I really really enjoyed this series as a whole. Too Bad So Sad was actually a little bit more on the emotional side for me. I have come to really enjoy Lani Lynne Vale’s books and I simply can not wait for the next one!!!!

Tyler seems like he is a tough officer but he is just such a sweetheart inside. He is probably my favourite of all the male characters I have read in Ms Vale’s books. Bearded, tattoos, heart of gold... All of these attributes have me swooning, BAD!!
Reagan is has a past that has made her the person she is today, but there is just something about Tyler that sets her off. Her past isn’t the best, and this story will keep you wondering what is going to happen next.

I was intrigued right from the start. The story is well written and actually quite emotional on many levels. Most part is Rome’s son and what Dusty does. I will to elaborate on that as I won’t be giving away any spoilers. I misted up a few times while reading this one. I thought all of the characters were great and I loved seeing past couples in the books, It always makes a series even more fun to read. I can not wait to see what else Ms Vale has in store for us this year!

Freaking Awesome. I think Tyler Cree is my favourite in this series.

Tyler Cree was a cop or should we say the chief of a town that was filled with corrupt cops. Now he is slowly building his police force up and he is happy with his life. He doesn't need anyone changing things up or him.
Well until he met Reagan. If he ever met a stubborn women it was her, and he was not going to let her rule his life or change it... Yeah Right dude... Reagan came into his life like a hurricane, Stubborn, opinionated but also soft and quiet and exactly what he needed in his life.
But after everything between them was sorted and Tyler had no choice but to accept his fate, now they had to deal with a physco ex who became a stalker and he doesn't know how far the douchebag ex will go to get what he wants, and what he wants is Reagan.

Loved Tyler and Reagan's story from the first page until the end. LLV gets you hooked and then you can't help but stay up till early hours of the morning, laughing to yourself and wanting to see where this story will end. Definitely my favourite series and I can't wait to read more of this authors books

Tyler has a background in the military who put those skills to use as a police officer. He is a sexy biker that has a way with women but after he let one too close and she left him with a piece of his heart missing he is determined to never let that happen again. He is gruff and growly on the outside but inside he has a heart of gold.

Regan had only known love from all those around her she is left with a broken heart and is determined to focus on her career and not the opposite sex. She is introverted but when you get her riled up the sparks fly and her feisty side emerges.

All she wants to do is investigate some moss, so what if it is on Tyler’s property, it’s not like it’s really trespassing as it’s for the good of science. Their interactions are feisty and the more she trespasses the more Tyler doesn’t want her to leave. The sparks between them ignite but it’s when she’s in danger that the fireworks really fly. Humorous banter, suspense and red hot chemistry will have you rooting for their happy ever after. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This is the fifth book in The Simple Man series. It is a stand alone, but we do see characters from previous books and series.

Reagan is Bennett’s daughter. Bennett’s book is in the KDP Swat series. But, like I said already, you don’t have to read them first. You’ll want to go back though, trust me!

Tyler is the top cop, chief of police of Hostel.

These two could not be more different.

Their first meeting was hilarious. I was laughing so hard.

There is some drama. I felt so bad for Reagan. Bennett couldn’t fix it for her.

Just like ALL the previous books, I love Reagan and Tyler. I can’t wait for Rome’s book (or Rhys’ book). My heart hurts for him.

I look forward to a new book of Lani’s every month. I can’t get enough of them. They suck me in.

“Memories of you make me look forward to the dementia I’ll have in my old age.” -Reagan to her ex-boyfriend.
“I hate people, but I hate saying that I hate people. It makes me sound mean when I’m really a nice person. It’s just that I hate people.”

Another utterly addictive read by this freaking fantastic author.

I truly love everything this lady writes and this book has cemented her place at the top of my ‘one click I don’t care’ list.

So this book gives us Tyler and Reagan’s story and I soaked in every word and felt every emotion as if they were my own. I loved Reagan’s attitude to life and philosophy on how to win a man over ? Tyler was swoon worthy from his opening scenes; there is a particular scene in a restaurant with his sisters and their children...my heart just melted ?

There is so much to this story, but the characters their relationships and histories are what really pull you in. There are a few really emotional scenes in this book, and I certainly had tears in my eyes. Like with all this authors books there are plenty of laugh out loud one liners, and reference to PITA really made me chuckle, a ‘pet’ name I’ve been called in the past!!

I loved the introduction to Rome, and his story is up next, lord help me, I hope my heart can handle this man mountain!

I am loving this series, especially this book! This author has an amazing ability to pull the readers into the story. Reagan is my go to b***h when I want a sassy and outspoken heroine. And then there’s Tyler, he has alpha male written all over him. These two characters make the sheets explode and of course you can’t forget the banter between them. I was rolling on the floor when some of the excuses came out of Reagan’s mouth. That’s all well and good though but when Reagan’s ex is stalking her and just won’t take no for an answer Tyler has had enough. Will he be able to put Reagan’s ex in his place? Will Tyler finally open is heart to love again after his ex crushed him?

