention and items from a little shop from Uncertain involved.

I thought the pace was great. Loved that they were open with each other, with one little exception. Drew and Aspen are definetly entertaining. Cant wait for the next installment

I really enjoyed this story. A hot sexy fireman and a sassy woman!!
Right from the start i loved the relationship between the two. There was humour, great banter, and their situation although at times was hitting out of the ballpark its was still all very believable. Drew is done with crazy women, he’s dealing with a witch of an ex wife, a teenage daughter and really has neither time nor interest in relationships, Yep one night stands suit him fine.
Aspen has just split from her cheating ex and has got herself in a situation and is under house arrest.
Drew moves in next door and the fireworks begin ! Hilarious results, ups and downs and some real heart warming moments lead to your heart being captured by both these characters. As they deal with their own feelings and coming to terms with the whole crazy ex’s, this book keeps you engaged throughout, and throws in unexpected twists that keep you on your toes !!
Super lil read !!
