Another fine novel in the Demon Accord series. This one takes us through the process of answering a number of questions foreshadowed in previous novels and the resolutions were as good as a stand-alone novel. It is difficult to write a great review without spoilers so this will just have to do. Declan and Stacia grow together as a couple and the path and it’s difficulty is shown. However, it seems the odds are in their favor for the short term. New foreshadowing in this novel points to a return the roots of the original stories; what a return that is gonna be!. This novel explores the growth in separate directions of the two power couples and hints at possibilities of new additions to Team Demidova via Arcane. The author has such great insight into the world of 18-30 year olds which gives the writing that flavor of reality as you hear this same stuff coming out of the mouths of your nearly grown children, young co-workers, and associates in general which makes it real. I do think we need some more middle aged input as voices of reason. This is voiced best by a comment from Morrigan late in this book... “I had forgotten the terrible risks that the young take”... this uttered as Declan had once again drawn his powers to low levels with an obvious enemy at his back...
The story also shows some potential directions that could result in division between Chris n Tanya and Stacia n Declan... more on that in later novels I think, but also a big part of growing up a little differently as actual adults do. Again, the great flavor of reality expressed by the author in his writings. I absolutely love the way this writer has created a rich and diverse universe with equally rich minor characters which have detail and play parts as if they were major characters. This is a talent particular to other great novelists such as Ludlum, Clancy, Van Lustbader, Conan-Doyle, writers who wrote small parts as if they were big, because in that moment in that novel, those minor characters were major characters and the storyline was never lost or compromised. That is a huge talent as an author. Suffice it to say that reading the comments on the Authors Facebook page shows that the author has gotten deep into the psyche of his reader fans because they are arguing about how characters were apparently not treated well in this or that part the novel. Again this speaks to the depth and level to which the authors writing style gets into a readers mind and soul. This ability is what makes John Conroe novels well worth reading. I will be waiting and wanting to read these novels for years to come if the author so chooses to write them. I sincerely wish that he will. A Huge Thank You to the author for taking the time out of his life to create these works of his imagination for our consumption. Thank you John Conroe for sharing with us.

The series is often enjoyable and the hero’s are likable. However, in order to keep the jeopardy coming so there can be action scenes, the situations are often ridiculous. I would like to address the oblivious. Chris and Declan are both Mary Sues. Which leads to my next question. Why is it when female characters are provided with resources and ever increasing power the Mary Sue label comes out, but when male characters keep developing increasing powers they are heroes? What’s up with that. I would actually like to know.

To get to the plot. Declan continues to be drawn to the land of fairy, where the female rulers are up at arms because he has claimed territory. This also increases his already epic powers. This time he brings powerful allies. Moving back and forth between earth and fairy he deals with a series of challenges, and is pushed to an emotional breaking point upon reliving the death of his mother.

I keep reading these books because I find them entertaining, although they almost lost me when fairy was introduced into the mix. And aliens. We started out with a Devine demon hunter, progressed from there, and now we have everything the author could think up to keep the jeopardy evolving. But as i said the books are usually entertaining and the hero’s are well meaning, the saving grace of the entire series. With that I will probably still read the next one as we end on a cliffhanger of sorts, and I want to know what happens next.

Summer Reign is an excellent addition to the Demon Accords. When I finished reading it I was wishing Conroe had more books available. I’ve already finished everything else he’s published. Good storyteller! Kudos!

This is another great read by John Conroe. I have read all of the books in this series, and the only reason I did not give this one a 5 star is because I felt that it was really just a filler book, setting up major events for books to follow, but really doing little to move the ball forward storywise. Still an enjoyable read though!

This series gets better and better.
The characters seem believable. What's more you feel like they're different characters and not the same "author's voice" behind each one.
Can't wait for what comes next.
Totally booked.

The only thing that stops me getting upset that the books are short and I have to fight to make it last long is the fact that a new book comes again pretty quickly.

I cannot wait for this to be made a series or a movie!!!!

Always awesome !

John Conroe has already done very well with this series but I feel like he has gone in a fantastic direction by actually pitting worthy opponent against Chris, Tanya and Declan. This always felt a bit too superman to me, with too much power for the MC's but now we see the baddies start to get serious
