Another great book from Conroe. This one brought together characters from all the books before it, including Black Frost which I had been looking to read more about.
Fun, lots of action, and sets us up for the next installment.

I've really enjoyed the entire Demon Accords series, and this book is a great addition.
Thoroughly enjoyed the main and supporting characters in the story... I hope to read more of Declan's story in the future.

Started strong, then seemed to drag through the middle stages, but then finished up well. Not as much of a page-turner as his previous books in the series. But still a good read, especially if you want to maintain continuity with the overall story line going forward.

First, read all of the authors works in the Demon Accords universe. The backstory is needed as the author waste little time on rehashing the past. Second, this is a sequel to his work Executable and follows the story of Declan O'Carroll and not Chris Gordon from the more numerous Demon Accords series. That said... this book goes a long ways towards bridging both storylines.

What I loved about this book. It was good... as good as the authors other stories. I loved the fact that the author did not relive the past events as much as he has in the past where the story is retold to new characters. This happened many times in Demon Accords and it does get repetitious. I loved the fact that this sequel did not have other points of view of minor characters. It focused on the main character throughout. The author also was very inventive on the use of magic and the teaching of said magic.

The one area I felt was lacking was in the more interment details of our characters lives. They are young adults off to college but we hear little about the shenanigans which college kids are renowned for. Other then a few classroom incendents we see no pranks, fun times or even down time where the characters get to know each other. College room mates learning each others stories... brushed over. I loved the moments of quietness and introspection in the demon accords series. I felt this book missed a few of those moments.

Overall. If you loved the Demon Accords, you will love this. If you are new to this author but enjoy the Urban Fantasy genre then you will love this book... but read it's predecessors first. I have read dozens of works in the genre and this is right up there near the top along with the giants like Butcher, Hearne and Jacka

Man this book is awesome and really gave some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. It's super hard for me not to leave spoilers but man I read the entire thing in one day. Gonna read it again tomorrow.... Yes it's that good

Finely written with splashes of humor throughout the storyline..An amazing cast of characters brought together
with effortless ease as they interact with each other. A future Master storyteller at work.

The entire Demon Accords series is spectacular. Plots and back story lines that end up coming back in other books and getting explored. You don't get tired of the same old characters and plots. A book you will read in one sitting.

College Arcane is an exciting tale that delves deeper into the Second tier characters who are integral to the Demon Accords world. This is the starting point that brings these characters out from behind the shadows of Chris and Tanya and allows them to shine on their own! A fun read that will leave you wanting more long after you have turned that last page.

I was concerned that this series would quickly become about over powered beings, but the development of other characters builds the world and that is what this book is. Conroe writes in a way I enjoy and this story kept me wanting to read more. Highly recommend.

I stumbled into this urban fantasy genre quite by accident but now i'm hooked and Chris and Tanya and Declan the witch are a huge part of the attraction. Lots of moving parts and food for thought here.

Very enjoyable series. This book nicely developed the new young characters. Would recommend this book as a stand alone for young people. Would make a good series for young adults with further development of characters and story lines.

I really enjoyed this and felt that John has stepped up his game. I truly look forward to the next installment, which hopefully will flip back over to Chris, though I wouldn't have missed this one which was focused on Declan for the world.

Conroe does a phenomenal job of plot and character development combined w/ his very "easy to read" style of writing. If you are fan of Butcher, Goodkind, or the likes; I strongly suggest reading this book.

I have always loved serial books. Your able to get involved with the characters in a way you can't in a single novel. Yes they get a little carried away but that's what makes it fiction. Duh! If you want believable read nonfiction!