I didn’t think that the shenanigans could get any better than with Janie, but I was wrong. Reagan is a whole new brand funny and opinionated. She is described as shy, but I don’t see her that way. I think she is a very strong will character, but she doesn’t trust easy and that is with very good reason. She has had some massive knocks, but she picks herself back up. Unfortunately for her, the knocks do not stop. However, she can get herself into some interesting situations, which some of them I found hilarious.

Tycee is freaking awesome. I knew that he would be, but he was so much better than I had anticipated him being. He is definitely an alpha male (as if there was any doubt), and like the other men, he has a soft squishy center. But that does not stop him from letting loose and raining down on those that deserve it. When it comes to Reagan, at times he doesn’t know what to do with her or the feelings that she causes within him. I really liked the two of them and the back and forth between them.

Overall, another great read from this author. The characters are very endearing and I became emotionally attached to them both. I really empathized with Reagan’s character and adored her sense of humor and take no BS attitude. I absolutely adored Groot (you gotta read about this baby!) and the moss. I would definitely recommend this, and the other books in the series. It has all that I want: passion, danger, intrigue, and some seriously unique and appealing characters.

Besides Too Bad So Sad having just the best frigging book name, I’m totally in love. I have a major crush, yes, with a fictional character... but it isn’t what you think. I want Reagan!! She’s just the best female. I just adore her personality. I can so relate to her anti-social tendencies. She’s just so darn smart, so darn funny... I loved being inside that cleaver little mind of hers!!I just couldn’t get enough of her. The characters Ms. Vale crests are some of my favorite! The banter and fun between Tyler and Reagan was so entertaining... I just couldn’t get enough of them!

Ms. Vale’s Simple Man series will keep everyone entertained from beginning to end. TBSS left me in a fit of giggles with how very different Tyler is from Reagan. He’s so much more reserved to Reagan’s private, yet fun and upbeat. They might be opposites but they compliment each other. This book is one of my favorites in the series. It had s steady pace and it just reads like real life. I wish the twist wasn’t as similar as the previous book with Cora and Coke in “Ain’t Doin It.” It felt like a bit of a cop-out after such an amazing story. However, I still liked this book a lot! I’ll continue reading Ms. Lani Lynn Vane’s stories! She still creates fantastically-relatable stories that are fun and so creative with great people that I want to be friends with!!

Yes. Yes it will! I devoured Too Bad So Sad in one sitting. Which is pretty much the norm for me with anything Lani Lynn Vale writes if I’m being honest. There’s just nothing quite like Lani’s writing with her unique brand of humor, suspense, heart melting romance, and heat all of which is overflowing in Too Bad So Sad. I found myself swinging from cracking up to swooning and everything in between while reading this.
Reagan and Tyler have sparks flying the second they meet and that electricity doesn’t slow down throughout the entire book. Every encounter filled with fantastic banter as these two try to deny the pull between them until it explodes with some serious heat! I adored Reagan and her inability to follow rules and sassy personality made her so much fun to read. Tyler just as wonderful. Despite his grumpy ways he was actually a great big sweetheart when it came to Reagan.
As always, I don’t want to give to much away because spoilers suck, but Too Bad So Sad is full of as much suspense and action along with moments you do not want to miss as it is full of some seriously fantastic romance!

Another book you will not put down! ~ Elizabeth

I have been waiting for Tyler’s story and the wait was so worth it!!!!! Tyler falls head over heels for Regan. She irritates the hell out of him and keeps him in his toes! She slowly works her way into his heart and by the time she does he wants her there.

As always our characters have their skeletons and drama, but that’s Too Bad So Sad!

Another wonderful book by Lani.
I'm really liking the second generation. The kids of Gabe, James, Sebastian and Benny are finally grown and getting their HEA. I hope she writes Sam`s twins and The Dixie Wardens kids stories. Can't wait to see how Trance and his brothers take Miss Oakley dating! Lol

We were introduced to Reagan Rose Alvarez in Kill Shot, which featured her father, Bennett Alvarez. In that book, we could tell she was a hand full, determined, full of fire. In Too Bad So Sad, we see another side to Reagan.

Reagan grew up surrounded by love. She had an amazing father, a stepmother that loved her, a brother and sister that would do anything for her. She was also surrounded by protective "uncles" that always watched out for her. Her child hood was idyllic, but left her naive and protected from the bad things that can happen in the world. She fell prey to a man who did not have her best interest at heart an she didn't cope with that very well.

Tyler is a man scorned. He has been burned by a woman and has no intentions of ever letting one get close enough to do any damage. There is just something about Reagan that he can't ignore. But he still tries to!

The interactions between Reagan and Tyler had me laughing until I cried. Once I picked up this book, I couldn't put it down. I loved the updates we were given about Reagan's parents, brother and sister. I'm loving the stories about all of the kids, all grown up. Its a fun spin on the stories we've been given in the past. I'm also loving the glimpses we got from the Bear Bottom Guardians, and can't wait for their stories! They promise to be fabulous!
